¹And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; but the genealogy is not registered according to the birthright,

²A pretože Júda bol najmocnejší medzi svojimi bratmi, za vojvodu bol vzatý z neho; ale prvorodenstvo sa dostalo Jozefovi.

²for Judah prevailed among his brethren, and of him was the prince, but the birthright was Joseph's),

³Synovia Rúbena, prvorodeného Izraelovho: Enoch, Pallu, Ezron a Karmi.

³-- the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallu, Hezron and Carmi.

⁴Synovia Joelovi: Šemaiáš, jeho syn; Góg, jeho syn; Šimei, jeho syn;

⁴The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

⁵Mícha, jeho syn; Reaiáš, jeho syn; Bál, jeho syn;

⁵Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

⁶Béra, jeho syn, ktorého zaviedol Tilgat-pilnezer, assýrsky kráľ do zajatia. Ten bol kniežaťom Rúbenovcov.

⁶Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

⁸and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;

⁹A na východ býval až potiaľ, ako sa ide na púšť od rieky Eufrata, lebo ich stáda sa boli rozmnožili v zemi Gileáda.

⁹and eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the river Euphrates; for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

¹⁰A vo dňoch Saulových robili vojnu s Hagaranmi, ktorí padli do ich ruky, a tak bývali v ich stánoch na celej tvári zeme východne od Gileáda.

¹⁰And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the east side of Gilead.

¹¹A synovia Gádovi bývali naproti nim v zemi Bázana až po Salchu.

¹¹And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salcah:

¹²Joel bol hlavou a Šafan bol druhý, a Jaanai a Šafat v Bázane.

¹²Joel was the chief and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

¹³A ich bratia podľa domu svojich otcov: Michael, Mešullam, Šeba, Jorai, Jaakán, Zia a Héber, siedmi.

¹³And their brethren according to their fathers' houses were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jaachan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

¹⁴Toto boli synovia Abichailovi, syna Chúriho, syna Jaroacha, syna Gileáda, syna Michaela, syna Ješíšaiho, syna Jachda, syna Búzovho;

¹⁴-- These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

¹⁵Achi, syn Abdielov, syna Gúniho, hlava domu ich otcov.

¹⁵Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' house.

¹⁶A bývali v Gileáde, v Bázane a v jeho mestách a vo všetkých predmestiach Sárona, na ich výbežkoch.

¹⁶And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the pasture-grounds of Sharon, as far as their limits.

¹⁷Tí všetci boli popísaní po svojich rodoch vo dňoch Jotáma, judského kráľa, a vo dňoch Jeroboáma, Izraelského kráľa.

¹⁷All these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

¹⁸Synov Rúbenových a Gádovcov a polovica pokolenia Manassesovho, silných mužov, mužov, ktorí nosili štít a meč a naťahovali lučište a boli vycvičení v boji, bolo štyridsaťštyri tisíc a sedemsto šesťdesiat ktorí vychádzali von do boja.

¹⁸The children of Reuben and the Gadites and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men who carried shield and sword, drawing the bow and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, able to go forth to war.

¹⁹A robili vojnu s Hagaranmi, i s Jetúrom, Nafíšom a s Nodábom.

¹⁹And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab;

²⁰A bolo im pomožené proti nim, a Hagarania bolo daní do ich ruky jako i všetci, ktorí boli s nimi, lebo volali k Bohu v boji, a dal sa im uprosiť, lebo sa nadejali na neho.

²⁰and they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

²¹A zajali ich stáda, ich veľblúdov, päťdesiat tisíc a oviec dvesto päťdesiat tisíc, oslov dva tisíce a ľudských duší sto tisíc.

²¹And they took away their cattle: their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand human souls.

²²Lebo pobitých padlo mnoho, pretože vojna bola od Boha. A tak bývali miesto nich až do prestehovania.

²²For there fell down many slain, for the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

²³A synovia polovice pokolenia Manassesovho bývali v zemi od Bázana až po Bálhermon a po Senír a po vrch Hermon; tých bolo mnoho.

²³And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon and Senir, and mount Hermon; they were many.

²⁴Toto boli hlavy domu ich otcov, a to: Éfer, Jiši, Eliel, Azriel, Jirmiáš, Hodaviáš a Jachdiel, chrabrí mužovia silní, slovutní mužovia, hlavy domu svojich otcov.

²⁴And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

²⁵Ale keď sa prehrešili proti Bohu svojich otcov a smilnili idúc za bohmi národov tej zeme, ktoré zahladil Bôh zpred ich tvári,

²⁵And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

²⁶vzbudil Bôh Izraelov ducha Púla, assýrskeho kráľa, a ducha Tilgat-pilnezera, assýrskeho kráľa, a prestehoval ich odvedúc do zajatia, Rúbenovcov, Gádovcov a polovicu pokolenia Manasessovho a doviedol ich do Chelachu do Chábora a do Háry a k rieke Gózanu, kde sú až do tohoto dňa.

²⁶And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, -- unto this day.
