1 John

3

1 Wa guna baakasinay kaŋ dumi Baaba ga ba iri nd'a, hal Irikoy ma ne iri se nga izeyaŋ. Yaadin mo no iri go.
1Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
2 Ay baakoy, sohõ iri wo Irikoy izeyaŋ no. Mate kaŋ iri ga ciya d'a mana bangay jina, amma iri ga bay kaŋ waati kaŋ Almasihu ga bangay, iri ga bara danga a cine, zama iri ga di a mate kaŋ a go d'a.
2Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
3 Boro kulu mo kaŋ gonda beejo wo nga ra ga nga boŋ hanandi, danga mate kaŋ cine Almasihu ga hanan.
3Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4 Boro kulu mo kaŋ goono ga zunubi te, a goono ga asariya* taamu, zama zunubi ga ti asariya taamuyaŋ.
4Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
5 Araŋ ga bay mo kaŋ Almasihu bangay zama nga ma zunubey sambu sabbay se, nga din kaŋ ra mo zunubi si.
5You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.
Boro kulu kaŋ ga soobay ka zunubi te mana di Almasihu, a s'a bay mo.
6Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him, neither knows him.
7 Ize kayney, wa si naŋ boro kulu m'araŋ darandi. Boro kaŋ goono ga adilitaray goy te, bora din ya adilante* no, danga mate kaŋ cine Almasihu ya adilitaraykoy no.
7Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Boro kulu kaŋ i hay Irikoy do si soobay ka zunubi te, zama Irikoy dumar'izo goono ga goro a ra. A si hin ka soobay ka zunubi te mo zama i n'a hay Irikoy do.
9Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.
10 Woone gaa no Irikoy izey da Iblisi izey fay: boro kulu kaŋ siino ga adilitaray goy te manti Irikoy wane no, wala mo boro kaŋ si ba nga nya-izo.
10In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.
11For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
12 Manti danga Kaynu cine, kaŋ ciya Ilaala* wane, kaŋ na nga nya izo wi mo. Ifo se no a n'a wi, binde? To, zama a goyey ga laala no, a nya izo goyey mo adilitaray wane yaŋ no.
12unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 Nya-izey, wa si dambara da ndunnya go ga konna araŋ.
13Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
14 Iri ga bay kaŋ iri na buuyaŋ daŋandi ka kaa fundi do zama iri ga ba iri nya-izey. Boro kaŋ sinda baakasinay, buuyaŋ ra no a goono ga goro.
14We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
15 Boro kulu mo kaŋ ga konna nga nya-izo ya boro-wi no. Araŋ ga bay mo kaŋ boro-wi kulu sinda fundi hal abada kaŋ go ga goro a ra.
15Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
16 Mate kaŋ gaa iri ga baakasinay bay neeya: zama Almasihu na nga fundo no iri se. A ga hima iri mo, iri ma iri fundey no nya-izey se.
16By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 Amma boro kaŋ gonda ndunnya wo arzaka, a goono ga di nga nya-izo kaŋ gonda laami, a si bakar a se mo, mate cine no Irikoy baakasina ga te ka goro a ra?
17But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
18My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19 Woone gaa no iri ga bay kaŋ iri go cimo do haray, iri g'iri biney daahirandi nd'a mo Irikoy jine,
19And by this we know that we are of the truth, and persuade our hearts before him,
20 d'iri biney g'iri foy: Irikoy beeri nd'iri biney, a ga hay kulu bay mo.
20because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;
22 Hay kulu mo kaŋ iri goono ga ŋwaaray a gaa, iri goono ga du a, zama iri goono g'a lordey gana, iri goono ga te hay kulu kaŋ ga kaan a se mo.
22and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 Woone mo ga ti a lordo: iri ma cimandi a Izo Yesu Almasihu maa gaa, iri ma ba care mo, danga mate kaŋ a n'iri lordi nd'a.
23This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
24 Boro kaŋ goono ga Irikoy lordey gana mo goono ga goro Irikoy ra, Irikoy mo goono ga goro a ra. Naŋ kaŋ iri ga bay a goono ga goro iri ra neeya: Biya _Hanno|_ kaŋ a n'iri no do.
24He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
