¹Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!

²Din gura copiilor şi a celor ce sug la ţîţă, Ţi-ai scos o întăritură de apărare împotriva protivnicilor tăi, ca să astupi gura vrăjmaşului şi omului cu dor de răzbunare.

²From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.

³Cînd privesc cerurile-lucrarea mînilor Tale-luna şi stelele pe cari le-ai făcut,

³When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

⁴îmi zic: ,,Ce este omul, ca să Te gîndeşti la el? Şi fiul omului, ca să -l bagi în seamă?

⁴what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?

⁵L-ai făcut cu puţin mai pe jos decît Dumnezeu, şi l-ai încununat cu slavă şi cu cinste.

⁵For you have made him a little lower than God, Hebrew: Elohim. The word Elohim, used here, usually means “God,” but can also mean “gods,” “princes,” or “angels.” and crowned him with glory and honor.

⁶I-ai dat stăpînire peste lucrurile mînilor Tale, toate le-ai pus supt picioarele lui:

⁶You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:

⁷oile şi boii laolaltă, fiarele cîmpului,

⁷All sheep and cattle, yes, and the animals of the field,

⁸păsările cerului şi peştii mării, tot ce străbate cărările mărilor.

⁸The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

⁹Doamne, Dumnezeul nostru, cît de minunat este Numele Tău pe tot pămîntul!
