¹Iată Cuvîntul rostit lui Ieremia din partea Domnului:

¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

²,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel: ,Scrie într'o carte toate cuvintele pe cari ţi le-am spus.

²Thus speaks Yahweh, the God of Israel, saying, Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.

³Iată, vin zile, zice Domnul, cînd voi aduce înapoi prinşii de război ai poporului Meu Israel şi Iuda, zice Domnul; îi voi aduce înapoi în ţara, pe care am dat -o părinţilor lor, şi o vor stăpîni.``

³For, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, says Yahweh; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

⁴Iată însă cuvintele pe cari le -a rostit Domnul asupra lui Israel şi asupra lui Iuda.

⁴These are the words that Yahweh spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

⁵,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Auzim strigăte de groază; e spaimă, nu este pace!

⁵For thus says Yahweh: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

⁶Întrebaţi şi vedeţi dacă nu cumva naşte vreun bărbat! Pentru ce văd pe toţi bărbaţii cu mîinile pe coapse, ca o femeie la facere? Pentru ce s'au îngălbenit toate feţele?

⁶Ask now, and see whether a man does travail with child: why do I see every man with his hands on his waist, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

⁷Vai! căci ziua aceea este mare; nici una n'a fost ca ea? Este o vreme de necaz pentru Iacov; dar Iacov va fi izbăvit din ea.

⁷Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

⁸În ziua aceea, zice Domnul oştirilor, voi sfărîma jugul de pe grumazul lui, îi voi rupe legăturile şi străinii nu -l vor mai supune.

⁸It shall come to pass in that day, says Yahweh of Armies, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondservant;

⁹Ci vor sluji Domnului, Dumnezeului lor, şi împăratului lor David, pe care li -l voi scula.

⁹but they shall serve Yahweh their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.

¹⁰De aceea, nu te teme, robul Meu Iacov, zice Domnul; şi nu te speria, Israele! Căci te voi izbăvi din ţara cea depărtată, şi îţi voi izbăvi sămînţa din ţara în care este roabă; Iacov se va întoarce iarăş, va avea odihnă şi linişte; şi nu -l va mai tulbura nimeni.

¹⁰Therefore don’t you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

¹¹Căci Eu sînt cu tine, zice Domnul, ca să te izbăvesc; voi nimici pe toate neamurile printre cari te-am risipit, dar pe tine nu te voi nimici; te voi pedepsi cu dreptate, nu pot să te las nepedepsit.``

¹¹For I am with you, says Yahweh, to save you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.

¹²,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Lovitura ta este de nevindecat, şi rana ta este usturătoare.

¹²For thus says Yahweh, Your hurt is incurable, and your wound grievous.

¹³Niciunul nu-ţi apără pricina, ca să-ţi lege rana; nu -i niciun leac, niciun mijloc de vindecare!

¹³There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines.

¹⁴Toţi cei ce te iubeau te uită, niciunuia nu -i pasă de tine; căci te-am lovit cum lovesc pe un vrăjmaş, te-am pedepsit cu putere, din pricina mulţimii nelegiuirilor tale, şi al marelui număr al păcatelor tale.

¹⁴All your lovers have forgotten you; they don’t seek you: for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased.

¹⁵De ce te plîngi de rana ta, de durerea, pe care ţi -o pricinuieşte boala ta? Pentru mulţimea nelegiuirilor tale, pentru marele număr al păcatelor tale, te-am făcut să suferi aceste lucruri!

¹⁵Why do you cry for your hurt? Your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.

¹⁶Totuş, toţi cei ce te mănîncă vor fi mîncaţi, şi toţi vrăjmaşii tăi, toţi, vor merge în robie; cei ce te jăfuiesc vor fi jăfuiţi, şi voi da pradă pe toţi cei ce te prădează.

¹⁶Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured; and all your adversaries, everyone of them, shall go into captivity; and those who despoil you shall be a spoil, and all who prey on you will I give for a prey.

¹⁷Dar te voi vindeca, şi îţi voi lega rănile, zice Domnul. Căci ei te numesc: ,Cel izgonit,` ,Sionul acela de care nimănui nu -i pasă.``

¹⁷For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.

¹⁸,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Iată, aduc înapoi pe prinşii de război ai corturilor lui Iacov, şi Mi -e milă de locaşurile lui; cetatea va fi zidită iarăş pe dealurile ei, şi casa împărătească va fi locuită iarăş cum era.

¹⁸Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling places; and the city shall be built on its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited in its own way.

¹⁹Din mijlocul lor se vor înălţa mulţămiri şi strigăte de bucurie; Îi voi înmulţi, şi nu se vor împuţina; îi voi cinsti, şi nu vor fi dispreţuiţi.

¹⁹Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

²⁰Fiii lui vor fi ca altădată, adunarea lui va rămînea înaintea Mea, şi voi pedepsi pe toţi asupritorii lui.

²⁰Their children also shall be as before, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all who oppress them.

²¹Căpetenia lui va fi din mijlocul lui, şi stăpînitorul lui va ieşi din mijlocul lui; îl voi apropia, şi va veni la Mine; căci cine ar îndrăzni să se apropie din capul lui de Mine? zice Domnul.``

²¹Their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from their midst; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach to me: for who is he who has had boldness to approach to me? says Yahweh.

²²,,Voi veţi fi poporul Meu, şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru.``

²²You shall be my people, and I will be your God.

²³,,Iată, furtuna Domnului, urgia izbucneşte, se năpusteşte vijelia şi cade peste capul celor răi!

²³Behold, the storm of Yahweh, his wrath, has gone forth, a sweeping storm: it shall burst on the head of the wicked.

²⁴Mînia aprinsă a Domnului nu se va potoli, pînă ce va împlini şi va înfăptui gîndurile inimii Lui. Veţi înţelege în totul lucrul acesta în cursul vremilor.``

²⁴The fierce anger of Yahweh will not return, until he has executed, and until he has performed the intentions of his heart. In the latter days you will understand it.
