²Ob dnevi stiske svoje sem iskal Gospoda, roka moja je bila po noči proti nebu iztegnjena neprenehoma, duša moja se je branila pripustiti tolažbo.

²In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

³Spominjam se Boga in stokam, premišljam, in duh moj omaguje. (Sela.)

³I remember God, and I groan. I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah.

⁴Ne daš mi zatisniti oči, izbegan sem tako, da govoriti ne morem.

⁴You hold my eyelids open. I am so troubled that I can’t speak.

⁵Čase premišljujem starodavne, prejšnjih vekov leta.

⁵I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

⁶Spominjam se ponočne godbe svoje na strune, v srcu svojem premišljam in duh moj preiskuje, govoreč:

⁶I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

⁷Ali bi na večne čase zametal Gospod, ali ne bode nikdar več milostiv?

⁷“Will the Lord reject us forever? Will he be favorable no more?

⁸Je li pri kralju milost njegova za vselej? Je li konec obljubi njegovi od roda do roda?

⁸Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations?

⁹Ali je pozabil Bog mogočni deliti milost, ali je pa v jezi zaprl usmiljenje svoje? (Sela.)

⁹Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?” Selah.

¹⁰Nato si rečem: To je moja bolezen, leta trpljenja, namenjena mi od desnice Najvišjega.

¹⁰Then I thought, “I will appeal to this: the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

¹¹S hvalo bom spominjal dejanj GOSPODOVIH, da, spominjal se bom vseh čudes tvojih od starodavnosti.

¹¹I will remember Yah’s deeds; for I will remember your wonders of old.

¹²In premišljal bom vsaktero delo tvoje in o dejanjih tvojih bom razmišljal.

¹²I will also meditate on all your work, and consider your doings.

¹³O Bog, v svetosti je steza tvoja; kdo je velik Bog mogočni kakor Bog naš?

¹³Your way, God, is in the sanctuary. What god is great like God?

¹⁴Ti si sam Bog mogočni, čudodelni, pokazal si moč svojo med narodi.

¹⁴You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples.

¹⁵Odrešil si s povzdignjeno roko ljudstvo svoje, sinove Jakobove in Jožefove. (Sela.)

¹⁵You have redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

¹⁶Videle so te vode, o Bog, videle so te vode in se tresle, da, potresla so se brezna.

¹⁶The waters saw you, God. The waters saw you, and they writhed. The depths also convulsed.

¹⁷Izlili so oblaki vode, glas so zagnali gornji oblaki, tudi pšice tvoje so švigale semtertja.

¹⁸Bobnel je grom tvoj v viharju, bliski so razsvetljevali vesoljni svet, potresla se je zemlja in trepetala.

¹⁸The voice of your thunder was in the whirlwind. The lightnings lit up the world. The earth trembled and shook.

¹⁹Skozi morje je šla pot tvoja in steza tvoja skozi široke vode, kjer sledovi tvoji niso znani.Vodil si kakor čredo ljudstvo svoje po Mojzesu in Aronu.
