¹Kdo je veroval oznanilu našemu in komu se je razodela rama GOSPODOVA?

¹Who has believed our message? To whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?

²Kajti on je vzrastel kakor mladika pred njim in kakor korenina iz suhe zemlje. Ni imel podobe, ne lepote; in ko smo ga videli, ni imel mične zunanjosti, da bi si ga bili želeli.

²For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

³Zaničevan je bil in preziran med možmi, mož bolečin in izkušen v trpljenju, in kakor človek, pred katerim skrivajo obličje, je bil zaničevan, in nič ga nismo čislali.

³He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.

⁴Zares, on je nosil bolezni naše in si je naložil bolečine naše; mi pa ga smo šteli za kaznjenega, ki ga je Bog udaril in ponižal.

⁴Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.

⁵A on je bil ranjen zaradi naših prestopkov, je bil potrt zaradi naših krivic; kazen ga je zadela zaradi našega miru in rane njegove so bile nam v ozdravljenje.

⁵But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.

⁶Mi vsi smo tavali kakor ovce, obrnili smo se vsak na svoj pot; in GOSPOD mu je naložil nas vseh krivice.

⁶All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

⁷Mučili so ga, a ponižal se je in ni odprl ust svojih kakor jagnje, ki ga peljejo v zakol, in kakor ovca, ki molči pred strižci svojimi; in ni odprl svojih ust.

⁷He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn’t open his mouth.

⁸Iz stiske in iz sodbe je bil vzet – a izmed njegovih vrstnikov kdo je pomislil, da je bil odrezan iz dežele živečih? zaradi prestopka ljudstva mojega ga je zadel udarec.

⁸He was taken away by oppression and judgment; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?

⁹In dali so mu grob pri brezbožnih, a pri bogatinu je bil po mučni smrti svoji, zato ker ni storil krivice in ni bilo zvijače v ustih njegovih.

⁹They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

¹⁰Ali GOSPOD ga je hotel streti, on ga je izročil trpljenju. Ko izvrši duša njegova daritev za greh, bo videl zarod, podaljšal dni svoje, in kar je GOSPODU po volji, bo uspevalo v roki njegovi.

¹⁰Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Yahweh shall prosper in his hand.

¹¹Od nadloge duše svoje bo videl sad in se sitil. S poznanjem svojim bo pravični hlapec moj mnoge storil pravične; in njih krivice bo naložil nase.Zato mu dam velike v delež in delil bo plen z mogočnimi; zato ker je žrtvoval dušo svojo v smrt in je bil grešnikom prištet; on je nesel greh mnogih in prosil za grešnike.

¹¹After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light So read the Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint. Masoretic Text omits “the light”. and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.

¹²Zato mu dam velike v delež in delil bo plen z mogočnimi; zato ker je žrtvoval dušo svojo v smrt in je bil grešnikom prištet; on je nesel greh mnogih in prosil za grešnike.

¹²Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
