¹Doamne, Dumnezeul răzbunărilor, Tu, Dumnezeul răzbunărilor, arată-Te!

¹Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.

²Scoală-Te, Judecătorul pămîntului, şi răsplăteşte celor mîndri după faptele lor!

²Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.

³Pînă cînd vor birui cei răi, Doamne, pînă cînd vor birui cei răi?

³Yahweh, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?

⁴Ei ţin cuvîntări puternice, vorbesc cu trufie, şi toţi cei ce fac răul se fălesc.

⁴They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast.

⁵Ei zdrobesc pe poporul Tău, Doamne, şi asupresc moştenirea Ta.

⁵They break your people in pieces, Yahweh, and afflict your heritage.

⁶Junghie pe văduvă şi pe străin, ucid pe orfani,

⁶They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.

⁷şi zic: ,,Nu vede Domnul, şi Dumnezeul lui Iacov nu ia aminte!``

⁷They say, “Yah will not see, neither will Jacob’s God consider.”

⁸Totuş, învăţaţi-vă minte, oameni fără minte! Cînd vă veţi înţelepţi, nebunilor?

⁸Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

⁹Cel ce a sădit urechea, s'ar putea să n'audă? Cel ce a întocmit ochiul, s'ar putea să nu vadă?

⁹He who implanted the ear, won’t he hear? He who formed the eye, won’t he see?

¹⁰Cel ce pedepseşte neamurile, s'ar putea să nu pedepsească, El, care a dat omului pricepere?

¹⁰He who disciplines the nations, won’t he punish? He who teaches man knows.

¹¹Domnul cunoaşte gîndurile omului: ştie că sînt deşerte.

¹¹Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.

¹²Ferice de omul, pe care -l pedepseşti Tu, Doamne, şi pe care -l înveţi din Legea Ta,

¹²Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law;

¹³ca să -l linişteşti în zilele nenorocirii, pînă se va săpa groapa celui rău!

¹³that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

¹⁴Căci Domnul nu lasă pe poporul Său, şi nu-Şi părăseşte moştenirea.

¹⁴For Yahweh won’t reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

¹⁵Ci se va face odată judecata după dreptate, şi toţi cei cu inima curată o vor găsi bună.

¹⁵For judgment will return to righteousness. All the upright in heart shall follow it.

¹⁶Cine mă va ajuta împotriva celor răi? Cine mă va sprijini împotriva celor ce fac răul?

¹⁶Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?

¹⁷De n'ar fi Domnul ajutorul meu, cît de curînd ar fi sufletul meu în tăcerea morţii!

¹⁷Unless Yahweh had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence.

¹⁸Oridecîte ori zic: ,,Mi se clatină piciorul!`` bunătatea Ta, Doamne, mă sprijineşte totdeauna.

¹⁸When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.

¹⁹Cînd gînduri negre se frămîntă cu grămada înlăuntrul meu, mîngîierile Tale îmi înviorează sufletul.

¹⁹In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.

²⁰Te vor pune cei răi să şezi pe scaunul lor de domnie, ei cari pregătesc nenorocirea la adăpostul legii?

²⁰Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?

²¹Ei se strîng împotriva vieţii celui neprihănit, şi osîndesc sînge nevinovat.

²¹They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

²²Dar Domnul este turnul meu de scăpare, Dumnezeul meu este stînca mea de adăpost.

²²But Yahweh has been my high tower, my God, the rock of my refuge.

²³El va face să cadă asupra lor nelegiuirea, El îi va nimici prin răutatea lor; Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, îi va nimici.

²³He has brought on them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh, our God, will cut them off.
