¹Nanyi wakuu, watendeeni watumwa wenu kwa uadilifu na haki, mkikumbuka kwamba nanyi pia mnaye Bwana mbinguni.

¹The masters! that which is righteous and equal to the servants give ye, having known that ye also have a Master in the heavens.

²Dumuni katika sala, na mnaposali muwe waangalifu, mkimshukuru Mungu.

²In the prayer continue ye, watching in it in thanksgiving;

³Vilevile, mtuombee sisi pia ili Mungu atupe fursa ya kuuhubiri ujumbe wake kuhusu siri ya Kristo. Kwa ajili hiyo mimi niko sasa kifungoni.

³praying at the same time also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of the Christ, because of which also I have been bound,

⁴Basi, ombeni ili niweze kusema kama inavyonipasa na kwa namna itakayodhihirisha siri hiyo.

⁴that I may manifest it, as it behoveth me to speak;

⁵Muwe na hekima katika uhusiano wenu na watu wasioamini, mkitumia vizuri kila nafasi mliyo nayo.

⁵in wisdom walk ye toward those without, the time forestalling;

⁶Mazungumzo yenu yanapaswa kuwa daima mema na ya kuvutia, na mnapaswa kujua jinsi ya kumjibu vizuri kila mmoja.

⁶your word always in grace — with salt being seasoned — to know how it behoveth you to answer each one.

⁷Ndugu yetu mpenzi Tukiko, mfanyakazi mwaminifu na mtumishi mwenzetu katika kazi ya Bwana, atawapeni habari zangu zote.

⁷All the things concerning me make known to you shall Tychicus — the beloved brother, and faithful ministrant, and fellow-servant in the Lord —

⁸Ndiyo maana namtuma, ili aichangamshe mioyo yenu kwa kuwaambieni habari zetu.

⁸whom I did send unto you for this very thing, that he might know the things concerning you, and might comfort your hearts,

⁹Anakuja pamoja na Onesimo, ndugu yetu mpenzi na mwaminifu, ambaye ni mwananchi mwenzenu. Watawapeni habari za mambo yote yanayofanyika hapa.

⁹with Onesimus the faithful and beloved brother, who is of you; all things to you shall they make known that [are] here.

¹⁰Aristarko, ambaye yuko kifungoni pamoja nami, anawasalimuni; hali kadhalika Marko, binamu yake Barnaba, (mmekwisha pata maagizo juu yake; akifika kwenu mkaribisheni).

¹⁰Salute you doth Aristarchus, my fellow-captive, and Marcus, the nephew of Barnabas, (concerning whom ye did receive commands — if he may come unto you receive him,)

¹¹Naye Yoshua aitwaye Yusto, anawasalimuni. Miongoni mwa Wayahudi waliokwisha pokea imani, hawa tu peke yao, ndio wanaofanya kazi pamoja nami kwa ajili ya Utawala wa Mungu; nao wamekuwa msaada mkubwa kwangu.

¹¹and Jesus who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision: these only [are] fellow-workers for the reign of God who did become a comfort to me.

¹²Epafra, mwananchi mwenzenu na mtumishi wa Kristo Yesu anawasalimuni. Daima anawaombeeni ninyi kwa bidii ili mpate kusimama imara, mkomae na kuwa thabiti kabisa katika mambo yote anayotaka Mungu.

¹²Salute you doth Epaphras, who [is] of you, a servant of Christ, always striving for you in the prayers, that ye may stand perfect and made full in all the will of God,

¹³Naweza kushuhudia kwamba anafanya kazi kwa bidii kwa ajili yenu na kwa ajili ya watu wa Laodikea na Hierapoli.

¹³for I do testify to him, that he hath much zeal for you, and those in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis.

¹⁴Luka, daktari wetu mpenzi, na Dema, wanawasalimuni.

¹⁴Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas;

¹⁵Salamu zetu kwa ndugu zetu wa Laodikea; msalimuni dada Nimfa pamoja na jumuiya yote ya waumini inayokutana nyumbani kwake.

¹⁵salute ye those in Laodicea — brethren, and Nymphas, and the assembly in his house;

¹⁶Mkisha soma barua hii, hakikisheni kwamba inasomwa na Wakristo wa Laodikea; na ninyi fanyeni mpango mpate kuisoma barua waliyoipata kwao.

¹⁶and when the epistle may be read with you, cause that also in the assembly of the Laodiceans it may be read, and the [epistle] from Laodicea that ye also may read;

¹⁷Mwambieni Arkipo aitekeleze vizuri ile huduma aliyokabidhiwa na Bwana.

¹⁷and say to Archippus, `See to the ministration that thou didst receive in the Lord, that thou mayest fulfil it.`

¹⁸Naandika haya kwa mkono wangu mwenyewe: Salamu kutoka kwangu, mimi Paulo. Kumbukeni kwamba niko kifungoni. Neema ya Mungu iwe nanyi.

¹⁸The salutation by the hand of me, Paul; remember my bonds; the grace [is] with you. Amen.
