²Reaja, sin Šobalov, pa je rodil Jahata, in Jahat je rodil Ahumaja in Lahada. To so rodovine Zoratovcev.

²And Reaiah son of Shobal begat Jahath, and Jahath begat Ahumai and Lahad; these [are] families of the Zorathite.

³In ti so bili sinovi očeta Etama: Jezreel, Išma in Idbaš, in njih sestri je bilo ime Hazelelpona;

³And these [are] of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister [is] Hazzelelponi,

⁴in Penuel, oče Gedorjev, in Ezer, oče Husajev. Ti so sinovi Hura, prvenca Efrate, očeta Betlehema.

⁴and Penuel [is] father of Gedor, and Ezer father of Hushah. These [are] sons of Hur, first-born of Ephratah, father of Beth-Lehem.

⁵Ashur pa, oče Tekoa, je imel dve ženi, Helo in Naaro.

⁵And to Ashhur father of Tekoa were two wives, Helah and Naarah;

⁶In Naara mu je rodila Ahuzama, Heferja, Temenija, Ahastarija; ti so bili sinovi Naare.

⁶and Naarah beareth to him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari: these [are] sons of Naarah.

⁷Sinovi Hele pa so bili Zeret, Izhar in Etnan.

⁷And sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.

⁸In Koz je rodil Anuba, Zobeba in rodovine Aharhela, sinú Harumovega.

⁸And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel son of Harum.

⁹In Jabez je bil imenitnejši mimo svojih bratov; in mati njegova mu je dala ime Jabez, rekoč: Ker sem ga rodila z bolečino.

⁹And Jabez is honoured above his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, `Because I have brought forth with grief.`

¹⁰In Jabez je klical Boga Izraelovega, govoreč: O da bi me obilo blagoslovil in razširil mejo mojo ter da bi bila roka tvoja z menoj in bi me branil zlega, da me ne zadene bolečina! In Bog je dal, da je prišlo, česar je prosil.

¹⁰And Jabez calleth to the God of Israel, saying, `If blessing Thou dost bless me, then Thou hast made great my border, and Thy hand hath been with me, and Thou hast kept [me] from evil — not to grieve me;` and God bringeth in that which he asked.

¹¹In Kelub, brat Suhajev, je rodil Mehirja, ki je bil oče Estona.

¹¹And Chelub brother of Shuah begat Mehir; he [is] father of Eshton.

¹²In Eston je rodil Betrafa, Paseaha in Tehina, očeta mesta Nahasa. To so možje iz Reke.

¹²And Eshton begat Beth-Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah father of Ir-Nahash; these [are] men of Rechah.

¹³In sinova Kenazova: Otniel in Seraja; in sin Otnielov: Hatat.

¹³And sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah; and sons of Othniel: Hathath.

¹⁴In Meonotaj je rodil Ofra; in Seraja je rodil Joaba, očeta doline umetnikov; bili so namreč umetniki.

¹⁴And Meonothai begat Ophrah, and Seraiah begat Joab father of the valley of artificers, for they were artificers.

¹⁵In sinovi Kaleba, sina Jefunovega: Iru, Ela in Naam; in sinovi Elovi in Kenaz.

¹⁵And sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and sons of Elah, even Kenaz.

¹⁶In sinovi Jehalelelovi: Zif in Zifa,Tirja in Asarel.

¹⁶And sons of Jehaleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.

¹⁷In sinovi Ezrovi: Jeter, Mered, Efer in Jalon. In ona je rodila Mirjama, Šamaja in Isbaha, očeta Estemoa.

¹⁷And sons of Ezra [are] Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she beareth Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah father of Eshtemoa.

¹⁸In žena njegova, Judinja, je rodila Jereda, očeta Gedorjevega, in Heberja, očeta Sokovega, in Jekutiela, očeta Zanoahovega. In ti so sinovi Bitije, hčere Faraonove, ki si jo je vzel Mered.

¹⁸And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered father of Gedor, and Heber father of Socho, and Jekuthiel father of Zanoah. And these [are] sons of Bithiah daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took,

²⁰And sons of Shimon [are] Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-Hanon, and Tilon; and sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-Zoheth.

