¹Prečo sa búria národy, a ľudia myslia márne veci?

¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

²Kráľovia zeme sa postavujú, a kniežatá sa spolu radia proti Hospodinovi a proti jeho pomazanému a hovoria:

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, The word “Anointed” is the same as the word for “Messiah” or “Christ” saying,

³Roztrhajme ich sväzky a zahoďme od seba ich povrazy.

³“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

⁴Ale ten, ktorý prebýva v nebesiach, smeje sa; Pán sa im vysmieva.

⁸Požiadaj odo mňa, a dám ti národy, tvoje dedičstvo, tvoje državie, končiny zeme.

⁸Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

⁹Roztlčieš ich železným prútom; roztrieskaš ich ako nádobu hrnčiara.

⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

¹⁰A tak teraz buďte rozumní, kráľovia; učte sa, sudcovia zeme!

¹⁰Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹¹Slúžte Hospodinovi v bázni a veseľte sa s trasením.

¹¹Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹²Ľúbajte syna, aby sa nerozhneval, a pohynuli by ste na ceste, lebo sa skoro zapáli jeho hnev. Blahoslavení sú všetci, ktorí sa utiekajú k nemu.

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son or, Kiss the son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
