¹Ti pa, sin človečji, prorokuj o gorah Izraelovih in reci: Gore Izraelove, čujte besedo GOSPODOVO!

¹You, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of Yahweh.

²Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Ker govori sovražnik o vas: Aha! In: Te večne višave nam so dane v posest!

²Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the enemy has said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;

³zato prorokuj in reci: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Zato, prav zato, ker so vas pustošili in požirali od vseh strani, da postanete posest ostanku poganskih narodov, in ste prišle v govorico jezikom in v slab glas pri ljudeh:

³therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the residue of the nations, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;

⁴zato, o gore Izraelove, čujte besedo Gospoda Jehove: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova goram in hribom, globinam in dolinam, pustim razvalinam in mestom zapuščenim, ki so postala plen in zasmeh ostanku poganskih narodov, ki so okoli:

⁴therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are all around;

⁵zatorej pravi tako Gospod Jehova: Resnično, v ognju gorečnosti svoje sem govoril zoper ostanek tistih narodov in zoper ves Edom, ki so določili deželo mojo sebi v posest z vso radostjo svojega srca in z vsem zaničevanjem duše, da bi jo izpraznili in oplenili.

⁵therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.

⁶Zato prorokuj o zemlji Izraelovi in reci goram in hribom, globinam in dolinam: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Glejte, v gorečnosti svoji in v jezi svoji sem govoril, ker ste trpeli zasrambo poganov.

⁶Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and tell the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you have borne the shame of the nations:

⁷Zato pravi tako Gospod Jehova: Jaz sem povzdignil roko svojo, rekoč: Gotovo morajo pogani, ki so okoli vas, trpeti zasrambo svojo!

⁷therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: I have sworn, saying , Surely the nations that are around you, they shall bear their shame.

⁸Ali ve, gore Izraelove, poganjajte svoje mladike in rodite svoj sad ljudstvu mojemu, Izraelu, kajti blizu so, da pridejo.

⁸But you, mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.

⁹Zakaj, glejte, jaz sem za vas in se obrnem k vam, da vas bodo obdelovali in obsevali.

⁹For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn into you, and you shall be tilled and sown;

¹⁰In pomnožim na vas ljudi, vso družino Izraelovo, vso vkup; in v mestih se bo prebivalo in razvaline se bodo nanovo sezidale.

¹⁰and I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built;

¹¹In pomnožim na vas ljudi in živino, in bodo se množili ter bodo rodovitni, in storim, da boste naseljene kakor v prejšnjih vaših časih, in obsujem vas z dobrotami bolj nego v vašem začetku. In spoznate, da sem jaz GOSPOD.

¹¹and I will multiply on you man and animal; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better to you than at your beginnings: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

¹²In storim, da bodo ljudje, ljudstvo moje Izraelovo, po vas hodili in vas imeli v lasti, in bodete jim v dediščino ter jih nikdar več ne napravite brez zaroda.

¹²Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no more henceforth bereave them of children.

¹³Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Zato ker vam pravijo: Ti, dežela, žreš ljudi in pripravljaš narod svoj ob otroke –

¹³Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because they say to you, You are a devourer of men, and have been a bereaver of your nation;

¹⁴zato ne boš več žrla ljudi, tudi ne pripravljala ob otroke naroda svojega, govori Gospod Jehova.

¹⁴therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nation any more, says the Lord Yahweh;

¹⁵Tudi ti ne dam več slišati zasrambe poganov in roganja ljudstev ne boš več trpela in naroda svojega ne boš več spravljala v spotiko.

¹⁵neither will I let you hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shall you bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shall you cause your nation to stumble any more, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁶Še mi je prišla beseda GOSPODOVA, govoreč:

¹⁶Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁷Sin človečji, ko je prebivala družina Izraelova v svoji deželi, so jo ognušali s svojimi dejanjem in ravnanjem; njih dejanje je bilo pred menoj kakor nečistost žene v nje bolezni.

¹⁷Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.

¹⁸Zato sem izlil jezo svojo nadnje zavoljo krvi, ki so jo prelili v deželi, in ker so jo ognusili z grdimi maliki svojimi.

¹⁸Therefore I poured out my wrath on them for the blood which they had poured out on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;

¹⁹In razkropil sem jih med narode in bili so raztreseni po deželah: po njih dejanju in ravnanju sem jih sodil.

