¹După aceea, Isus S'a dus dincolo de marea Galileii, numită marea Tiberiadei.

¹After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.

²O mare gloată mergea după El, pentrucă vedea semnele pe cari le făcea cu cei bolnavi.

²A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.

³Isus S'a suit pe munte, şi şedea acolo cu ucenicii Săi.

³Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.

⁴Paştele, praznicul Iudeilor, erau aproape.

⁴Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

⁵Isus Şi -a ridicat ochii, şi a văzut că o mare gloată vine spre El. Şi a zis lui Filip: ,,De unde avem să cumpărăm pîni ca să mănînce oamenii aceştia?``

⁵Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”

⁶Spunea lucrul acesta ca să -l încerce, pentrucă ştia ce are de gînd să facă.

⁶This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

⁷Filip i -a răspuns: ,,Pînile, pe cari le-am putea cumpăra cu două sute de lei (Greceşte: dinari.), n'ar ajunge ca fiecare să capete puţintel din ele.``

⁷Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may receive a little.”

⁸Unul din ucenicii Săi, Andrei, fratele lui Simon Petru, I -a zis:

⁸One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

⁹,,Este aici un băieţel, care are cinci pîni de orz şi doi peşti; dar ce sînt acestea la atîţia?``

⁹“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”

¹⁰Isus a zis: ,,Spuneţi oamenilor să şadă jos.`` În locul acela era multă iarbă. Oamenii au şezut jos, în număr de aproape cinci mii.

¹⁰Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

¹¹Isus a luat pînile, a mulţămit lui Dumnezeu, le -a împărţit ucenicilor, iar ucenicii le-au împărţit celorce şedeau jos; de asemenea, le -a dat şi din peşti cît au voit.

¹¹Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.

¹²Dupăce s'au săturat, Isus a zis ucenicilor Săi: ,,Strîngeţi fărămiturile cari au rămas, ca să nu se piardă nimic.``

¹²When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”

¹³Le-au adunat deci, şi au umplut douăsprezece coşuri cu fărămiturile cari rămăseseră din cele cinci pîni de orz, după ce mîncaseră toţi.

¹³So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.

¹⁴Oamenii aceia, cînd au văzut minunea, pe care o făcuse Isus, ziceau: ,,Cu adevărat, acesta este proorocul cel aşteptat în lume.``

¹⁴When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”

¹⁵Isus, fiindcă ştia că au de gînd să vină să -L ia cu sila ca să -L facă împărat, S'a dus iarăş la munte, numai El singur. Isus umblă pe mare.

¹⁵Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

¹⁶Cînd s'a înserat, ucenicii Lui s'au coborît la marginea mării.

¹⁶When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,

¹⁷S'au suit într'o corabie, şi treceau marea, ca să se ducă în Capernaum. Se întunecase, şi Isus tot nu venise la ei.

¹⁷and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

¹⁸Sufla un vînt puternic şi marea era întărîtată.

¹⁸The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.

¹⁹După ce au vîslit cam douăzeci şi cinci sau treizeci de stadii, văd pe Isus umblînd pe mare şi apropiindu-Se de corabie. Şi s'au înfricoşat.

¹⁹When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, 25 to 30 stadia is about 5 to 6 kilometers or about 3 to 4 miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea, see Job 9:8 and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.

²⁰Dar Isus le -a zis: ,,Eu sînt, nu vă temeţi!``

²⁰But he said to them, “It is I or, I AM . Don’t be afraid.”

²¹Voiau deci să -L ia în corabie. Şi corabia a sosit îndată la locul spre care mergeau.

²¹They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

²²Norodul, care rămăsese de cealaltă parte a mării, băgase de seamă că acolo nu era decît o corabie, şi că Isus nu Se suise în corabia aceasta cu ucenicii Lui, ci ucenicii plecaseră singuri cu ea.

²²On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.

²³A doua zi sosiseră alte corăbii din Tiberiada, aproape de locul unde mîncaseră ei pînea, dupăce Domnul mulţămise lui Dumnezeu.

²³However boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

²⁴Cînd au văzut noroadele că nici Isus, nici ucenicii Lui nu erau acolo, s'au suit şi ele în corăbiile acestea, şi s'au dus la Capernaum să caute pe Isus.

