¹In poglavarji ljudstva so prebivali v Jeruzalemu. In drugo ljudstvo je žrebalo, da se naroči enemu med desetimi, naj pride prebivat v Jeruzalem, sveto mesto, devet delov pa naj jih ostane v drugih mestih.

¹And the heads of the people dwell in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people have caused to fall lots to bring in one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts in the cities,

²In ljudstvo je blagoslovilo vse može, ki so se rade volje ponudili, da bodo prebivali v Jeruzalemu.

²and the people give a blessing to all the men who are offering themselves willingly to dwell in Jerusalem.

³Ti pa so prvaki pokrajine, ki so prebivali v Jeruzalemu; a po mestih Judovih so prebivali, vsak na svojem posestvu, v mestih svojih, Izraelci, duhovniki in leviti in Netinimci in sinovi hlapcev Salomonovih;

³And these [are] heads of the province who have dwelt in Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, they have dwelt each in his possession in their cities; Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the sons of the servants of Solomon.

⁴in v Jeruzalemu so prebivali nekateri sinov Judovih in sinov Benjaminovih. Iz sinov Judovih: Ataja, sin Uzija, sinu Zeharija, sinu Amarija, sinu Sefatija, sinu Mahalalela, od sinov Perezovih;

⁴And in Jerusalem have dwelt of the sons of Judah, and of the sons of Benjamin. Of the sons of Judah: Athaiah son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalaleel, of the sons of Perez;

⁵in Maaseja, sin Baruka, sinu Kolhozeja, sinu Hasaja, sinu Adaja, sinu Jojariba, sinu Zeharija, sinu Silonita.

⁵and Masseiah son of Baruch, son of Col-Hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of Shiloni;

⁶Vseh sinov Perezovih, ki so prebivali v Jeruzalemu, je bilo štiristo oseminšestdeset junaških mož.

⁶all the sons of Perez who are dwelling in Jerusalem [are] four hundred sixty and eight, men of valour.

⁷Ti pa so sinovi Benjaminovi: Salu, sin Mesulama, sinu Joeda, sinu Pedaja, sinu Kolaja, sinu Maaseja, sinu Itiela, sinu Jesaja.

⁷And these [are] sons of Benjamin: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jesaiah;

⁸In za njim Gabaj, Salaj, devetsto osemindvajset.

⁸and after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred twenty and eight.

⁹In Joel, sin Zihrijev, jim je bil nadzornik, in Juda, sin Hasenujev, je bil drugi nad mestom. –

⁹And Joel son of Zichri [is] inspector over them, and Judah son of Senuah [is] over the city — second.

¹²and their brethren doing the work of the house [are] eight hundred twenty and two; and Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashhur, son of Malchiah,

¹³in njegovih bratov, poglavarjev očetovin, je bilo dvesto dvainštirideset; in Amasaj, sin Azarela, sinu Ahzaja, sinu Mesilemota, sinu Imerja,

¹³and his brethren, heads of fathers, two hundred forty and two; and Amashsai son of Azareel, son of Ahazai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer,

¹⁴in njih bratov, hrabrih junakov, sto osemindvajset. In nadzornik jim je bil Zabdiel, sin Hagedolimov.

¹⁴and their brethren, mighty of valour, a hundred twenty and eight; and an inspector over them [is] Zabdiel, son of [one of] the great men.

¹⁵In iz levitov: Semaja, sin Hašuba, sinu Azrikama, sinu Hasabija, sinu Bunija,

¹⁵And of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hashub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni,

¹⁶in Sabetaj in Jozabad, iz levitskih načelnikov, ki sta bila nad zunanjim delom pri hiši Božji;

¹⁶and Shabbethai, and Jozabad, [are] over the outward work of the house of God, of the heads of the Levites,

¹⁷in Matanija, sin Mika, sinu Zabdija, sinu Asafa, ki je bil vodja in je začenjal hvalopetje ob molitvi; in Bakbukija, drugi med svojimi brati, in Abda, sin Samua, sinu Galala, sinu Jedutuna.

