¹A stalo sa, keď sa začali ľudia množiť na tvári zeme, a narodily sa im dcéry,

¹And it came to pass when mankind began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them,

²že videli synovia Boží ľudské dcéry, že sú krásne, a brali si ženy zo všetkých, ktoré si volili.

²that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and took themselves wives of all that they chose.

³A Hospodin riekol: Nebude sa môj Duch prieť s človekom na veky v jeho blúdení; je telo, a bude jeho dní sto dvadsať rokov.

³And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always plead with Man; for he indeed is flesh; but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

⁴V tých dňoch boli obrovia na zemi, a tiež i potom, keď vchádzali synovia Boží k ľudským dcéram a rodily im. To boli tí siláci, ktorí sú od veku mužmi povestného mena.

⁴In those days were the giants on the earth, and also afterwards, when the sons of God had come in to the daughters of men, and they had borne [children] to them; these were the heroes, who of old were men of renown.

⁵A Hospodin videl, že sa množí zlosť človeka na zemi, a že všetko, čokoľvek vytvoria myšlienky jeho srdca, je len zlé po všetky dni.

⁵And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of Man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil continually.

⁶A Hospodin ľutoval, že učinil človeka na zemi, a mal bolesť vo svojom srdci.

⁶And Jehovah repented that he had made Man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

⁷A Hospodin riekol: Zahladím človeka, ktorého som stvoril, s tvári zeme, zahladím všetko od človeka až do hoväda, až do zemeplazu a až do nebeského vtáka, lebo ľutujem, že som ich učinil.

⁷And Jehovah said, I will destroy Man, whom I have created, from the earth -- from man to cattle, to creeping things, and to fowl of the heavens; for I repent that I have made them.

⁸Ale Noach našiel milosť v očiach Hospodinových.

⁸But Noah found favour in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁹Toto sú rody Noachove: Noach bol spravedlivý muž dokonalý vo svojich pokoleniach. Noach chodil s Bohom.

⁹This is the history of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect amongst his generations: Noah walked with God.

¹⁰A Noach splodil troch synov: Sema, Chama a Jafeta.

¹⁰And Noah begot three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹¹A zem bola porušená pred Bohom a zem bola naplnená ukrutnosťou.

¹¹And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was full of violence.

¹²A Bôh videl zem, a hľa, bola porušená, lebo každé telo bolo porušilo svoju cestu na zemi.

¹²And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.

¹³A Bôh riekol Noachovi: Koniec každého tela prišiel predo mňa, lebo zem je plná ukrutnosti od nich, a hľa, zkazím ich aj so zemou.

¹³And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is full of violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

¹⁴Učiň si koráb z dreva gófera; a spravíš koráb s priehradami a pokryješ ho zvnútra i zvonku smolou.

¹⁴Make thyself an ark of gopher wood: [with] cells shalt thou make the ark; and pitch it inside and outside with pitch.

¹⁵A spravíš ho na takýto spôsob: tristo lakťov bude dĺžka korábu, päťdesiat lakťov jeho šírka a tridsať lakťov jeho výška.

¹⁵And thus shalt thou make it: let the length of the ark be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

¹⁶Korábu spravíš oblok, a to na lakeť a zavrieš ho, shora. A dvere korábu umiestiš na jeho boku; spravíš ho s poschodiami, so spodným, druhým a tretím poschodím.

¹⁶A light shalt thou make to the ark; and to a cubit high shalt thou finish it above. And the door of the ark shalt thou set in its side: [with] a lower, second, and third [story] shalt thou make it.

¹⁷A ja, hľa, uvediem potopu vôd na zem, aby som skazil každé telo, v ktorom je duch života pod nebom; všetko, čo je na zemi, zomrie.

¹⁷For I, behold, I bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh under the heavens in which is the breath of life: everything that is on the earth shall expire.

¹⁸A postavím svoju smluvu s tebou, a vojdeš do korábu ty i tvoji synovia i tvoja žena i ženy tvojich synov s tebou.

¹⁸But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt go into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

¹⁹A zo všetkých zvierat, z každého tela, po dvoje uvedieš z každého do korábu, aby si ich zachoval živé so sebou; samec a samica budú.

¹⁹And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every [sort] shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep [them] alive with thee: they shall be male and female.

²⁰Z vtáctva podľa jeho druhu, z hoviad podľa ich druhu, zo všetkých zemeplazov podľa ich druhu, po dvoje z každého vojdú k tebe, aby boly zachované živé.

²⁰Of fowl after their kind, and of the cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of each shall go in to thee, to keep [them] alive.

²¹A ty si naber z každej potraviny, ktorá sa jie, a shromaždíš to k sebe a bude to tebe aj im na pokrm.

²¹And take thou of all food that is eaten, and gather [it] to thee, that it may be for food for thee and for them.

²²A Noach učinil všetko tak, ako mu prikázal Bôh; tak učinil.

²²And Noah did it; according to all that God had commanded him, so did he.