²⁴When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

²⁵Cînd L-au găsit, dincolo de mare, I-au zis: ,,Învăţătorule, cînd ai venit aici?``

²⁵When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”

²⁶Drept răspuns, Isus le -a zis: ,,Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că Mă căutaţi nu pentrucă aţi văzut semne, ci pentrucă aţi mîncat din pînile acelea, şi v'aţi săturat.

²⁶Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

²⁷Lucraţi nu pentru mîncarea peritoare, ci pentru mîncarea, care rămîne pentru viaţa vecinică, şi pe care v'o va da Fiul omului; căci Tatăl, adică, însuş Dumnezeu, pe el L -a însemnat cu pecetea Lui.``

²⁷ Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

²⁸Ei I-au zis: ,,Ce să facem ca să săvîrşim lucrările lui Dumnezeu?``

²⁸They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

²⁹Isus le -a răspuns: ,,Lucrarea pe care o cere Dumnezeu este aceasta: să credeţi în Acela, pe care L -a trimes El.``

²⁹Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

³⁰,,Ce semn faci Tu, deci``, I-au zis ei, ,,ca să -l vedem, şi să credem în Tine? Ce lucrezi Tu?

³⁰They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?

³¹Părinţii noştri au mîncat mană în pustie, după cum este scris: ,Le -a dat să mănînce pîne din cer.``

³¹Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven Greek and Hebrew use the same word for “heaven”, “the heavens”, “the sky”, and “the air”. to eat.’” Exodus 16:4; Nehemiah 9:15; Psalm 78:24-25

³²Isus le -a zis: ,,Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că Moise nu v'a dat pînea din cer, ci Tatăl Meu vă dă adevărata pîne din cer;

³²Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

³³căci Pînea lui Dumnezeu este aceea care se pogoară din cer, şi dă lumii viaţa``.

³³ For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”

³⁴,,Doamne``, I-au zis ei, ,,dă-ne totdeauna această pîne.``

³⁴They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

³⁵Isus le -a zis: ,,Eu sînt Pînea vieţii. Cine vine la Mine, nu va flămînzi niciodată; şi cine crede în Mine, nu va înseta niciodată.

³⁵Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

³⁶Dar v'am spus că M'aţi şi văzut, şi tot nu credeţi.

³⁶ But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don’t believe.

³⁷Tot ce-Mi dă Tatăl, va ajunge la Mine; şi pe cel ce vine la Mine, nu -l voi izgoni afară:

³⁷ All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

³⁸căci M'am pogorît din cer ca să fac nu voia Mea, ci voia Celui ce M'a trimes.

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

³⁹Şi voia Celuice M'a trimes, este să nu pierd nimic din tot ce Mi -a dat El, ci să -l înviez în ziua de apoi.

³⁹ This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

⁴⁰Voia Tatălui meu este ca oricine vede pe Fiul, şi crede în El, să aibă viaţa vecinică; şi Eu îl voi învia în ziua de apoi.``

⁴⁰ This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

⁴¹Iudeii cîrteau împotriva Lui, pentrucă zisese: ,,Eu sînt pînea care s'a pogorît din cer.``

⁴¹The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

⁴²Şi ziceau: ,,Oare nu este acesta Isus, fiul lui Iosif, pe al cărui tată şi mamă îi cunoaştem? Cum dar zice El: ,Eu M'am pogorît din cer?``

⁴²They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven?’”

⁴³Isus le -a răspuns: ,,Nu cîrtiţi între voi.

⁴³Therefore Jesus answered them, “Don’t murmur among yourselves.

⁴⁴Nimeni nu poate veni la Mine, dacă nu -l atrage Tatăl, care M'a trimes; şi Eu îl voi învia în ziua de apoi.

⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

⁴⁵În prooroci este scris: ,Toţi vor fi învăţaţi de Dumnezeu.` Aşa că oricine a ascultat pe Tatăl, şi a primit învăţătura Lui, vine la Mine.

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Isaiah 54:13 Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me.

⁴⁶Nu că cineva a văzut pe Tatăl, afară de Acela care vine dela Dumnezeu; da, Acela a văzut pe Tatăl.

⁴⁶ Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

⁴⁷Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că cine crede în Mine, are viaţa vecinică.

