1And it came to pass after these things, that God did prove Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham. And he said, Here am I.
2A riekol: Nože vezmi svojho syna, toho svojho jediného, ktorého miluješ, Izáka, a idi do zeme Morija a obetuj ho tam v zápalnú obeť na jednom z tých vrchov, o ktorom ti poviem.
2And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest, even Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3A Abrahám vstal skoro ráno, osedlal svojho osla a pojal so sebou dvoch svojich sluhov a Izáka svojho syna, naštiepal dreva k zápalnej obeti a vstal a išiel na miesto, o ktorom mu povedal Bôh.
3And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. And he clave the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4Potom na tretí deň pozdvihol Abrahám svoje oči a uvidel miesto zďaleka.
4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5A Abrahám povedal svojim sluhom: Zostaňte tu s oslom, a ja a chlapec pojdeme až tamto, a keď sa tam pokloníme, navrátime sa k vám.
5And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship, and come again to you.
6A Abrahám vzal drevo k zápalnej obeti a položil ho na Izáka, svojho syna, a sám vzal do svojej ruky oheň a nôž. A tak išli obidvaja spolu.
6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. And they went both of them together.
7Vtedy povedal Izák Abrahámovi, svojmu otcovi, a riekol: Môj otče! A on odpovedal: Čo chceš, môj synu? A Izák povedal: Hľa, máme oheň i drevo, a kdeže je ovečka na zápalnú obeť?
7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering?
A zase len išli obidvaja spolu.
8And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together.
9And they came to the place which God had told him of. And Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
10A Abrahám vystrel svoju ruku a vzal nôž, aby zabil svojho syna.
10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11Ale tu zavolal na neho anjel Hospodinov z neba a riekol: Abraháme, Abraháme! Ktorý odpovedal: Tu som, Pane!
11And the angel of Jehovah called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.
12A riekol: Nevzťahuj svojej ruky na chlapca a neučiň mu ničoho, lebo teraz už viem, že sa bojíš Boha a neodoprel si mi ani svojho syna, toho svojho jediného.
12And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him. For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.
A Abrahám pošiel, vzal barana a obetoval ho v zápalnú obeť miesto svojho syna.
13And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind [him] a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son.
14And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh. As it is said to this day, In the mount of Jehovah it shall be provided.
15And the angel of Jehovah called unto Abraham a second time out of heaven,
16a riekol: Na seba samého som prisahal, hovorí Hospodin, lebo preto, že si učinil túto vec a neodoprel si mi ani svojho syna, toho svojho jediného,
16and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,
17that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
18a v tvojom semene budú požehnané všetky národy zeme, pretože si poslúchol na môj hlas.
18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19Vtedy sa navrátil Abrahám ku svojim sluhom, a vstali a išli spolu do Bér-šeby. A Abrahám býval v Bér-šebe.
19So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba. And Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.
20And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she also hath borne children unto they brother Nahor.
21Úca, jeho prvorodeného, a Búza jeho brata, a Kemuela, otca Aramovho,
21Uz his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram.
22a Kézeda a Chazó-va a Pildáša a Jidlafa a Betuela.
22And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23A Betuel splodil Rebeku. Týchto osem splodila Milka Náchorovi, bratovi Abrahámovmu.
23And Bethuel begat Rebekah. These eight did Milcah bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
24A jeho ženina, ktorej bolo meno Reúma, tiež porodila, a to Tébacha a Gachama a Tachaša a Máchu.
24And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also bare Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.
