1A tak jestli ste vstali z mŕtvych s Kristom, hľadajte veci, ktoré sú hore, kde sedí Kristus po pravici Boha;
1If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
2na to myslite, čo je hore, nie na to, čo je na zemi.
2Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
3Lebo ste zomreli, a váš život je skrytý s Kristom v Bohu,
3For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4a keď sa zjaví Kristus, náš život, vtedy sa aj vy s ním zjavíte v sláve.
4When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
5Teda mŕtvite svoje údy, ktoré sú na zemi, smilstvo, nečistotu, vášeň, zlú žiadosť a lakomstvo, ktoré je modlárstvom,
5Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;
6pre ktoré veci prichádza hnev Boží na synov neposlušnosti,
6for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
7medzi ktorými ste aj vy kedysi chodili, keď ste v nich žili.
7You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;
8Ale teraz složte aj vy to všetko: hnev, prchkosť, zlosť, rúhanie, mrzkomluvu zo svojich úst.
8but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
9Neluhajte jeden druhému, keď ste vyzliekli starého človeka s jeho skutkami
9Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,
10a obliekli nového, obnovujúceho sa cieľom pravej známosti, podľa obrazu toho, ktorý ho stvoril,
10and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
11kde už niet ani Gréka ani Žida, obriezky ani neobriezky, barbara, Skýtu, sluhu, slobodného, ale všetko a vo všetkom Kristus.
11where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.
12A tak si oblečte jako vyvolení Boží, svätí a milovaní srdečnú sústrasť milosrdnú, dobrotivosť, pokoru, krotkosť, zhovievavosť
12Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;
13znášajúc jeden druhého a odpúšťajúc si, keby mal niekto na niekoho žalobu, jako aj Kristus odpustil vám, tak aj vy.
13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
14Ale nad to nado všetko oblečte si lásku, ktorá je pojivom dokonalosti.
14Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
15A pokoj Boží nech víťazí vo vašich srdciach, ku ktorému ste aj povolaní v jednom tele, a buďte vďační.
15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16Slovo Kristovo nech prebýva vo vás bohate vo všetkej múdrosti; učiaci a napomínajúci sa žalmami, hymnami a duchovnými piesňami v milosti spievajúci vo svojom srdci Pánovi.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
17A všetko, čokoľvek robíte slovom alebo skutkom, všetko robte v mene Pána Ježiša ďakujúc Bohu a Otcovi skrze neho.
17Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.
18Vy, ženy, podriaďujte sa vlastným mužom, ako sa sluší v Pánovi.
18Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19Vy, mužovia, milujte svoje ženy a nerozhorčujte sa na ne.
19Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.
20Vy, deti, poslúchajte svojich rodičov vo všetkom, lebo to je ľúbe Pánovi.
20Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
21Vy, otcovia, nedráždite svojich detí, aby neztratily smelosti a vôle.
21Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.
22Vy, sluhovia, poslúchajte svojich pánov v tele vo všetkom a neslúžte verne iba naoko jako takí, ktorí sa chcú ľúbiť ľuďom, ale v prostote srdca bojac sa Boha.
22Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.
23A všetko, čokoľvek činíte, robte z duše jako Pánovi a nie ľuďom
23And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,
24vediac, že od Pána vezmete odplatu dedičstva, lebo Pánu Kristovi slúžite.
24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
25A ten, kto pácha neprávosť, odnesie si odplatu neprávosti, ktorú spáchal. A Bôh nehľadí na osobu.
25But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.
