¹Pavel, chemat să fie apostol al lui Isus Hristos, prin voia lui Dumnezeu, şi fratele Sosten,

¹Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

²către Biserica lui Dumnezeu care este în Corint, către cei ce au fost sfinţiţi în Hristos Isus, chemaţi să fie sfinţi, şi către toţi cei ce cheamă în vreun loc Numele lui Isus Hristos, Domnul lor şi al nostru:

²to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

³Har şi pace dela Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru, şi dela Domnul Isus Hristos!

³Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴Mulţămesc Dumnezeului meu totdeauna, cu privire la voi, pentru harul lui Dumnezeu, care v'a fost dat în Isus Hristos.

⁴I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;

⁵Căci în El aţi fost îmbogăţiţi în toate privinţele, cu orice vorbire şi cu orice cunoştinţă.

⁵that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;

⁶În felul acesta mărturia despre Hristos a fost bine întărită în mijlocul vostru;

⁶even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

⁷aşa că nu duceţi lipsă de niciun fel de dar, în aşteptarea arătării Domnului nostru Isus Hristos.

⁷so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁸El vă va întări pînă la sfîrşit, în aşa fel ca să fiţi fără vină în ziua venirii Domnului nostru Isus Hristos.

⁸who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹Credincios este Dumnezeu, care v'a chemat la părtăşia cu Fiul Său Isus Hristos, Domnul nostru.

⁹God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

¹⁰Vă îndemn, fraţilor, pentru Numele Domnului nostru Isus Hristos, să aveţi toţi acelaş fel de vorbire, să n'aveţi desbinări între voi, ci să fiţi uniţi în chip desăvîrşit într'un gînd şi o simţire.

¹⁰Now I beg you, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹¹Căci, fraţilor, am aflat despre voi dela ai Cloei, că între voi sînt certuri.

¹¹For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.

¹²Vreau să spun că fiecare din voi zice: ,,Eu sînt al lui Pavel!`` -,,Şi eu, al lui Apolo!`` -,,Şi eu, al lui Chifa!`` -,,Şi eu, al lui Hristos!``

¹²Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”

¹³Hristos a fost împărţit? Pavel a fost răstignit pentru voi? Sau în numele lui Pavel aţi fost voi botezaţi?

¹³Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

¹⁴Mulţămesc lui Dumnezeu că n'am botezat pe niciunul din voi, afară de Crisp şi Gaiu,

¹⁴I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

¹⁵pentruca nimeni să nu poată spune că aţi fost botezaţi în numele meu.

¹⁵so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.

¹⁶Da, am mai botezat şi casa lui Stefana; încolo, nu ştiu să mai fi botezat pe altcineva.

¹⁶(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)

¹⁷De fapt, Hristos m'a trimes nu să botez, ci să propovăduiesc Evanghelia: nu cu înţelepciunea vorbirii, ca nu cumva crucea lui Hristos să fie făcută zadarnică.

¹⁷For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.

¹⁸Fiindcă propovăduirea crucii este o nebunie pentru cei ce sînt pe calea pierzării: dar pentru noi, cari sîntem pe calea mîntuirii, este puterea lui Dumnezeu.

¹⁸For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.

¹⁹Căci este scris: ,,Voi prăpădi înţelepciunea celor înţelepţi, şi voi nimici priceperea celor pricepuţi.``

¹⁹For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Isaiah 29:14

²⁰Unde este înţeleptul? Unde este cărturarul? Unde este vorbăreţul veacului acestuia? N'a prostit Dumnezeu înţelepciunea lumii acesteia?

²⁰Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

²¹Căci întrucît lumea, cu înţelepciunea ei, n'a cunoscut pe Dumnezeu în înţelepciunea lui Dumnezeu, Dumnezeu a găsit cu cale să mîntuiască pe credincioşi prin nebunia propovăduirii crucii.

²¹For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.

²²Iudeii, într'adevăr, cer minuni, şi Grecii caută înţelepciune;

²²For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,

²³dar noi propovăduim pe Hristos cel răstignit, care pentru Iudei este o pricină de poticnire, şi pentru Neamuri o nebunie;

²³but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,

²⁴dar pentru cei chemaţi, fie Iudei, fie Greci, este puterea şi înţelepciunea lui Dumnezeu.

²⁴but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

²⁵Căci nebunia lui Dumnezeu, este mai înţeleaptă decît oamenii; şi slăbiciunea lui Dumnezeu, este mai tare decît oamenii.

²⁵Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

²⁶De pildă, fraţilor, uitaţi-vă la voi cari aţi fost chemaţi: printre voi nu sînt mulţi înţelepţi în felul lumii, nici mulţi puternici, nici mulţi de neam ales.

²⁶For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

²⁷Dar Dumnezeu a ales lucrurile nebune ale lumii, ca să facă de ruşine pe cele înţelepte. Dumnezeu a ales lucrurile slabe ale lumii, ca să facă de ruşine pe cele tari.

²⁷but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;

²⁸Şi Dumnezeu a ales lucrurile josnice ale lumii, şi lucrurile dispreţuite, ba încă lucrurile cari nu sînt, ca să nimicească pe cele ce sînt;

²⁸and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:

²⁹pentruca nimeni să nu se laude înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

²⁹that no flesh should boast before God.

³⁰Şi voi, prin El, sînteţi în Hristos Isus. El a fost făcut de Dumnezeu pentru noi înţelepciune, neprihănire, sfinţire şi răscumpărare,

³⁰But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

³¹pentruca, după cum este scris: ,,Cine se laudă, să se laude în Domnul.``

³¹that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:24