¹⁹and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

²⁰In ko so prišli k narodom, kamorkoli so dospeli, so oskrunili ime svetosti moje, ker se je pravilo o njih: Ljudstvo GOSPODOVO je in iz dežele njegove so prišli.

²⁰When they came to the nations, where they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Yahweh, and are gone forth out of his land.

²¹A meni se smili imena svetosti moje, ki ga je oskrunila družina Izraelova, kamorkoli so prišli.

²¹But I had respect for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, where they went.

²²Zato govóri družini Izraelovi: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Ne storim tega zaradi vas, o družina Izraelova, marveč zaradi imena svetosti svoje, ki ste ga oskrunili med narodi, kamorkoli ste prišli.

²²Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I don’t do this for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations, where you went.

²³Posvetim zopet svoje veliko ime, ki je bilo oskrunjeno med narodi, ki ste ga vi oskrunili sredi njih. In spoznajo narodi, da sem jaz GOSPOD, govori Gospod Jehova, ko se izkažem svetega na vas pred njih očmi.

²³I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, says the Lord Yahweh, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

²⁴Vzamem vas namreč izmed narodov in vas zberem iz vseh dežel in pripeljem v deželo vašo.

²⁴For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

²⁵In pokropim vas s čisto vodo, da bodete čisti: vseh nečistot vaših in vseh grdih malikov vaših vas očistim.

²⁵I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

²⁶In dam vam novo srce in novega duha denem v vas, in vzamem kameneno srce iz telesa vašega in dam vam meseno srce.

²⁶I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

²⁷In vdahnem v vas duha svojega in storim, da boste živeli po mojih postavah ter hranili in izpolnjevali sodbe moje.

²⁷I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.

²⁸In prebivali boste v deželi, ki sem jo dal očetom vašim, in bodete mi ljudstvo in jaz vam bodem Bog.

²⁸You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

²⁹In oprostim vas vseh nečistosti vaših; in pokličem žita, ter ga razmnožim, in lakote vam več ne naložim.

²⁹I will save you from all your uncleanness: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.

³⁰Tudi pomnožim sad dreves in pridelke polja, da bi vas ne zadel več posmeh med narodi zavoljo lakote.

³⁰I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

³¹Tedaj se spomnite hudobnih potov in dejanj svojih, ki niso bila dobra, in sami sebi se boste studili zavoljo krivic in gnusob svojih.

³¹Then you shall remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

³²Ne zaradi vas storim to, pravi Gospod Jehova, pomnite to! sramujte se in rdečica naj vas oblije zavoljo dejanj vaših, o družina Izraelova!

³²Nor for your sake do I this, says the Lord Yahweh, be it known to you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, house of Israel.

³³Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Tisti dan, ko vas očistim vseh krivic vaših, storim, da se bo prebivalo v mestih vaših in se bodo nanovo sezidale razvaline.

³³Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.

³⁴In dežela, ki je bila opustošena, se bo obdelovala; ne bo več puščava pred očmi slehernega, ki gre mimo.

³⁴The land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all who passed by.

³⁵In bodo pravili: Ta dežela, ki je bila opustošena, je postala kakor vrt v Edenu, in opustošena in zapuščena in porušena mesta so utrjena ter prebivajo v njih.

³⁵They shall say, This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.

³⁶Tedaj spoznajo narodi, ki preostanejo okoli vas, da jaz, GOSPOD, gradim, kar je porušeno, in obsajam, kar je opustošeno. Jaz, GOSPOD, sem govoril, jaz tudi storim to.

³⁶Then the nations that are left around you shall know that I, Yahweh, have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and I will do it.

³⁷Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Tudi še v tem se dam izprositi družini Izraelovi, da jim to izpolnim: Pomnožil jih bom z ljudmi kakor čredo.Kakor sveta čreda, kakor čreda Jeruzalema ob njegovih praznikih, tako bodo mesta, prej opustošena, polna čred ljudi. In spoznajo, da sem jaz GOSPOD.

³⁷Thus says the Lord Yahweh: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.

³⁸Kakor sveta čreda, kakor čreda Jeruzalema ob njegovih praznikih, tako bodo mesta, prej opustošena, polna čred ljudi. In spoznajo, da sem jaz GOSPOD.

³⁸As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
