1 Timothy

5

1Usajinyura mukuru, asi umugamuchire sababa, vaduku sevanin'ina,
1Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
2vakadzi vakuru sanamai, vaduku sehanzvadzi neutsvene hwose.
2the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
3Kudza chirikadzi dziri chirikadzi zvirokwazvo.
3Honor widows who are widows indeed.
4Asi kana chero chirikadzi ipi ine vana kana vazukuru, ngavatange ivo kudzidza rukudzo kumba, vadzosere zvakafanira kuvabereki vavo nekuti ndizvo zvakanaka zvinogamuchirwa pamberi paMwari.
4But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5Zvino uyo uri chirikadzi zvirokwazvo yakasiiwa yoga, inovimba naMwari, inogara pamikumbiro neminyengetero siku nesikati.
5Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
6Asi iyo inoraramira kuzvifadza yakafa ichiri mhenyu.
6But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
7Uye raira zvinhu izvi, kuti varege kuva nechavangapomerwa.
7Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.
8Asi kana munhu asingachengeti vekwake, zvikuru veimba yake, waramba kutenda, wakaipa kukunda usingatendi.
8But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
9Chirikadzi ngairege kuverengwa iri pasi pemakore makumi matanhatu, yaiva mukadzi wemurume umwe,
9Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
10inopupurirwa mabasa akanaka, kana yakarera vana, kana yaigamuchira vaeni, kana yaishambidza tsoka dzevatsvene, kana yaibatsira vari mumatambudziko, kana yaichenjerera mabasa ose akanaka.
10being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
11Asi chirikadzi duku urambe, nekuti kana dzochiva zvinopesana naKristu, dzinoda kuwanikwa;
11But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against Christ, they desire to marry;
12dzava nemhosva, nekuti dzarasa rutendo rwadzo rwekutanga;
12having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
13uye ipapo dzinodzidza usimbe dzichipotedza dzimba; uye hadzizi simbe chete, asi vaitiwo vemakuhwa, vashereketi, vachitaura zvavasingafaniri.
13Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
14Naizvozvo ndinoda kuti chirikadzi duku dziwanikwe, dzibereke vana, dzichengete dzimba dzadzo, dzirege kutongopa muvengi mukana wekupomera nawo.
14I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.
15Nekuti vamwe vatotsauka vachitevera Satani.
15For already some have turned aside after Satan.
16Kana murume upi neupi kana mukadzi unotenda ane chirikadzi, ngaadzibatsire, kereke irege kuremedzwa, kuti igobatsira chirikadzi chaidzo.
16If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened; that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.
17Vakuru vanobata zvakanaka ngavaverengerwe sevanofanirwa nekukudzwa kwakapetwa kaviri, zvikuru avo vanobata pashoko nepadzidziso.
17Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
18Nekuti rugwaro rwunoti: Usasunga muromo wenzombe inopura; uye: Mushandi wakafanirwa nemubairo wake.
18For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.” And, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
19Usangogamuchira mhaka inopomerwa mukuru, kunze kwemberi kwezvapupu zviviri kana zvitatu.
19Don’t receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
20Vanotadza uvatsiure pamberi pevose, kuti vamwewo vave nekutya.
20Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
21Ndinokurairisa kwazvo pamberi paMwari naIshe Jesu Kristu, nevatumwa vakasanangurwa, kuti uchengete zvinhu izvi usingagari watotonga, kana kuita chinhu uchitsaura vanhu.
21I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
22Usakurumidza kuisa maoko pamusoro pemunhu, kana kugovana pazvivi zvevamwe; uzvichengete uri mutsvene.
22Lay hands hastily on no one, neither be a participant in other men’s sins. Keep yourself pure.
23Usachiramba uchingomwa mvura, asi ushandise waini shoma nekuda kwemudumbu mako neundonda hwako hwekazhinji.
23Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.
24Zvivi zvevamwe vanhu zvinogara zvaonekwa pachena, zvinotungamirira kukutongwa; zvavamwe zvichitevera,
24Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.
25Saizvozvowo mabasa akanaka anogara aonekwa pachena, neasina kudaro haangavanzwi.
25In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.
