1A keď už bol Dávid starý a sýty dňov, učinil Šalamúna, svojho syna, kráľom nad Izraelom.
1And David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2A shromaždil všetky kniežatá Izraelove i kňazov i Levitov.
2And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3A Levitovia boli spočítaní vo veku od tridsiateho roku a vyše, a ich počet bol podľa ich hláv, samých mužov, tridsaťosem tisíc.
3And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward; and their number, by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
4Z týchto bolo postavených nad dielom domu Hospodinovho dvadsaťštyri tisíc, a úradníkov a sudcov šesť tisíc;
4Of these, twenty-four thousand were to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah; and six thousand were officers and judges;
5štyri tisíce bolo vrátnych a štyri tisíce tých, ktorí chválili Hospodina na hudobných nástrojoch, ktorých som vraj narobil nato, aby chválili.
5and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Jehovah with the instruments which I made, [said David,] to praise [therewith].
6A Dávid si ich rozdelil na oddelenia podľa synov Léviho, podľa Geršona, Keháta a Meráriho.
6And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7Z Geršonovcov boli Laadán a Šimei;
7Of the Gershonites: Laadan and Shimei.
8synovia Laadánovi: hlavou bol Jechiel, Zétan a Joel, traja.
8The sons of Laadan: the head was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9Synovia Šimeiho: Šelomit, Chaziel a Háran, traja. Tí boli hlavami otcov čeľadí Laadána.
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief fathers of Laadan.
10Synovia Šimeiho: Jachat, Zíza, Jehuš a Beria. To boli synovia Šimeiho, štyria.
10And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, and Jeush, and Beriah. These were the four sons of Shimei.
11A Jachat bol hlavou, a Zíza bol druhý. Ale Jehuš a Beria nemali mnoho synov a preto boli, čo do otcovského domu, počítaní za jedno.
11And Jahath was the head, and Ziza the second; and Jeush and Beriah had not many sons: as father's house, therefore, they were reckoned as one.
12Amram, Jicehár, Hebron a Uziel, štyria.
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13Synovia Amramovi: Áron a Mojžiš. A Áron bol oddelený na to, aby ho posvätil Bôh za najsvätejšieho, jeho i jeho synov, až na veky, aby kadili pred Hospodinom, aby mu svätoslúžili a aby dávali v jeho mene požehnanie až na veky.
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was separated, that he should be hallowed as most holy, he and his sons for ever, to offer before Jehovah, to do service to him, and to bless in his name for ever.
14A čo sa týka Mojžiša, muža Božieho, jeho synovia boli pripočítaní k pokoleniu Léviho.
14-- And as to Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
15Synovia Mojžišovi: Geršom a Eliézer.
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16Synovia Geršomovi: Šebuel bol hlavou.
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
17A synovia Eliézerovi boli: Rechabiáš bol hlavou. A Eliézer nemal iných synov, ale synov Rechabiášových bolo veľmi mnoho.
17And the sons of Eliezer: Rehabiah the head; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18Synovia Jicehárovi: Šelomit bol hlavou.
18-- The sons of Jizhar: Shelomith the head.
19Synovia Hebronovi: Jeriáš, hlava, Amariáš druhý, Jachaziel tretí a Jekameán štvrtý.
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20Synovia Uzielovi: Mícha, hlava, a Jišiáš druhý.
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Jishijah the second.
21Synovia Meráriho: Machli a Múši; synovia Machliho Eleazár a Kíš.
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22A Eleazár zomrel a nemal synov iba dcéry, a pobrali si ich synovia Kíšovi, ich bratanci.
22And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
23Synovia Múšiho: Machli, Éder a Jeremót, traja.
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24To boli synovia Léviho podľa domu svojich otcov, hlavy otcov podľa svojho spočítania, zaznamenaní v počte mien podľa svojich osôb, konajúci prácu čo do služby domu Hospodinovho, vo veku od dvadsiateho roku a vyše.
24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, the chief fathers, as they were reckoned, by number of names by their polls, who did the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.
25Lebo Dávid riekol: Hospodin, Bôh Izraelov, dal svojmu ľudu odpočinutia, a teraz bude bývať v Jeruzaleme až na veky.
25For David said, Jehovah the God of Israel has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
26Ani Levitom nebude viacej treba nosiť svätopríbytok ani niktoré jeho nádoby, potrebné k jeho službe.
26and the Levites also have no more to carry the tabernacle, nor any of its vessels for its service.
27Pretože podľa posledných nariaďujúcich slov Dávidových boli počítaní synovia Léviho, a to vo veku od dvadsiateho roku a vyše.
27For by the last words of David was this [done], -- the numbering of the sons of Levi from twenty years old and upward.
28Lebo ich miesto, kde mali stáť, bolo po ruke synov Áronových k službe domu Hospodinovho, a boli ustanovení nad dvormi a nad komorami a nad očisťovaním všeličoho svätého a pri práci služby domu Božieho
28For their place was by the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of all holy things, and [for] the work of the service of the house of God;
29jako aj pri chlebe predloženia a pri jemnej múke bielej na obetný dar obilný a na osúchy, upravené na tenko, nekvasené, a pri panvici a pri zarobenom na rajnici a pri všelijakej miere objemu a dĺžky
29and for the loaves to be set in rows, and for the fine flour for the oblation, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [what is baked in] the pan, and for that which is saturated [with oil], and for all measure of capacity and size;
30a aby stáli na mieste každého rána oslavovať a chváliť Hospodina, a tak i večer,
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah, and likewise at even;
31a pri každom obetovaní zápalných obetí Hospodinovi pri sobotách, pri novmesiacoch a pri výročných slávnostiach v určitom počte podľa poriadku, vzloženého na nich, ustavične pred Hospodinom.
31and for all burnt-offerings offered up to Jehovah on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the ordinance concerning them, continually, before Jehovah;
32A budú strážiť stráž stánu shromaždenia a stán svätyne jako i stráž synov Áronových, svojich bratov, pri službe domu Hospodinovho.
32and they kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of Jehovah.