¹⁷and Mattaniah son of Micha, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, [is] head — at the commencement he giveth thanks in prayer; and Bakbukiah [is] second among his brethren, and Abda son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.

¹⁸Vseh levitov v svetem mestu je bilo dvesto štiriinosemdeset.

¹⁸All the Levites, in the holy city, [are] two hundred eighty and four.

¹⁹Dalje vratarji, Akub, Talmon in njiju bratov, ki so čuvali pri vratih, je bilo sto dvainsedemdeset.

¹⁹And the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren, those watching at the gates, [are] a hundred seventy and two.

²⁰Drugi Izraelci pa, duhovniki in leviti, so bili po vseh mestih Judovih, vsak na svojem posestvu.

²⁰And the rest of Israel, of the priests, of the Levites, [are] in all cities of Judah, each in his inheritance;

²¹A Netinimci so prebivali na Ofelu, in Ziha in Gispa sta bila nad Netinimci.

²¹and the Nethinim are dwelling in Ophel, and Ziha and Gishpa [are] over the Nethinim.

²²In v Jeruzalemu je bil nadzornik levitom Uzi, sin Banija, sinu Hasabija, sinu Matanija, sinu Mika, iz sinov Asafovih, pevcev za službo hiše Božje.

²²And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem [is] Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micha: of the sons of Asaph, the singers [are] over-against the work of the house of God,

²³Kajti bila je zapoved kraljeva o njih in določen živež pevcem, kolikor je bilo vsak dan treba.

²³for the command of the king [is] upon them, and support [is] for the singers, a matter of a day in its day.

²⁴In Petahija, sin Mesezabelov, iz sinov Zeraha, sinu Judovega, je bil kralju pri roki v vsem, kar je zadevalo ljudstvo.

²⁴And Pethahiah son of Meshezabeel, of the sons of Zerah, son of Judah, [is] by the hand of the king, for every matter of the people.

²⁵In po vaseh na svojem polju so prebivali nekateri sinov Judovih v Kirjat-arbi in njenih podložnih selih in v Dibonu in njemu podložnih vaseh in v Jekabzeelu in njemu podložnih vaseh,

²⁵And at the villages with their fields, of the sons of Judah there have dwelt, in Kirjath-Arba and its small towns, and in Dibon and its small towns, and in Jekabzeel and its villages,

²⁶in v Jesui in v Moladi in Betpeletu

²⁶and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth-Phelet,

²⁷in v Hazar-sualu in v Bersebi in njenih podložnih vaseh,

²⁷and in Hazar-Shaul, and in Beer-Sheba and its small towns,

²⁸in v Ziklagu in v Mekoni in v njenih podložnih vaseh,

²⁸and in Ziklag, and in Mekonah and in its small towns,

²⁹in v En-rimonu in v Zori in v Jarmutu,

²⁹and En-Rimmon, and in Zareah, and in Jarmuth,

³⁰v Zanoahu, v Adulamu in njemu podložnih vaseh, v Lahisu in na njegovem polju, v Azeki in njenih podložnih vaseh. In šatorili so od Bersebe do doline Hinomove.

³⁰Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, Azekah and its small towns; and they encamp from Beer-Sheba unto the valley of Hinnom.

³¹Sinovi Benjaminovi so tudi prebivali od Gebe naprej v Mikmasu in v Aju in v Betelu in njegovih podložnih vaseh,

³¹And sons of Benjamin [are] at Geba, Michmash, and Aija, and Beth-El, and its small towns,

³²v Anatotu, Nobu, Ananiji,

³²Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

³³Hazorju, Rami, Gitaimu,

³³Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

³⁴Hadidu, Zeboimu, Nebalatu,

³⁴Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

³⁵Lodu in v Onu, dolini obrtnikov.In od levitov nekateri oddelki Judovi so se pridružili Benjaminu.
