¹(O cîntare de jale a lui David. Cîntată Domnului din pricina cuvintelor Beniamitului Cuş.) Doamne, Dumnezeule, în Tine îmi caut scăparea! Scapă-mă de toţi prigonitorii mei şi izbăveşte-mă,

¹Yahweh, my God, I take refuge in you. Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

²ca să nu mă sfîşie ca un leu, care înghite fără să sară cineva în ajutor.

²lest they tear apart my soul like a lion, ripping it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

³Doamne, Dumnezeule, dacă am făcut un astfel de rău, dacă este fărădelege pe mînile mele,

³Yahweh, my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,

⁴dacă am răsplătit cu rău pe cel ce trăia în pace cu mine, şi n'am izbăvit pe cel ce mă asuprea fără temei,

⁴if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me (yes, if I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),

⁵atunci: să mă urmărească vrăjmaşul şi să m'ajungă, să-mi calce viaţa la pămînt, şi slava mea în pulbere să mi -o arunce! (Oprire).

⁵let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; yes, let him tread my life down to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

⁶Scoală-Te, Doamne, cu mînia Ta! Scoală-Te împotriva urgiei protivnicilor mei, trezeşte-Te ca să-mi ajuţi, şi rînduieşte o judecată!

⁶Arise, Yahweh, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.

⁷Să Te înconjure adunarea popoarelor, şi şezi mai sus decît ea, la înălţime!

⁷Let the congregation of the peoples surround you. Rule over them on high.

⁸Domnul judecă popoarele: fă-mi dreptate Doamne, după neprihănirea şi nevinovăţia mea!

⁸Yahweh administers judgment to the peoples. Judge me, Yahweh, according to my righteousness, and to my integrity that is in me.

⁹Ah! pune odată capăt răutăţii celor răi, şi întăreşte pe cel neprihănit, Tu, care cercetezi inimile şi rărunchii, Dumnezeule drepte!

⁹Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.

¹⁰Scutul meu este în Dumnezeu, care mîntuieşte pe cei cu inima curată.

¹⁰My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.

¹¹Dumnezeu este un judecător drept, un Dumnezeu care Se mînie în orice vreme.

¹¹God is a righteous judge, yes, a God who has indignation every day.

¹²Dacă cel rău nu se întoarce la Dumnezeu, Dumnezeu îşi ascute sabia, Îşi încordează arcul, şi -l ocheşte,

¹²If a man doesn’t relent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.

¹³îndreptă asupra lui săgeţi omorîtoare şi -i aruncă săgeţi arzătoare!

¹³He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death. He makes ready his flaming arrows.

¹⁴Iată că cel rău pregăteşte răul, zămisleşte fărădelegea, şi naşte înşelăciunea:

¹⁴Behold, he travails with iniquity. Yes, he has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

¹⁵face o groapă, o sapă, şi tot el cade în groapa pe care a făcut -o.

¹⁵He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made.

¹⁶Fărădelegea pe care a urzit -o, se întoarce asupra capului lui, şi silnicia pe care a făcut -o, se pogoară înapoi pe ţeasta capului lui.

¹⁶The trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.

¹⁷Eu voi lăuda pe Domnul pentru dreptatea Lui, şi voi cînta Numele Domnului, Numele Celui Prea Înalt.

¹⁷I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.
