²Jaz pa – malo da se niso spoteknile noge moje, skoraj nič, da niso izpoddrsnili koraki moji.

³Zakaj zavidal sem prevzetnikom, ko sem gledal brezbožnih blagostanje.

³For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

⁴Ker ni ga trpljenja do njih smrti, poln zdravja je njih život.

⁴For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.

⁵Njim se ni truditi kakor drugim smrtnikom, in kakor druge ljudi jih ne tepo nadloge.

⁵They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.

⁶Zato jim je ošabnost okrog vratu kot verižica, silovitost jih pokriva kakor obleka.

⁶Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.

⁷Oči jim gledajo debele iz polti zalite, v domišljavosti srca prestopajo vse meje.

⁷Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

⁸Rogajo se in hudobno govoré o zatiranju, govoré kot vzvišeni nad vse.

⁸They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

⁹Proti nebu dvigajo usta in kar izreče njih jezik, mora veljati na zemlji.

⁹They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

¹⁰Zato hiti za njimi njih ljudstvo, in njih nauke srkajo kot vodo obilo.

¹⁰Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.

²⁶Najsi peša meso moje in srce moje – skala srca mojega in delež moj je Bog vekomaj.

²⁷Ker glej, kateri so daleč od tebe, poginejo; pokončaš ga, kdorkoli se s prešeštvovanjem izneveri tebi.Jaz pa – dobro mi je, da sem blizu Boga; v Gospoda Jehovo stavim pribežališče svoje, da oznanjam vsa dela tvoja.
