¹Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman.

²Şi au zis: ,,Oare numai prin Moise vorbeşte Domnul? Nu vorbeşte oare şi prin noi?`` Şi Domnul a auzit -o.

²They said, “Has Yahweh indeed spoken only with Moses? Hasn’t he spoken also with us?” And Yahweh heard it.

³Moise însă era un om foarte blînd, mai blînd decît orice om de pe faţa pămîntului.

³Now the man Moses was very humble, above all the men who were on the surface of the earth.

⁴Deodată Domnul a zis lui Moise, lui Aaron şi Mariei: ,,Duceţi-vă, cîteşi trei la cortul întîlnirii.`` Şi s-au dus cîteşi trei.

⁴Yahweh spoke suddenly to Moses, to Aaron, and to Miriam, “You three come out to the Tent of Meeting!” The three of them came out.

⁵Domnul S'a pogorît în stîlpul de nor, şi a stătut la uşa cortului. A chemat pe Aaron şi pe Maria, şi ei s'au apropiat amîndoi.

⁵Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forward.

⁶Şi a zis: ,,Ascultaţi bine ce vă spun! Cînd va fi printre voi un prooroc, Eu, Domnul, Mă voi descoperi lui într'o vedenie sau îi voi vorbi într-un vis.

⁶He said, “Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you, I Yahweh will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

⁷Nu tot aşa este însă cu robul Meu Moise. El este credincios în toată casa Mea.

⁷My servant Moses is not so. He is faithful in all my house.

⁸Eu îi vorbesc gură către gură, Mă descopăr lui nu prin lucruri grele de înţeles, ci el vede chipul Domnului. Cum de nu v'aţi temut deci să vorbiţi împotriva robului Meu, împotriva lui Moise?``

⁸With him I will speak mouth to mouth, even plainly, and not in riddles; and he shall see Yahweh’s form. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses?”

⁹Domnul S'a aprins de mînie împotriva lor. Şi a plecat.

⁹The anger of Yahweh was kindled against them; and he departed.

¹⁰Norul s'a depărtat de pe cort. Şi iată că Maria era plină de lepră, albă ca zăpada. Aaron s'a întors spre Maria; şi iată că ea avea lepră.

¹⁰The cloud departed from over the Tent; and behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. Aaron looked at Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.

¹¹Atunci Aaron a zis lui Moise: ,,Ah, domnul meu, nu ne face să purtăm pedeapsa păcatului pe care l-am făcut ca nişte nechibzuiţi, şi de care ne-am făcut vinovaţi!``

¹¹Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, please don’t count this sin against us, in which we have done foolishly, and in which we have sinned.

¹²Să nu fie Maria ca un copii născut mort, a cărui carne este pe jumătate putredă cînd iese din pîntecele mamei lui``!

¹²Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”

¹³Moise a strigat către Domnul, zicînd: ,,Dumnezeule, Te rog, vindecă -o!``

¹³Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, “Heal her, God, I beg you!”

¹⁴Şi Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Dacă ar fi scuipat -o tatăl ei în obraz, n'ar fi fost ea oare de ocară timp de şapte zile? Să fie închisă deci şapte zile afară din tabără; după aceea, să fie primită în tabără.``

¹⁴Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, shouldn’t she be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again.”

¹⁵Maria a fost închisă şapte zile afară din tabără. Şi poporul n'a pornit, pănă ce a intrat din nou Maria în tabără.

¹⁵Miriam was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people didn’t travel until Miriam was brought in again.

¹⁶După aceea, poporul a plecat din Haţerot, şi a tăbărît în pustia Paran.

¹⁶Afterward the people traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
