1Hej, vsi, katerikoli ste žejni, pridite k vodam, in kateri nimate denarja, pridite, kupite in jejte! Pridite, pravim, kupite brez denarja in brez plačila vina in mleka!
1“Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2Čemu trošite denar za to, kar ni kruh, in trud svoj za to, kar ne more nasititi? Poslušajte vendar mene in jejte, kar je dobro, in tolstino veselo uživaj duša vaša!
2Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3Nagnite uho in pridite k meni, poslušajte, in duša vaša bo živela! In sklenem z vami zavezo večno: milosti Davidove, stanovitne.
3Turn your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4Glej, za pričo narodom sem ga postavil, za vojvodo in zapovednika narodom.
4Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.
5Glej, rod, ki ga nisi spoznal, pokličeš, in rodovi, ki te niso spoznali, priteko k tebi, zaradi GOSPODA, Boga tvojega, in zavoljo Svetnika Izraelovega, ker te je oslavil.
5Behold, you shall call a nation that you don’t know; and a nation that didn’t know you shall run to you, because of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.”
6Iščite GOSPODA, dokler ga morete najti, kličite ga, dokler je blizu!
6Seek Yahweh while he may be found; call you on him while he is near:
7Zapusti naj brezbožnik pot svoj in mož krivični misli svoje in povrni se h GOSPODU, in usmilil se ga bo, in k Bogu našemu, ker je bogat v odpuščanju.
7let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8Kajti misli moje niso vaše misli, tudi vaša pota niso moja pota, pravi GOSPOD.
8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” says Yahweh.
9Marveč kakor so nebesa višja od zemlje, tako so pota moja višja nego vaša pota in misli moje nego vaše misli.
9“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10Kajti kakor pada dež ali sneg z neba in se ne vrača tja, temuč napaja zemljo ter jo dela rodovitno, da iz nje raste, da daje seme sejalcu in lačnemu kruh:
10For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11tako bode beseda moja, ki prihaja iz mojih ust: ne povrne se k meni prazna, temuč izvrši, kar me veseli, in bo uspeh imela v tem, za kar jo pošljem.
11so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.
12Zakaj z radostjo izidete in z mirom vas bodo spremljali; gore in hribi zaženo pred vami radostno vpitje in vsa drevesa poljska bodo z rokami ploskala.Namesto grmovja zrastejo ciprese, namesto koprive vstane mirta: in bode GOSPODU v slavno ime, v znamenje večno, ki se ne iztrebi.
12For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands.
13Namesto grmovja zrastejo ciprese, namesto koprive vstane mirta: in bode GOSPODU v slavno ime, v znamenje večno, ki se ne iztrebi.
13Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to Yahweh for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