²¹Sinovi Šela, sinu Judovega: Ger, oče Lekov, in Laeda, oče Maresov, in rodovine hiše tistih, ki so tkali tenčico, iz hiše Asbea;

²¹Sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er father of Lecah, and Laadah father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the service of fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

²⁴Sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

²⁵tega sin Salum, tega sin Mibsam, tega sin Misma.

²⁵Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

²⁶In sinovi Mismovi: Hamuel, sin njegov, tega sin Zakur, tega sin Simej.

²⁶And sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zacchur his son, Shimei his son.

²⁷Simej pa je imel šestnajst sinov in šest hčer, ali bratje njegovi niso imeli veliko sinov, in vse njih rodovine se niso množile toliko, kolikor sinovi Judovi.

²⁷And to Shimei [are] sixteen sons and six daughters, and to his brethren there are not many sons, and none of their families have multiplied as much as the sons of Judah.

²⁸In prebivali so v Bersebi, Moladi, Hazar-suvalu,

²⁸And they dwell in Beer-Sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shaul,

²⁹v Bilhi, Ezemu, Toladu,

²⁹and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,

³⁰v Betuelu, Hormi, Ziklagu,

³⁰and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,

³¹Bet-markabotu, Hazar-susimu in v Bet-bireju in v Saaraimu. Ta so bila njih mesta do kraljevanja Davidovega.

³¹and in Beth-Marcaboth, and in Hazar-Susim, and in Beth-Birei, and in Shaarim; these [are] their cities till the reigning of David.

³²In njih vasi: Etam in Ajin, Rimon in Tohen in Asan, pet mest

³²And their villages [are] Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,

³³in vse njih vasi, ki so bile okoli teh mest tja do Baala. To so bila njih prebivališča in so imeli svoj rodopis.

³³and all their villages that [are] round about these cities unto Baal; these [are] their dwellings, and they have their genealogy:

³⁴In Mesobab, Jamleh in Josa, sin Amazijev,

³⁴even Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah son of Amaziah,

³⁵in Joel in Jehu, sin Josibijev, sinu Seraja, sinu Asiela,

³⁵and Joel, and Jehu son of Josibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,

³⁶in Eljoenaj, Jaakoba, Jesohaja, Asaja, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaja

³⁶and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

³⁷in Ziza, sin Sifijev, sinu Alona, sinu Jedaja, sinu Simrija, sinu Semaja:

³⁷and Ziza son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.

³⁸ti po imenih omenjeni so bili knezi v svojih rodovinah; in njih očetovske hiše so se množile silno.

³⁸These who are coming in by name [are] princes in their families, and the house of their fathers have broken forth into a multitude;

³⁹In šli so k vhodu v Gedor, proti vzhodu doline, da poiščejo pašnikov svoji drobnici.

³⁹and they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

⁴⁰In našli so obilnih in dobrih pašnikov, in kraj je bil prostran in miren in tih; kajti tisti, ki so ondi nekdaj prebivali, so bili Hamovega rodu.

⁴⁰and they find pasture, fat and good, and the land broad of sides, and quiet, and safe, for of Ham are those dwelling there before.

⁴¹In ti, zapisani po imenih, so prišli v dnevih Ezekija, kralja Judovega, in so razdejali njih šatore in Meunime, ki so bili ondi, in so jih s prokletjem zatrli, do tega dne, in se nastanili na njih mestu; kajti ondi je bila paša za njih drobnico.

⁴¹And these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smite their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction unto this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock [is] there.

⁴²In nekateri iz njih, iz sinov Simeonovih, petsto mož, so šli na Seirsko gorovje, in Pelatija in Nearija in Refaja in Uziel, sinovi Išijevi, so jim bili na čelu.In pobili so ostanek Amalekovcev, ki so bili tja ušli, in nastanili so se ondi do tega dne.

⁴²And of them, of the sons of Simeon, there have gone to mount Seir, five hundred men, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head,

⁴³and they smite the remnant of those escaped of Amalek, and dwell there unto this day.
