¹A Šalamún rozkázal staväť menu Hospodinovmu dom a dom svojmu kráľovstvu.

¹Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom.

²A Šalamún odčítal sedemdesiat tisíc mužov nosičov bremena a osemdesiat tisíc mužov, ktorí kresali kamene na vrchu, a náčelníkov nad nimi tri tisíce šesťsto.

²And Solomon counted out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand men that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

³A Šalamún poslal poslov k Chíramovi, kráľovi Týru, a povedal: Ako si činil Dávidovi, môjmu otcovi, a poslal si mu cedrové drevo, aby si vystavil dom, v ktorom by býval, tak učiň i mne.

³And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, [even so deal with me].

⁴Hľa, ja staviam dom menu Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby som mu ho zasvätil nato, aby pred ním kadili kadivo z voňavých vecí a ustavične mu predkladali posvätné chleby predloženia a obetovali zápalné obeti ráno i večer, na každú sobotu i na každý novmesiac ako i na výročné slávnosti Hospodina, nášho Boha, ktorá to povinnosť leží na Izraelovi na veky.

⁴Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt-offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This is [an ordinance] for ever to Israel.

⁵A dom, ktorý ja staviam, bude veľký, lebo náš Bôh je väčší nad všetkých bohov.

⁵And the house which I build is great; for great is our God above all gods.

⁶Ale však kto aj bude môcť vystaviť jemu dom, lebo veď nebesia a nebesia nebies ho nemôžu obsiahnuť, a ktože som potom ja, aby som mu mal vystaviť dom, krome nato, aby kadili pred ním!

⁶But who is able to build him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?

⁷Preto teraz mi pošli múdreho muža umného, aby pracoval v zlate, striebre a v medi a v železe a z purpuru, červca a z hyacintovomodrého postavu a ktorý by vedel vyrezávať rezby s inými múdrymi, ktorí sú u mňa v Judsku a v Jeruzaleme, ktorých opatril Dávid, môj otec.

⁷Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that knoweth how to grave [all manner of] gravings, [to be] with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

⁸Krome toho mi pošli cedrového, jedľového a algummového dreva z Libanona, lebo ja viem, že tvoji služobníci vedia rúbať drevo Libanona, a hľa, moji služobníci budú s tvojimi služobníkmi,

⁸Send me also cedar-trees, fir-trees, and algum-trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon: and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,

⁹aby mi nachystali množstvo dreva, lebo dom, ktorý ja staviam, bude veľký a zázračný.

⁹even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.

¹⁰A hľa, rubačom, ktorí budú stínať drevo, dám utlčenej pšenice, tvojim služobníkom, dvadsať tisíc korov a dvadsať tisíc korov jačmeňa a dvadsať tisíc batov vína i dvadsať tisíc batov oleja.

¹⁰And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

¹¹Na to odpovedal Chíram, týrsky kráľ, písmom, ktoré poslal Šalamúnovi: Pretože Hospodin miluje svoj ľud, preto ťa ustanovil nad nimi za kráľa.

¹¹Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loveth his people, he hath made thee king over them.

¹²A ďalej povedal Chíram: Požehnaný Hospodin, Bôh Izraelov, ktorý učinil nebesia i zem, ktorý dal kráľovi Dávidovi múdreho syna, rozumného a umného, aby vystavil Hospodinovi dom i dom svojmu kráľovstvu.

¹²Huram said moreover, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom.

¹³Preto teraz posielam múdreho muža umného, Chúrama Abiho,

¹³And now I have sent a skilful man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's,

¹⁴syna istej ženy z dcér Dánových, ktorého otec bol Týran, ktorý vie pracovať v zlate a v striebre, v medi, v železe, z kameňov i z dreva, z purpuru, z hyacintovomodrého postavu i z kmentu i z červca a vyrezávať akékoľvek rezby a vymyslieť všelijaké umelecké dielo, ktoré sa mu oddá, s tvojimi múdrymi a s múdrymi môjho pána Dávida, tvojho otca.

¹⁴the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan; and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson, also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; that there may be [a place] appointed unto him with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father.

¹⁵Teraz tedy pšenicu a jačmeň, olej a víno, o čom hovoril môj pán, nech pošle svojim služobníkom.

¹⁵Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:

¹⁶A my narúbeme dreva z Libanona, koľko len budeš potrebovať a dopravíme ti ho v pltiach po mori do Joppy, a ty ho dáš odvoziť do Jeruzalema.

¹⁶and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.

¹⁷A Šalamún spočítal všetkých mužov cudzozemcov, ktorí boli v zemi Izraelovej, po spočítaní, ktorým ich bol spočítal Dávid, jeho otec, a našlo sa ich sto päťdesiattri tisíc šesťsto.

¹⁷And Solomon numbered all the sojourners that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.

¹⁸A zadovážil si z nich sedemdesiat tisíc nosičov bremena a osemdesiat tisíc takých, ktorí kresali kamene na vrchu a tri tisíce šesťsto náčelníkov, aby pridŕžali ľud k práci.

¹⁸And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people at work.
