¹Pentruce stai aşa de departe, Doamne? Pentruce Te ascunzi la vreme de necaz?

¹Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

²Cel rău, în mîndria lui, urmăreşte pe cei nenorociţi, şi ei cad jertfă curselor urzite de el.

²In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.

³Căci cel rău se făleşte cu pofta lui, iar răpitorul batjocoreşte şi nesocoteşte pe Domnul.

³For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh.

⁴Cel rău zice cu trufie: ,,Nu pedepseşte Domnul! Nu este Dumnezeu!`` Iată toate gîndurile lui.

⁴The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God.

⁵Treburile îi merg bine în orice vreme; judecăţile Tale sînt prea înalte pentru el, ca să le poată vedea, şi suflă cu dispreţ împotriva tuturor protivnicilor lui.

⁵His ways are prosperous at all times. He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.

⁶El zice în inima lui: ,,Nu mă clatin, în veci sînt scutit de nenorocire!``

⁶He says in his heart, “I shall not be shaken. For generations I shall have no trouble.”

⁷Gura îi este plină de blesteme, de înşelătorii şi de vicleşuguri; şi supt limbă are răutate şi fărădelege.

⁷His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

⁸Stă la pîndă lîngă sate, şi ucide pe cel nevinovat în locuri dosnice: ochii lui pîndesc pe cel nenorocit.

⁸He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.

⁹Stă la pîndă în ascunzătoarea lui, ca leul în vizuină: stă la pîndă să prindă pe cel nenorocit. Îl prinde, şi -l trage în laţul lui:

⁹He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.

¹⁰se îndoaie, se pleacă, şi -i cad săracii în ghiare!

¹⁰The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.

¹¹El zice în inima lui: ,,Dumnezeu uită! Îşi ascunde Faţa şi în veac nu va vedea!``

¹¹He says in his heart, “God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”

¹²Scoală-Te, Doamne, Dumnezeule, ridică mîna! Nu uita pe cei nenorociţi!

¹²Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.

¹³Pentruce să hulească cel rău pe Dumnezeu? Pentruce să zică în inima lui că Tu nu pedepseşti?

¹³Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, “God won’t call me into account?”

¹⁴Dar Tu vezi; căci Tu priveşti necazul şi suferinţa, ca să iei în mînă pricina lor. În nădejdea Ta se lasăcel nenorocit, şi Tu vii în ajutor orfanului.

¹⁴But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.

¹⁵Zdrobeşte braţul celui rău, pedepseşte -i fărădelegile, ca să piară din ochii Tăi!

¹⁵Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.

¹⁶Domnul este Împărat în veci de veci; neamurile sînt nimicite din ţara Lui.

¹⁶Yahweh is King forever and ever! The nations will perish out of his land.

¹⁷Tu auzi rugăciunile celor ce sufăr, Doamne! Le întăreşti inima, Îţi pleci urechea spre ei,

¹⁷Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

¹⁸ca să faci dreptate orfanului şi celui asuprit, şi ca să nu mai însufle groaza omul cel luat din pămînt.

¹⁸to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.
