1{Načelniku godbe. Psalm Davidov.} Čuj, o Bog, glas moj, ko žalujem, strahu sovražnikovega varuj življenje moje!
1Hear my voice, God, in my complaint. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2Skrivaj me skrivnemu naklepu hudobnih, hrumeči množici njih, ki delajo krivico;
2Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;
3ki so nabrusili kakor meč jezik svoj, namerili pšico – grenko besedo,
3who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim their arrows, deadly words,
4da ustrele iz zakotja nedolžnega; nenadoma streljajo vanj in se nič ne boje.
4to shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.
5Potrjujejo si hudobni dogovor, pogovarjajo se, kako naj skrijejo zanke, pravijo: Kdo bi jih videl?
5They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say, “Who will see them?”
6Izmišljajo si hudobije: Dognali smo, pravijo, zvit naklep! In notranje mišljenje vsakega in srce je pregloboko.
6They plot injustice, saying, “We have made a perfect plan!” Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.
7Ali Bog ustreli vanje, naglo prileti pšica, hipoma bodo ranjeni
7But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.
8in pasti morajo; naklep njih jezika pride nadnje; kdorkoli jih bo videl, bo majal z glavo.
8Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.
9In vsi ljudje se bodo bali in oznanjali delo Božje in premišljevali dejanje njegovo.Veselil se bo pravični v GOSPODU in upal vanj, in hvalili se bodo vsi, ki so pravega srca.
9All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done.
10Veselil se bo pravični v GOSPODU in upal vanj, in hvalili se bodo vsi, ki so pravega srca.
10The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh, and shall take refuge in him. All the upright in heart shall praise him!
