¹ وای بر شما که در شب نقشه‌های شوم می‌کشید و وقتی‌که صبح می‌شود آنها را عملی می‌سازید. در هر فرصتی که به دست آورید، مرتکب کارهای بد می‌شوید.

¹Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

² به زمین و خانهٔ مردم طمع می‌کنید و آنها را بزور می‌گیرید. مال و خانهٔ هیچ‌کسی از دست شما در امان نیست.

²And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away; and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

³ بنابراین خداوند می‌فرماید: «من تصمیم گرفته‌ام چنان بلایی بر شما نازل کنم که نتوانید از آن بگریزید. به روزگار بد گرفتار می‌شوید و دیگر با غرور گام برنمی‌دارید.

³Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye walk haughtily: for it is an evil time.

⁴ در آن زمان شما مَثَل و زبانزد مردم می‌شوید. با تلخی نوحه‌سرایی می‌کنید و می‌گویید: «ما بکلّی تباه شدیم، زیرا خداوند سرزمین ما را از ما گرفت و بین مردمی تقسیم کرد که ما را به اسارت بردند.»

⁴In that day shall they take up a proverb concerning you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] say, We are utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! He hath distributed our fields to the rebellious.

⁵ وقتی آن سرزمین را به قوم خود بازگردانم، هیچ‌کدام از شما از آن سهمی نمی‌برید.

⁵Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the measuring line upon a lot, in the congregation of Jehovah.

⁶ امّا مردم به من موعظه می‌کنند و می‌گویند: «در آن مورد موعظه نکن، خدا ما را شرمسار نخواهد کرد.

⁶Prophesy ye not, they prophesy. If they do not prophesy to these, the ignominy will not depart.

⁷ آیا فکر می‌کنید که بنی‌اسرائیل، مورد نفرین خداوند قرار گرفته‌ است؟ آیا صبر خداوند تمام شده است؟ آیا او واقعاً با ما چنین رفتار می‌کند؟ آیا او با کسانی‌که کارها و کردار نیک داشته باشند، با مهربانی صحبت نمی‌کند؟»

⁷O thou [that art] named the house of Jacob, Is Jehovah impatient? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

⁸ خداوند می‌فرماید: «امّا شما برضد قوم من برخاسته و دشمن آنها شده‌اید و منتظر هستید تا به آنها صدمه بزنید و مانند راهزنان قبای آنان را بدزدید.

⁸But of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye strip off the mantle with the garment from them that pass by securely, that are averse from war.

⁹ زنان قوم مرا از خانه‌های باصفایشان بیرون می‌رانید و اطفال آنها را از حق و برکاتی که من به آنها داده‌ام، برای همیشه محروم می‌کنید.

⁹The women of my people do ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their young children do ye take away my magnificence for ever.

¹⁰ برخیزید و بروید! دیگر در اینجا در امان نمی‌باشید، زیرا به‌خاطر گناهان شما اینجا محکوم به فنا شده است.

¹⁰Arise ye, and depart; for this is not the resting-place, because of defilement that bringeth destruction, even a grievous destruction.

¹¹ «اگر شخص دروغگو و فریبکاری بیاید و با شما دربارهٔ کیف و لذّت شراب صحبت کند، فوراً او را به عنوان یک نبی قبول می‌‌کنید.

¹¹If a man walking in wind and falsehood do lie, [saying,] I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink, he shall be the prophet of this people.

¹² «ای ‌اسرائیل، من بازماندگان قوم تو را جمع می‌کنم و مانند گوسفندان به آغل برمی‌گردانم. جمعیّت آنها افزایش می‌یابد و شور و غوغایشان دشت و دَمَن را پر خواهند کرد.» خدا راه را برای ایشان باز خواهد کرد. آنها دروازه‌های شهر را گشوده و آزاد از آنها عبور خواهند کرد. خود خداوند، پادشاه ایشان خواهد بود و آنها را رهبری خواهد نمود.

¹²I will surely assemble, O Jacob, the whole of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture: they shall make great noise by reason of [the multitude of] men.

¹³ خدا راه را برای ایشان باز خواهد کرد. آنها دروازه‌های شهر را گشوده و آزاد از آنها عبور خواهند کرد. خود خداوند، پادشاه ایشان خواهد بود و آنها را رهبری خواهد نمود.

¹³One that breaketh through is gone up before them: they have broken forth, and have passed on to the gate, and are gone out by it; and their king passeth on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.
