¹Prosím vás tedy, bratia, pre rôzne milosrdenstvo Božie, žeby ste ta dali svoje telá v živú obeť svätú a ľúbu Bohu, rozumnú to vašu svätoslužbu.

¹Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

²A nepripodobňujte sa tomuto svetu, ale sa premeňte obnovením svojej mysli, aby ste zkúšali, čo je vôľa Božia, to, čo je dobré, ľúbe a dokonalé!

²Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

³Lebo hovorím skrze milosť, ktorá mi je daná, každému, kto je medzi vami, aby nemyslel vyššie nad to, čo treba myslieť, ale aby myslel tak, že by rozumne myslel, každý podľa toho, jako jednému každému Bôh udelil mieru viery.

³For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

⁴Lebo tak, ako máme v jednom tele mnohé údy, ale jako údy nemajú všetky toho istého úkonu,

⁴For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,

⁵tak aj my mnohí sme jedným telom v Kristovi, ale jednotlive jedni druhých údami.

⁵so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

⁶A majúc rozdielne dary, podľa milosti, ktorá nám je daná, buď proroctvo, nech je v úmere s vierou;

⁶Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

⁷buď službu, verný v službe; buď ten, kto učí, v učení;

⁷or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;

⁸buď kto napomína, v napomínaní; ten, kto sa sdieľa, v prostote; kto je predstavený, v pilnosti; kto činí milosrdenstvo, nech to robí veselou tvárou, ochotne.

⁸or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

⁹Láska nech je nepokrytecká. Nech sa vám oškliví zlé, a pridŕžajte sa dobrého.

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

¹⁰V bratskej láske buďte navzájom naproti sebe nežní, v úcte jedni druhých predchádzajúci,

¹⁰In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;

¹¹v prácach nie leniví, duchom vrúci, Pánovi slúžiaci,

¹¹not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹²v nádeji sa radujúci, v súžení trpezliví, na modlitbe zotrvávajúci,

¹²rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;

¹³v potrebách svätých sa sdieľajúci, za pohostinnosťou sa ženúci.

¹³contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.

¹⁴Dobrorečte tým, ktorí vás prenasledujú; dobrorečte a nezlorečte.

¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.

¹⁵Radovať sa s radujúcimi a plakať s plačúcimi;

¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.

¹⁶jedno a to isté navzájom naproti sebe smýšľajúci; nie mysliaci na vysoké veci, ale nízke nech vás zaujíma.

¹⁶Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.

¹⁷Nebuďte rozumní sami u seba, nikomu neodplacujúc zlého za zlé, premýšľajúc o tom, čo je dobré pred všetkými ľuďmi.

¹⁷Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.

¹⁸Ak je to možné, nakoľko to závisí od vás, majte pokoj so všetkými ľuďmi.

¹⁸If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

¹⁹Nie sami sa pomstiac, milovaní, ale dajte miesto hnevu, lebo je napísané: Mne pomsta; ja odplatím, hovorí Pán.

¹⁹Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Deuteronomy 32:35

²⁰A tak keď je hladný tvoj nepriateľ, nakŕm ho; keď je smädný, napoj ho; lebo to robiac shrnieš žeravé uhlie na jeho hlavu.

²⁰Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Proverbs 25:21-22
