¹Tako pravi GOSPOD: Idi doli v hišo kralja Judovega in govóri tam to besedo

¹Thus said Yahweh: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

²in reci: Poslušaj besedo GOSPODOVO, kralj Judov, ki sediš na prestolu Davidovem, ti in hlapci tvoji in ljudstvo tvoje, ki hodite skozi ta vrata.

²Say, Hear the word of Yahweh, king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.

³Tako pravi GOSPOD: Strezite sodbi in pravičnosti in otmite ga, ki trpi rop, iz roke zatiralca; tujcu, siroti in vdovi ne delajte sile, ne bodite siloviti ter nedolžne krvi ne prelivajte v tem kraju.

³Thus says Yahweh: Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the foreigner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place.

⁴Kajti če boste res izpolnjevali to besedo, pojdejo skozi vrata te hiše kralji, sedeči za Davida na prestolu njegovem, na vozovih in na konjih, sam kralj s hlapci svojimi in z ljudstvom svojim.

⁴For if you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

⁵Toda če ne boste poslušali teh besed, pri sebi prisegam, govori GOSPOD, da pride v razdejanje ta hiša.

⁵But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself, says Yahweh, that this house shall become a desolation.

⁶Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD o hiši kralja Judovega: Gilead si mi, glava Libanona; resnično te premenim v puščavo, v mesto brez prebivalca.

⁶For thus says Yahweh concerning the house of the king of Judah: You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.

⁷In pripravim zoper tebe pogubnike, vsakega z orodjem svojim, ki posekajo najlepše cedre tvoje in jih vržejo na ogenj.

⁷I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons; and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

⁸Ko torej pojdejo mnoga ljudstva mimo tega mesta, če vprašajo drug drugega: Zakaj je GOSPOD storil tako temu velikemu mestu?

⁸Many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Why has Yahweh done thus to this great city?

⁹tedaj poreko: Zato ker so zapustili zavezo GOSPODA, Boga svojega, in so se klanjali tujim bogovom ter jih častili.

⁹Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh their God, and worshiped other gods, and served them.

¹⁰Ne jokajte po mrtvem in ne tožite po njem; pač pa jokajte po odhajajočem, ker se ne povrne več, da bi videl svoje domovine.

¹⁰Don’t weep for the dead, neither bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

¹¹Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD o Salumu [se imenuje Joahaz.], sinu Josijevem, kralju Judovem, ki je vladal namesto Josija, očeta svojega, in ki je odšel iz tega kraja: Ne povrne se več sem,

¹¹For thus says Yahweh touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went forth out of this place: He shall not return there any more.

¹²ampak v kraju, kamor so ga odpeljali, tam umrje; in ne bo več videl te dežele.

¹²But in the place where they have led him captive, there shall he die, and he shall see this land no more.

¹³Gorje mu, kdor zida hišo svojo s krivico in izbe svoje z nepravičnostjo, ki zastonj zahteva hlapčevanje prijatelja svojega in mu ne daje zaslužka njegovega;

¹³Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire;

¹⁴ki govori: „Sezidam si hišo prostorno in izbe obširne“, in si napravi mnogo oken in cedrovo streho in stene prebarva z rumenico.

¹⁴who says, I will build me a wide house and spacious rooms, and cuts him out windows; and it is ceiling with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

¹⁵Boš li zato kraljeval, ker se hočeš odlikovati s cedrovino? Ali ni jedel in pil tvoj oče in delal pravice in pravičnosti? Takrat se mu je godilo dobro.

¹⁵Shall you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? then it was well with him.

¹⁶Sodil je pravdo siromakovo in ubožčevo, tedaj je bilo dobro. Se li to ne pravi: spoznati mene? govori GOSPOD.

¹⁶He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me? says Yahweh.

¹⁷Nikamor ne gledajo oči tvoje in srce tvoje kakor na dobiček tvoj in na nedolžno kri, katero bi prelival, in na odiranje in na zatiranje, katero bi počenjal.

¹⁷But your eyes and your heart are not but for your covetousness, and for shedding innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

¹⁸Zatorej govori tako GOSPOD o Jojakimu, sinu Josijevem, kralju Judovem: Ne bodo se jokali za njim: Gorje, moj brat, ali: Gorje, sestra! Ne bodo se jokali za njim: Gorje, gospod, ali: Gorje, lepota njegova!

¹⁸Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! They shall not lament for him, saying Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

¹⁹Kakor osel bo pokopan, vlekli ga bodo in vrgli onkraj vrat jeruzalemskih.

¹⁹He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

²⁰Pojdi gori na Libanon in vpij in na Basanu povzdigni svoj glas; vpij tudi z Abarima, kajti pobiti so vsi ljubitelji tvoji.

²⁰Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers are destroyed.

²¹Govoril sem ti v blagostanju tvojem; rekla si: Ne bom poslušala. Ta je bila pot tvoja od otročjih let tvojih, da nisi poslušala mojega glasú.

²¹I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you said, I will not hear. This has been your way from your youth, that you didn’t obey my voice.

²²Vse pastirje tvoje odnese veter in ljubitelji tvoji odidejo v sužnost. Res, tedaj te bode sram in z rdečico se obliješ zavoljo vse hudobnosti svoje.

²²The wind shall feed all your shepherds, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

²³O ti, ki posedaš na Libanonu, ki gnezdiš na samih cedrah, koliko boš pomilovanja vredna, ko te popadejo muke, bolečina kakor porodnice!

²³Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

²⁴Kakor res živim jaz, govori GOSPOD: ko bi bil tudi Konija, sin Jojakima, kralja Judovega, pečatni prstan na desni roki moji, vendar bi te odtrgal odondod.

²⁴As I live, says Yahweh, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, yet would I pluck you there;

²⁵In izdam te v roko tistih, ki iščejo duše tvoje, in v roko njih, ki se jih bojiš, namreč v roko Nebukadnezarja, kralja babilonskega, in v roko Kaldejcev.

²⁵and I will give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

²⁶In vržem te ven in mater tvojo, ki te je rodila, v tujo deželo, kjer nista bila rojena, in tam umreta.

²⁶I will cast you out, and your mother who bore you, into another country, where you were not born; and there you will die.

²⁷V deželo pa, kamor jih bo vleklo hrepenenje, da bi se povrnili tja, tja se ne vrnejo.

²⁷But to the land whereunto their soul longs to return, there shall they not return.

²⁸Ali je tisti mož, Konija, zaničevana, razbita posoda? je li orodje, v katerem ni nobenega veselja? Zakaj bi bili ven vrženi, on in seme njegovo, in vrženi v deželo, katere ne poznajo?

²⁸Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel in which none delights? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they don’t know?

²⁹O dežela, dežela, dežela, poslušaj besedo GOSPODOVO!Tako pravi GOSPOD: Zapišite tega moža, da bode brez otrok, mož, ki ne bo imel sreče v svojih dneh; kajti nobeden ne bo imel sreče iz zaroda njegovega, da bi sedel na prestolu Davidovem in gospodoval dalje Judi.

²⁹O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Yahweh.

³⁰Tako pravi GOSPOD: Zapišite tega moža, da bode brez otrok, mož, ki ne bo imel sreče v svojih dneh; kajti nobeden ne bo imel sreče iz zaroda njegovega, da bi sedel na prestolu Davidovem in gospodoval dalje Judi.

³⁰Thus says Yahweh, Write you this man childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days; for no more shall a man of his seed prosper, sitting on the throne of David, and ruling in Judah.
