1În al şaptelea an, în ziua a zecea a lunii a cincea, unii din bătrînii lui Israel au venit la mine să întrebe pe Domnul, şi au şezut jos înaintea mea.
1It happened in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Yahweh, and sat before me.
2Şi Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:
2The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
3,,Fiul omului, vorbeşte bătrînilor lui Israel, şi spune-le: ,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,,Să Mă întrebaţi aţi venit? Pe viaţa Mea, că nu Mă voi lăsa să fiu întrebat de voi, zice Domnul, Dumnezeu.``
3Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you.
4,,Vrei să -i judeci, fiul omului? Dacă vrei să -i judeci, pune-le înainte urîciunile părinţilor lor!
4Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;
5Spune-le: ,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,În ziua cînd am ales pe Israel, Mi-am ridicat mîna spre sămînţa casei lui Iacov, şi M'am arătat lor în ţara Egiptului; Mi-am ridicat mîna spre ei, şi am zis: ,,Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru!``
5and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Yahweh your God;
6În ziua aceea, Mi-am ridicat mîna spre ei, ca să -i duc din ţara Egiptului într'o ţară, pe care o căutasem pentru ei, ţară în care curge lapte şi miere, cea mai frumoasă dintre toate ţările.
6in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
7Atunci le-am zis: ,,Lepădaţi fiecare urîciunile cari vă atrag privirile, şi nu vă spurcaţi cu idolii Egiptului! Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru!``
7I said to them, Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes, and don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.
8Dar ei s'au răzvrătit împotriva Mea, şi n'au vrut să Mă asculte. Niciunul n'a lepădat urîciunile, cari îi atrăgeau privirile, şi n'au părăsit idolii Egiptului. Atunci am pus de gînd să-Mi vărs mînia peste ei, să-Mi sleiesc mînia împotriva lor, în mijlocul ţării Egiptului.
8But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me; they each didn’t throw away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
9Dar am avut în vedere Numele Meu, ca să nu fie pîngărit în ochii neamurilor printre cari se aflau, şi în faţa cărora Mă arătasem lor, ca să -i scot din ţara Egiptului.
9But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
10Şi i-am scos astfel din ţara Egiptului, şi i-am dus în pustie.
10So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
11Le-am dat legile Mele şi le-am făcut cunoscut poruncile Mele, pe cari trebuie să le împlinească omul, ca să trăiască prin ele.
11I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them.
12Le-am dat şi Sabatele Mele, să fie ca un semn între Mine şi ei, pentruca să ştie că Eu sînt Domnul, care -i sfinţesc.
12Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.
13Dar casa lui Israel s'a răzvrătit împotriva Mea în pustie. N'au urmat legile Mele, ci au lepădat poruncile Mele, pe cari trebuie să le împlinească omul, ca să trăiască prin ele, şi Mi-au pîngărit peste măsură de mult Sabatele Mele. Atunci am avut de gînd să-Mi vărs mînia peste ei în pustie, ca să -i nimicesc.
13But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn’t walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
14Dar am avut în vedere Numele Meu, ca să nu fie pîngărit în ochii neamurilor în faţa cărora îi scosesem din Egipt.
14But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
15Chiar şi în pustie Mi-am ridicat mîna spre ei şi le-am jurat că nu -i voi duce în ţara pe care le -o hotărîsem, ţară în care curge lapte şi miere, cea mai frumoasă din toate ţările;
15Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;
16şi aceasta pentrucă au lepădat poruncile Mele şi n'au urmat legile Mele, şi pentrucă au pîngărit Sabatele Mele, căci inima nu li s'a depărtat dela idolii lor.
16because they rejected my ordinances, and didn’t walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
17Dar m'am uitat cu milă la ei, nu i-am nimicit, şi nu i-am stîrpit în pustie.
17Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn’t destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.
18Atunci am zis fiilor lor în pustie: ,,Nu vă luaţi după rînduielile părinţilor voştri, nu ţineţi obiceiurile lor, şi nu vă spurcaţi cu idolii lor!
18I said to their children in the wilderness, Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.
19Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru; umblaţi întocmai după rînduielile Mele, păziţi poruncile Mele, şi împliniţi-le.
19I am Yahweh your God: walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them;
20Sfinţiţi Sabatele Mele, căci ele sînt un semn între Mine şi voi, ca să ştiţi că Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru!``
20and make my Sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.
21Dar fiii s'au răzvrătit şi ei împotriva Mea. N'au umblat după rînduielile Mele, n'au păzit şi n'au împlinit poruncile Mele, pe cari trebuie să le împlinească omul, ca să trăiască prin ele, şi au pîngărit Sabatele Mele. Atunci am avut de gînd să-Mi vărs urgia peste ei, să-Mi sting mînia împotiva lor în pustie.
21But the children rebelled against me; they didn’t walk in my statutes, neither kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
22Dar Mi-am tras mîna înapoi, şi am avut în vedere Numele Meu, ca să nu fie pîngărit înaintea neamurilor în faţa cărora îi scosesem din Egipt.
22Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.
23În pustie, Mi-am ridicat iarăş mîna spre ei, şi le-am jurat că am să -i împrăştii printre neamuri, şi să -i risipesc în felurite ţări,
23Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;
24pentrucă n'au împlinit poruncile Mele, şi au lepădat învăţăturile Mele, au pîngărit Sabatele mele, şi şi-au întors ochii spre idolii părinţilor lor.
24because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.
25Ba încă le-am dat şi legi cari nu erau bune, şi porunci prin cari nu puteau să trăiască.
25Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they should not live;
26I-am spurcat prin darurile lor de mîncare, cînd treceau prin foc pe toţi întîii lor născuţi; am vrut să -i pedepsesc astfel, şi să le arăt că Eu sînt Domnul.``
26and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Yahweh.
