¹Roka GOSPODOVA je bila nad menoj, in peljal me je ven v duhu GOSPODOVEM in me je postavil sredi doline, in ta je bila polna kosti.

¹The hand of Yahweh was on me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Yahweh, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

²In mi je velel iti mimo njih kroginkrog; in glej, bilo jih je silno veliko po dolini, in glej, bile so silno usehle.

²He caused me to pass by them all around: and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and behold, they were very dry.

³In mi reče: Sin človečji, bodo li te kosti oživele? In odgovorim: Gospod Jehova, ti veš!

³He said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? I answered, Lord Yahweh, you know.

⁴Tedaj mi veli: Prorokuj nad temi kostmi in jim reci: O kosti usehle, čujte besedo GOSPODOVO!

⁴Again he said to me, Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, you dry bones, hear the word of Yahweh.

⁵Tako pravi Gospod Jehova tem kostem: Glejte, jaz pošljem duha v vas, da oživite.

⁵Thus says the Lord Yahweh to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

⁶S kitami vas obložim in storim, da zraste meso na vas, in s kožo vas odenem ter dam duha v vas, in oživite. In spoznate, da sem jaz GOSPOD.

⁶I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁷In prorokoval sem, kakor mi je bilo ukazano. In nastane šumenje, ko prorokujem, in glej, gibanje: kosti rinejo k sebi, kost h kosti svoji.

⁷So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, an earthquake; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

⁸In gledam, in glej: kite so bile na njih in meso je zraslo in koža jih je odela povrhu; ali duha ni bilo v njih.

⁸I saw, and, behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

⁹Tedaj mi veli: Prorokuj duhu, prorokuj, sin človečji, in reci duhu: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Od štirih vetrov pridi, o duh, in dihni v te pobite, da ožive!

⁹Then he said to me, Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and tell the wind, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.

¹⁰In prorokoval sem, kakor mi je ukazal; in prišel je duh vanje. In oživele so in stopile pokonci – prav silno velika vojska.

¹⁰So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

¹¹In mi reče: Sin človečji, te kosti so vsa družina Izraelova. Glej, oni govore: Kosti naše so usehle in upanje naše je izginilo; izgubljeni smo!

¹¹Then he said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.

¹²Zato prorokuj in jim reci: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Glejte, jaz odprem grobe vaše in vas, ljudstvo svoje, izpeljem iz grobov vaših in vas privedem v zemljo Izraelovo.

¹²Therefore prophesy, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.

¹³In spoznate, da sem jaz GOSPOD, kadar odprem grobe vaše ter vas izpeljem iz grobov vaših, ljudstvo svoje.

¹³You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have opened your graves, and caused you to come up out of your graves, my people.

¹⁴In dam duha svojega v vas, da živite, in vas naselim v vaši zemlji. In zvedeli boste, da sem jaz GOSPOD rekel in izvršil to, govori GOSPOD.

¹⁴I will put my Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land: and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it and performed it, says Yahweh.

¹⁵In beseda GOSPODOVA mi je prišla, govoreč:

¹⁵The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

¹⁶In ti, sin človečji, si vzemi les ter zapiši nanj: Judi in sinovom Izraelovim, tovarišem njegovim. In vzemi drug les in zapiši nanj: Jožefu, les Efraimov in vse družine Izraelove, tovarišev njegovih.

¹⁶You, son of man, take one stick, and write on it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

¹⁷In ju združi drug z drugim, sebi v eno drevo, da bodeta zedinjena v roki tvoji.

¹⁷and join them for you one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.

¹⁸In kadar te ogovore ljudstva tvojega sinovi, rekoč: Ali nam ne naznaniš, kaj ti pomeni to?

¹⁸When the children of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not show us what you mean by these?

¹⁹jim reci: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Glejte, jaz vzamem les Jožefov, ki je v roki Efraimovi, in rodove Izraelove, tovariše njegove, in jih pridenem njemu, lesu Judovemu, in jih storim v eno drevo, da bodo zedinjeni v roki moji.

¹⁹tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them with it, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.

²⁰Lesova pa, na katera si pisal, imej v roki pred njih očmi.

²⁰The sticks whereon you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.

²¹In jim govori: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Glejte, jaz vzamem sinove Izraelove izmed narodov, kamorkoli so prišli, in jih zberem z vseh strani ter jih pripeljem v njih zemljo

²¹Say to them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, where they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

²²in jih združim v eno ljudstvo v deželi, na gorah Izraelovih in en kralj bo vsem kraljeval in ne bodo več v dva naroda in se ne bodo delili več v dve kraljestvi.

²²and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all;

²³Tudi se ne bodo več oskrunjali z grdimi maliki in z ostudami svojimi, ne s katerokoli iz pregreh svojih; in rešim jih iz vseh prebivališč, v katerih so grešili, ter jih očistim: in bodo mi ljudstvo in jaz jim bodem Bog.

²³neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

²⁴In moj hlapec David bode kralj nad njimi in vsem bode eden pastir; in živeli bodo po sodbah mojih in postave moje bodo hranili in jih izpolnjevali.

²⁴My servant David shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them.

²⁵In prebivali bodo v deželi, ki sem jo dal Jakobu, hlapcu svojemu, ki so v njej prebivali očetje vaši; in domovali bodo v njej oni, njih sinovi in njih sinov otroci vekomaj; in moj hlapec David jim bode knez na veke.

²⁵They shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant, in which your fathers lived; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children’s children, forever: and David my servant shall be their prince for ever.

²⁶In sklenem ž njimi zavezo miru, večna zaveza jim bode, in jih naselim ter jim pomnožim in postavim svetišče svoje v njih sredi na vekomaj.

²⁶Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

²⁷In prebivališče moje bode nad njimi, in bodem jim Bog in oni mi bodo ljudstvo.In narodi spoznajo, da sem jaz GOSPOD, ki posvečujem Izraela, ko bode svetišče moje v njih sredi na vekomaj.

²⁷My tent also shall be with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

²⁸In narodi spoznajo, da sem jaz GOSPOD, ki posvečujem Izraela, ko bode svetišče moje v njih sredi na vekomaj.

²⁸The nations shall know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in their midst forevermore.
