¹În cel dintîi an al lui Cir, împăratul Perşilor, ca să se împlinească cuvîntul Domnului rostit prin gura lui Ieremia, Domnul a trezit duhul lui Cir, împăratul Perşilor, care a pus să se facă prin viu grai şi prin scris vestirea aceasta în toată împărăţia lui:

¹Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

²Aşa vorbeşte Cir, împăratul Perşilor: ,,Domnul, Dumnezeul cerurilor mi -a dat toate împărăţiile pămîntului, şi mi -a poruncit să -I zidesc o casă la Ierusalim în Iuda.

²“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘Yahweh, the God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

³Cine dintre voi este din poporul Lui? Dumnezeul lui să fie cu el, şi să se suie la Ierusalim în Iuda şi să zidească acolo Casa Domnului, Dumnezeului lui Israel! El este adevăratul Dumnezeu, care locuieşte la Ierusalim.

³Whoever there is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Yahweh, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.

⁴Ori unde locuiesc rămăşiţe din poporul Domnului, oamenii din locul acela să le dea argint, aur, avere, şi vite, pe lîngă daruri de bunăvoie pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu, care este la Ierusalim!``

⁴Whoever is left, in any place where he lives, let the men of his place help him with silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, besides the freewill offering for God’s house which is in Jerusalem.’”

⁵Capii de familie din Iuda şi Beniamin, preoţii şi Leviţii, şi anume toţi aceia al căror duh l -a trezit Dumnezeu, s'au sculat să meargă să zidească la Ierusalim Casa Domnului.

⁵Then the heads of fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up rose up to build the house of Yahweh which is in Jerusalem.

⁶Şi toţi cei dimprejurul lor le-au dat lucruri de argint, de aur, avere, vite, şi lucruri scumpe, afară de toate darurile de bună voie.

⁶All those who were around them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.

⁷Împăratul Cir a dat înapoi uneltele Casei Domnului, pe cari le luase Nebucadneţar din Ierusalim şi le pusese în casa dumnezeului său.

⁷Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of Yahweh, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem, and had put in the house of his gods;

⁸Cir, împăratul Perşilor, le -a scos prin Mitredat, vistiernicul, care le -a dat lui Şeşbaţar (Zorobabel), voevodul lui Iuda.

⁸even those, Cyrus king of Persia brought out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

⁹Iată-le numărul: treizeci de lighene de aur, o mie de lighene de argint, douăzeci şi nouă de cuţite,

⁹This is the number of them: thirty platters of gold, one thousand platters of silver, twenty-nine knives,

¹⁰treizeci de potire de aur, patrusute zece potire de argint de mîna a doua, şi o mie de alte unelte.

¹⁰thirty bowls of gold, silver bowls of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels one thousand.

¹¹Toate lucrurile de aur şi de argint erau în număr de cinci mii patru sute. Şeşbaţar a adus tot din Babilon la Ierusalim, împreună cu cei ce s'au întors din robie.

¹¹All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought all these up, when the captives were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