27,,De aceea, fiul omului, vorbeşte casei lui Israel, şi spune-le: ,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,,Părinţii voştri M'au batjocorit şi mai mult, arătîndu-se necredincioşi faţă de Mine.
27Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
28Şi anume, cînd i-am dus în ţara pe care jurasem că le -o voi da, şi ei şi-au aruncat ochii spre orice deal înalt şi spre orice copac stufos, acolo şi-au adus jertfele, acolo şi-au adus darurile de mîncare cari Mă mîniau, acolo şi-au ars mirezmele de un miros plăcut, şi acolo şi-au turnat jertfele de băutură.
28For when I had brought them into the land, which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their pleasant aroma, and they poured out there their drink offerings.
29Eu i-am întrebat: ,,Ce sînt aceste înălţimi, la cari vă duceţi?`` De aceea li s'a dat numele de ,înălţimi` pînă în ziua de azi!
29Then I said to them, What does the high place where you go mean? So its name is called Bamah to this day.
30Deaceea spune casei lui Israel: ,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,,Voiţi voi să spurcaţi în felul părinţilor voştri şi să curviţi alergînd după urîciunile lor?
30Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? and do you play the prostitute after their abominations?
31Da, aducîndu-vă darurile de mîncare, trecîndu-vă copiii prin foc, vă spurcaţi şi azi prin idolii voştri. Şi Eu să Mă las să fiu întrebat de voi, casa lui Israel! Pe viaţa Mea, zice Domnul, Dumnezeul, că nu Mă voi lăsa întrebat de voi!
31and when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you;
32Nu veţi vedea împlinindu-se ce vă închipuiţi, cînd ziceţi: ,,Vrem să fim ca neamurile, ca familiile celorlalte ţări, vrem să slujim lemnului şi pietrei!``
32and that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that you say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
33Pe viaţa Mea, --zice Domnul Dumnezeu--că Eu însumi voi fi Împărat peste voi, cu mînă tare şi cu braţ întins, şi vărsîndu-Mi urgia.
33As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you:
34Vă voi scoate din mijlocul popoarelor, şi vă voi strînge din ţările în cari v'am risipit, cu mînă tare şi cu braţ întins, şi vărsîndu-Mi urgia.
34and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out;
35Vă voi aduce în pustia popoarelor, şi acolo Mă voi judeca faţă în faţă cu voi.
35and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.
36Cum M'am judecat cu părinţii voştri în pustia ţării Egiptului, aşa Mă voi judeca şi cu voi, -zice Domnul Dumnezeu.
36Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Yahweh.
37Vă voi trece pe supt toiag, şi vă voi pune supt mustrarea legămîntului.
37I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
38Voi deosebi dintre voi pe cei îndărătnici şi pe ceice nu-Mi sînt credincioşi; îi voi scoate din ţara în care sînt străini, dar nu vor merge iarăş în ţara lui Israel. Şi veţi şti că Eu sînt Domnul.``
38and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who disobey against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
39Acum, casa lui Israel, aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,,Duceţi-vă şi slujiţi fiecare la idolii voştri! După aceea, Mă veţi asculta negreşit, şi nu veţi mai pîngări Numele Meu cel sfînt cu darurile voastre de mîncare şi cu idolii voştri!
39As for you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Go, serve everyone his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.
40Căci pe muntele Meu cel sfînt, pe muntele cel înalt al lui Israel, -zice Domnul, Dumnezeu-acolo Îmi va sluji toată casa lui Israel, toţi cei ce vor fi în ţară; acolo îi voi primi cu bunăvoinţă, voi cere darurile voastre de mîncare, cele dintîi roade din darurile voastre, şi tot ce-Mi veţi închina.
40For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.
41Vă voi primi ca pe nişte miresme cu miros plăcut, dupăce vă voi scoate din mijlocul popoarelor, şi vă voi strînge din ţările în cari sînteţi risipiţi; şi voi fi sfinţit de voi înaintea neamurilor.
41As a pleasant aroma will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
42Şi veţi şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd vă voi aduce înapoi în ţara lui Israel, în ţara pe care jurasem că o voi da părinţilor voştri.
42You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.
43Acolo vă veţi aduce aminte de purtarea voastră şi de toate faptele voastre cu cari v'aţi spurcat; şi vă va fi scîrbă de voi înşivă, din pricina tuturor fărădelegilor pe cari le-aţi făcut.
43There you shall remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.
44Şi veţi şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd Mă voi purta cu voi avînd în vedere Numele Meu, şi nicidecum după purtarea voastră rea, nici după faptele voastre stricate, casa lui Israel, zice Domnul, Dumnezeu.``
44You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh.
45Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:
45The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
46,,Fiul omului, întoarce-ţi faţa spre miazăzi, şi vorbeşte împotriva locurilor de miazăzi! Prooroceşte împotriva pădurii din cîmpiile de miazăzi!
46Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;
47Spune pădurii de la miazăzi: ,,Ascultă cuvîntul Domnului! Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,,Iată, voi aprinde un foc în tine, care va mistui orice copac verde şi orice copac uscat: nimeni nu va putea stinge flacăra aprinsă, şi totul va fi ars de ea, dela miazăzi pînă la miazănoapte.
47and tell the forest of the South, Hear the word of Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby.
48Şi orice făptură va vedea că Eu, Domnul, l-am aprins, şi nu se va stinge nici de cum!``
48All flesh shall see that I, Yahweh, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.
49Eu am zis: ,,Ah! Doamne, Dumnezeule! Ei zic despre mine: ,,Omul acesta face într'una la pilde!``
49Then I said, Ah Lord Yahweh! they say of me, Isn’t he a speaker of parables?
