¹În ziua întîi a săptămînii, femeile acestea, şi altele împreună cu ele, au venit la mormînt dis de dimineaţă, şi au adus miresmele, pe cari le pregătiseră.

¹But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

²Au găsit piatra răsturnată de pe mormînt,

²They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

³au intrat înlăuntru, şi n'au găsit trupul Domnului Isus.

³They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

⁴Fiindcă nu ştiau ce să creadă, iată că li s'au arătat doi bărbaţi, îmbrăcaţi în haine strălucitoare.

⁴It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

⁵Îngrozite, femeile şi-au plecat feţele la pămînt. Dar ei le-au zis: ,,Pentruce căutaţi între cei morţi pe Cel ce este viu?

⁵Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

⁶He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

⁷saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

⁸Şi ele şi-au adus aminte de cuvintele lui Isus.

⁸They remembered his words,

⁹La întoarcerea lor dela mormînt, au povestit toate aceste lucruri celor unsprezece şi tuturor celorlalţi.

⁹returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

¹⁰Cele ce au spus aceste lucruri apostolilor, erau: Maria Magdalina, Ioana, Maria, mama lui Iacov, şi celelalte, cari erau împreună cu ele.

¹⁰Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

¹¹Cuvintele acestea li se păreau apostolilor basme, şi nu le credeau.

¹¹These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.

¹²But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

¹⁵It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

¹⁶But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.

¹⁷El le -a zis: ,,Ce vorbe sînt acestea pe cari le schimbaţi între voi pe drum?`` Şi ei s'au oprit, uitîndu-se trişti.

¹⁷He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

¹⁸Drept răspuns, unul din ei, numit Cleopa, I -a zis: ,,Tu eşti singurul străin aici în Ierusalim, de nu ştii ce s'a întîmplat în el zilele acestea?`` -

¹⁸One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

¹⁹,,Ce?`` le -a zis El. -Şi ei I-au răspuns: ,,Ce s'a întîmplat cu Isus din Nazaret, care era un prooroc puternic în fapte şi în cuvinte, înaintea lui Dumnezeu şi înaintea întregului norod.

¹⁹He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

²⁰Cum preoţii cei mai de seamă şi mai marii noştri L-au dat să fie osîndit la moarte, şi L-au răstignit?``

²⁰and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

²¹Noi trăgeam nădejde că El este Acela, care va izbăvi pe Israel; dar cu toate acestea, iată că astăzi este a treia zi decînd s'au întîmplat aceste lucruri.

²¹But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

²²Ba încă nişte femei de ale noastre ne-au pus în uimire: ele s'au dus disdedimineaţă la mormînt,

²²Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

²³nu I-au găsit trupul, şi au venit şi au spus că ar fi văzut şi o vedenie de îngeri, cari ziceau că El este viu.

²³and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.

²⁴Unii din cei ce erau cu noi, s'au dus la mormînt, şi au găsit aşa cum spuseseră femeile, dar pe El nu L-au văzut.``

²⁴Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”

²⁵Atunci Isus le -a zis: ,,O, nepricepuţilor şi zăbavnici cu inima, cînd este vorba să credeţi tot ce au spus proorocii!

²⁵He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

²⁶Nu trebuia să sufere Hristosul aceste lucruri, şi să intre în slava Sa?``

²⁶ Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

²⁷Şi a început dela Moise, şi dela toţi proorocii, şi le -a tîlcuit, în toate Scripturile, ce era cu privire la El.

²⁷Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

²⁸Cînd s'au apropiat de satul la care mergeau, El S'a făcut că vrea să meargă mai departe.

²⁸They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

²⁹Dar ei au stăruit de El, şi au zis: ,,Rămîi cu noi, căci este spre seară, şi ziua aproape a trecut.`` Şi a intrat să rămînă cu ei.

²⁹They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.

³⁰Pe cînd şedea la masă cu ei, a luat pînea; şi, după ce a rostit binecuvîntarea, a frînt -o, şi le -a dat -o.

³⁰It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

³¹Atunci li s'au deschis ochii, şi L-au cunoscut; dar El S'a făcut nevăzut dinaintea lor.

³¹Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.

³²Şi au zis unul către altul: ,,Nu ne ardea inima în noi, cînd ne vorbea pe drum, şi ne deschidea Scripturile?``

³²They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

³³S'au sculat chiar în ceasul acela, s'au întors în Ierusalim, şi au găsit pe cei unsprezece şi pe cei ce erau cu ei, adunaţi la un loc,

³³They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

³⁴şi zicînd: ,,A înviat Domnul cu adevărat, şi S'a arătat lui Simon.``

³⁴saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

³⁵Şi au istorisit ce li se întîmplase pe drum, şi cum L-au cunoscut la frîngerea pînii.

³⁵They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

³⁶Pe cînd vorbeau ei astfel, însuş Isus a stătut în mijlocul lor, şi le -a zis: ,,Pace vouă!``

³⁶As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

³⁷Plini de frică şi de spaimă, ei credeau că văd un duh.

³⁷But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

³⁸Dar El le -a zis: ,,Pentru ce sînteţi turburaţi? Şi dece vi se ridică astfel de gînduri în inimă?

³⁸He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³⁹Uitaţi-vă la mînile şi picioarele Mele, Eu sînt; pipăiţi-Mă şi vedeţi: un duh n'are nici carne, nici oase, cum vedeţi că am Eu.``

³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

⁴⁰(Şi după ce a zis aceste vorbe, le -a arătat mînile şi picioarele Sale.)

⁴⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

⁴¹Fiindcă ei, de bucurie, încă nu credeau, şi se mirau, El le -a zis: ,,Aveţi aici ceva de mîncare?``

⁴¹While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

⁴²I-au dat o bucată de peşte fript şi un fagur de miere.

⁴²They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

⁴³El le -a luat, şi a mîncat înaintea lor.

⁴³He took them, and ate in front of them.

⁴⁴Apoi le -a zis: ,,Iată ce vă spuneam cînd încă eram cu voi, că trebuie să se împlinească tot ce este scris despre Mine în Legea lui Moise, în Prooroci şi în Psalmi.``

⁴⁴He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”

⁴⁵Atunci le -a deschis mintea, ca să înţeleagă Scripturile.

⁴⁵Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

⁴⁶Şi le -a zis: ,,Aşa este scris, şi aşa trebuia să pătimească Hristos, şi să învieze a treia zi dintre cei morţi.

⁴⁶He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

⁴⁷Şi să se propovăduiască tuturor neamurilor, în Numele Lui, pocăinţa şi iertarea păcatelor, începînd din Ierusalim.

⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁴⁸Voi sînteţi martori ai acestor lucruri.

⁴⁸ You are witnesses of these things.

⁴⁹Şi iată că voi trimete peste voi făgăduinţa Tatălui Meu; dar rămîneţi în cetate pînă veţi fi îmbrăcaţi cu putere de sus.``

⁴⁹ Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

⁵⁰El i -a dus afară pînă spre Betania. Şi -a ridicat mînile, şi i -a binecuvîntat.

⁵⁰He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

⁵¹Pe cînd îi binecuvînta, S'a despărţit de ei, şi a fost înălţat la cer.

⁵¹It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.

⁵²Dupăce I s'au închinat, ei s'au întors în Ierusalim cu o mare bucurie.

⁵²They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

⁵³Şi tot timpul stăteau în Templu, şi lăudau şi binecuvîntau pe Dumnezeu. Amin

⁵³and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
