1Prepevaj, nerodovitna, ki nisi rodila; vdaj se radosti in glasno vpij, ki nisi trpela porodnih bolečin! zakaj več sinov bo imela zapuščena nego omožena, pravi GOSPOD.
1“Sing, barren, you who didn’t bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says Yahweh.
2Razširi prostor šatora svojega in pregrinjala stanov tvojih naj raztegnejo, ne brani! Podaljšaj vrvi svoje in kole svoje pritrdi!
2“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations; don’t spare: lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.
3Kajti na desno in na levo prodereš in seme tvoje podeduje narode in opustošena mesta napolni z ljudmi.
3For you shall spread out on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4Ne boj se, ker ne boš osramočena, in ne bodi oblita z nečastjo, ker ne prideš v sramoto; temuč sramoto mladosti svoje pozabiš in vdovstva svojega nečasti se ne boš več spominjala.
4“Don’t be afraid; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be confounded; for you shall not be disappointed: for you shall forget the shame of your youth; and the reproach of your widowhood you shall remember no more.
5Kajti soprog tvoj je on, ki te je ustvaril, GOSPOD nad vojskami je ime njegovo; in odrešenik tvoj je Svetnik Izraelov; Bog vse zemlje se bo imenoval.
5For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6Zakaj kakor ženo zapuščeno, žalostno v srcu te pokliče GOSPOD, kakor ženo mladosti, ko je zavržena, pravi Bog tvoj.
6For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.
7Za kratek trenotek sem te bil zapustil, ali zberem te z usmiljenjem velikim;
7“For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you.
8v nekolikem srdu sem bil za trenotek skril obličje svoje pred teboj, ali v večni milosti se te usmilim, govori GOSPOD, odrešenik tvoj.
8In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting loving kindness will I have mercy on you,” says Yahweh your Redeemer.
9Kajti kakor vode Noetove mi je to: kakor sem prisegel, da ne pridejo več vode Noetove na zemljo, tako sem prisegel, da se ne razsrdim zoper tebe in te ne pokaram.
9“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10Kajti gore se bodo pač umeknile in hribi se genili, a milost moja se ne umakne od tebe in miru mojega zaveza se ne gane, govori GOSPOD, milostnik tvoj.
10For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you.
11O ubožica, ki te preganjajo nevihte, ki nimaš tolažbe! glej, jaz položim kamene tvoje v svinčeni sijajnik in v podstavo ti denem safire;
11“You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.
12in iz rubina naredim line tvoje in vrata tvoja iz ognjencev in vso mejo tvojo iz milovidnih kamenov.
12I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
13In vsi otroci tvoji bodo učenci GOSPODOVI in obilen mir bode otrokom tvojim.
13All your children shall be taught of Yahweh; and great shall be the peace of your children.
14Po pravičnosti boš utrjena. Daleč se umakni bridkosti, ker se ti ni ničesar bati, in strahu, ker se ti ne bo bližal.
14In righteousness you shall be established: you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not be afraid; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15Glej, čeprav se zbirajo zoper tebe, to ni od mene; kdor se zbira zoper tebe, pade ob tebi.
15Behold, they may gather together, but not by me: whoever shall gather together against you shall fall because of you.
16Glej, jaz sem ustvaril kovača, ki piha v goreče oglje in nareja orodje za delo svoje; enako sem jaz ustvaril morilca, da pokončuje.Nobeno orodje, narejeno zoper tebe, ne bo imelo uspeha, in sleherni jezik, ki se postavi zoper tebe na sodbo, obsodiš. To je dediščina hlapcev GOSPODOVIH in njih pravičnost, ki prihaja od mene, govori GOSPOD.
16“Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17Nobeno orodje, narejeno zoper tebe, ne bo imelo uspeha, in sleherni jezik, ki se postavi zoper tebe na sodbo, obsodiš. To je dediščina hlapcev GOSPODOVIH in njih pravičnost, ki prihaja od mene, govori GOSPOD.
17No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness which is of me,” says Yahweh.