⁴⁷ Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

⁴⁸Eu sînt Pînea vieţii.

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life.

⁴⁹Părinţii voştri au mîncat mană în pustie, şi au murit.

⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

⁵⁰Pînea, care se pogoară din cer, este de aşa fel, ca cineva să mănînce din ea, şi să nu moară.

⁵⁰ This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

⁵¹Eu sînt Pînea vie, care s'a pogorît din cer. Dacă mănîncă cineva din pînea aceasta, va trăi în veac; şi pînea, pe care o voi da Eu, este trupul Meu, pe care îl voi da pentru viaţa lumii.``

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

⁵²La auzul acestor cuvinte, Iudeii se certau între ei, şi ziceau: ,,Cum poate omul acesta să ne dea trupul Lui să -l mîncăm?``

⁵²The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

⁵³Isus le -a zis: ,,Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că, dacă nu mîncaţi trupul Fiului omului, şi dacă nu beţi sîngele Lui, n'aveţi viaţa în voi înşivă.

⁵³Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.

⁵⁴Cine mănîncă trupul Meu, şi bea sîngele Meu, are viaţa vecinică; şi Eu îl voi învia în ziua de apoi.

⁵⁴ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁵Căci trupul Meu este cu adevărat o hrană, şi sîngele Meu este cu adevărat o băutură.

⁵⁵ For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁶Cine mănîncă trupul Meu, şi bea sîngele Meu, rămîne în Mine, şi Eu rămîn în el.

⁵⁶ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

⁵⁷După cum Tatăl, care este viu, M'a trimes pe Mine, şi Eu trăiesc prin Tatăl, tot aşa, cine Mă mănîncă pe Mine, va trăi şi el prin Mine.

⁵⁷ As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.

⁵⁸Astfel este pînea, care s'a pogorît din cer, nu ca mana, pe care au mîncat -o părinţii voştri, şi totuş au murit: cine mănîncă pînea aceasta, va trăi în veac.``

⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

⁵⁹Isus a spus aceste lucruri în sinagogă, cînd învăţa pe oameni în Capernaum.

⁵⁹He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

⁶⁰Mulţi din ucenicii Lui, după ce au auzit aceste cuvinte, au zis: ,,Vorbirea aceasta este prea de tot: cine poate s'o sufere?``

⁶⁰Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”

⁶¹Isus, care ştia în Sine că ucenicii Săi cîrteau împotriva vorbirii acesteia, le -a zis: ,,Vorbirea aceasta este pentru voi o pricină de poticnire?

⁶¹But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?

⁶²Dar dacă aţi vedea pe Fiul omului suindu-Se unde era mai înainte?...

⁶² Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

⁶³Duhul este acela care dă viaţă, carnea nu foloseşte la nimic; cuvintele, pe cari vi le-am spus Eu, sînt duh şi viaţă.

⁶³ It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

⁶⁴Dar sînt unii din voi cari nu cred.`` Căci Isus ştia dela început cine erau ceice nu cred, şi cine era celce avea să -L vîndă.

⁶⁴ But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.

⁶⁵Şi a adăogat: ,,Tocmai de aceea v'am spus că nimeni nu poate să vină la Mine, dacă nu i -a fost dat de Tatăl Meu.``

⁶⁵He said, “For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

⁶⁶Din clipa aceea, mulţi din ucenicii Lui s'au întors înapoi, şi nu mai umblau cu El.

⁶⁶At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

⁶⁷Atunci Isus a zis celor doisprezece: ,,Voi nu vreţi să vă duceţi?``

⁶⁷Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

⁶⁸,,Doamne``, I -a răspuns Simon Petru, ,,la cine să ne ducem? Tu ai cuvintele vieţii vecinice.

⁶⁸Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

⁶⁹Şi noi am crezut, şi am ajuns la cunoştinţa că Tu eşti Hristosul, Sfîntul lui Dumnezeu.``

⁶⁹We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

⁷⁰Isus le -a răspuns: ,,Nu v'am ales Eu pe voi cei doisprezece? Şi totuş unul din voi este un drac.``

⁷⁰Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

⁷¹Vorbea despre Iuda, fiul lui Simon Iscarioteanul; căci el avea să -L vîndă: el, unul din cei doisprezece.

⁷¹Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.
