¹Keby povstal v tvojom strede prorok alebo niekto taký, komu by sa sníval sen, a dal by ti nejaké znamenie alebo nejaký zázrak,

¹If there arise among you a prophet, or one that dreameth dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,

²a keby aj prišlo znamenie alebo zázrak, o ktorom by ti hovoril, a povedal by: Poďme za inými bohmi, ktorých si neznal, a slúžme im!

²and the sign or the wonder come to pass that he told unto thee, when he said, Let us go after other gods, whom thou hast not known, and let us serve them,

³Neposlúchneš na slová toho proroka alebo na slová toho, komu by sa sníval nejaký taký sen, lebo Hospodin, váš Bôh, vás to zkúša, aby zvedel, či milujete Hospodina, svojho Boha, celým svojím srdcom a celou svojou dušou.

³-- thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams; for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁴Hospodina, svojho Boha, budete nasledovať a jeho sa budete báť, jeho prikázania budete ostríhať a na jeho hlas budete počúvať; jemu budete slúžiť a jeho sa budete verne pridŕžať.

⁴Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and ye shall fear him, and his commandments shall ye keep, and his voice shall ye hear; and ye shall serve him, and unto him shall ye cleave.

⁵A ten prorok alebo ten, komu by sa sníval taký sen, zomrie, pretože hovoril to, čím by vás odvrátil od Hospodina, vášho Boha, ktorý vás vyviedol z Egyptskej zeme a ktorý ťa vyslobodil z domu sluhov, chcúc ťa vyraziť z cesty, ktorú ti prikázal Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, aby si ňou išiel. A odpraceš to zlo zo svojho stredu!

⁵And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; for he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, -- to draw thee out of the way that Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.

⁶Keby ťa skryte nahováral tvoj brat, syn tvojej matky, alebo tvoj syn alebo tvoja dcéra alebo žena tvojho lona alebo tvoj priateľ, ktorý by ti bol drahý jako tvoja vlastná duša, a povedal by: Poďme a slúžme iným bohom, ktorých si neznal ani ty ani tvoji otcovia,

⁶If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, who is to thee as thy soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods (whom thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

⁷niektorým z bohovo národov, ktoré sú vôkol vás, už či tebe blízke a či ďaleké od teba, kdekoľvek od jedného konca zeme až po druhý koniec zeme,

⁷of the gods of the peoples which are round about you, near unto thee, or far from thee, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth),

⁸nepovolíš mu ani ho nebudeš počúvať, ani sa nad ním nezľutuje tvoje oko, ani ho nebudeš šetriť ani ho nezakryješ.

⁸thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye spare him, neither shalt thou pity him, neither shalt thou screen him,

⁹Ale doista ho zabiješ bez milosti. Tvoja ruka bude prvá, ktorá siahne na neho, aby ho zabila a potom ruka všetkého ľudu.

⁹but thou shalt in any case kill him: thy hand shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people;

¹⁰A budeš ho kameňovať, dokiaľ nezomrie, lebo ťa chcel odviesť od Hospodina, tvojho Boha, ktorý ťa vyviedol z Egyptskej zeme, z domu sluhov.

¹⁰and thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; for he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

¹¹A počuje to celý Izrael, a budú sa báť a neurobia viacej nijakej takej zlej veci v tvojom strede.

¹¹and all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wicked thing as this in thy midst.

¹²Keby si počul hovoriť o niektorom zo svojich miest, ktoré ti dá Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, aby si tam býval,

¹²If in one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee to dwell there, thou hearest, saying,

¹³že vyšli mužovia, synovia beliála, z tvojho stredu a že zviedli obyvateľov svojho mesta hovoriac: Poďme, slúžme iným bohom, ktorých ste neznali,

¹³There are men, children of Belial, gone out from among you, and they have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, whom ye have not known;

¹⁴vtedy vyhľadáš vec a vyšetríš a dobre sa na ňu vypýtaš. A keď sa presvedčíš, že hľa, je to istá pravda, že sa vykonala tá ohavnosť v tvojom strede,

¹⁴then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and if it be truth, [and] the thing be certain, that this abomination hath happened in the midst of thee,

¹⁵doista pobiješ obyvateľov toho mesta ostrím meča. Zahub ho, vyrieknuc nad ním kliatbu úplnej záhuby, i všetko, čo je v ňom, i jeho hovädo ostrím meča.

¹⁵thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, devoting it to destruction, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

¹⁶I všetku jeho korisť shromaždíš na prostred jeho ulice a spáliš ohňom mesto i všetku jeho korisť docela, Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, a bude večnou hromadou rumov; nebude sa viacej staväť.

¹⁶And all the spoil of it shalt thou gather into the midst of the open place thereof, and shalt burn the city with fire, and all the spoil thereof, wholly to Jehovah thy God; and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

¹⁷Ani sa nič neprichytí tvojej ruky z toho prekliateho na úplnú záhubu, aby sa odvrátil Hospodin od pále svojho hnevu a dal ti milosrdenstvo a aby sa zľutoval nad tebou a rozmnožil ťa, jako prisahal tvojim otcom.

¹⁷And thou shalt not let anything cleave to thy hand of the devoted thing; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

¹⁸Lebo budeš počúvať na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby si ostríhal všetky jeho prikázania, ktoré ti ja prikazujeme dnes, aby si robil to, čo je pravé v očiach Hospodina, tvojho Boha.

¹⁸when thou hearkenest to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, that thou mayest do what is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
