2Nesrečo napravljaš z jezikom svojim, podoben je ostri britvi, ti zvijače snovatelj!
2Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3Hudo ljubiš bolj ko dobro, laž bolj ko govorico pravice. (Sela.)
3You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah.
4Ljubiš zgolj besede pogubne, o jezik zvijačni.
4You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.
5Zatorej te tudi Bog mogočni podere na vekomaj, zgrabi te in prežene iz šatora tvojega, in s korenom te izpuli iz dežele živečih. (Sela.)
5God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.
6To bodo videli pravični v božjem strahu in njemu se smejali:

7Glejte onega moža, ki si ni vzel Boga za brambo, marveč se je zanašal na bogastva svojega obilost in utrjeval se v hudobnosti svoji.
7“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
8Jaz pa sem kakor oljka zeleneča v hiši Božji, upam v milost Božjo vselej in vekomaj.Slavil te bom vekomaj, ker si storil to; in čakal bom imena tvojega, ker je dobro, vpričo svetih tvojih.
8But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.
