1แล้วดาวิดตรัสว่า "นี่แหละพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า นี่แหละแท่นเครื่องเผาบูชาสำหรับอิสราเอล"
1Then David said, “This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
2ดาวิดทรงบัญชาให้รวบรวมคนต่างด้าวที่อยู่ในแผ่นดินอิสราเอล และพระองค์ทรงจัดคนสกัดหินให้เตรียมหินสกัดเพื่อสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเจ้า
2David gave orders to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to cut worked stones to build God’s house.
3ดาวิดยังทรงจัดสะสมเหล็กเป็นจำนวนมาก เพื่อเป็นตาปูของบานประตูรั้วและเป็นเหล็กหนีบ ทั้งทองสัมฤทธิ์เป็นจำนวนมากเหลือที่จะชั่งได้
3David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the couplings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4และไม้สนสีดาร์นับไม่ถ้วน เพราะว่าชาวไซดอน และชาวไทระ ได้นำไม้สนสีดาร์จำนวนมากมายมาถวายดาวิด
4and cedar trees without number: for the Sidonians and they of Tyre brought cedar trees in abundance to David.
5เพราะดาวิดตรัสว่า "ซาโลมอนบุตรชายของเรายังเด็กอยู่และไม่เคยงาน และพระนิเวศซึ่งจะสร้างถวายพระเยโฮวาห์นั้นต้องหรูหราอย่างยิ่ง มีชื่อเสียงและสง่าราศีในบรรดาประเทศทั้งหลาย เพราะฉะนั้นเราจึงจะจัดเตรียมไว้" ดาวิดจึงทรงจัดวัตถุเป็นจำนวนมากก่อนพระองค์สิ้นพระชนม์
5David said, “Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6แล้วพระองค์ทรงเรียกซาโลมอนราชโอรสของพระองค์ และกำชับท่านให้สร้างพระนิเวศถวายพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล
6Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.
7ดาวิดรับสั่งซาโลมอนว่า "ลูกเอ๋ย เรามีใจประสงค์ที่จะสร้างพระนิเวศถวายพระนามแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเรา
7David said to Solomon his son, “As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my God.
8แต่พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังเราว่า `เจ้าได้ทำให้โลหิตตกมาก และได้ทำสงครามใหญ่โต เจ้าอย่าสร้างพระนิเวศเพื่อนามของเราเลย เพราะเจ้าได้ทำให้โลหิตตกเป็นอันมากต่อสายตาของเราบนแผ่นดินโลก
8But the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ‘You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.
9ดูเถิด บุตรชายคนหนึ่งจะบังเกิดมาแก่เจ้า เขาจะเป็นคนแห่งความสงบ เราจะให้ความสงบแก่เขาให้พ้นจากศัตรูทั้งสิ้นของเขารอบข้าง เพราะเขาจะมีชื่อว่าซาโลมอน และเราจะให้สันติภาพและความสงบแก่อิสราเอลในสมัยของเขา
9Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.
10เขาจะสร้างพระนิเวศเพื่อนามของเรา เขาจะเป็นบุตรของเรา และเราจะเป็นบิดาของเขา และเราจะสถาปนาราชบัลลังก์ของเขาเหนืออิสราเอลเป็นนิตย์'
10He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.’
11นี่แหละ ลูกของข้าเอ๋ย ขอพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับเจ้า และขอให้เจ้ามีความสำเร็จ และสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าสำเร็จดังที่พระองค์ตรัสถึงเรื่องเจ้า
11Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and prosper you, and build the house of Yahweh your God, as he has spoken concerning you.
12ขอเพียงพระเยโฮวาห์ประสาทให้เจ้ามีความเฉลียวฉลาดและความเข้าใจ และทรงตั้งเจ้าให้ปกครองอิสราเอลและทรงโปรดให้เจ้ารักษาพระราชบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า
12May Yahweh give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel; that so you may keep the law of Yahweh your God.
13แล้วเจ้าจะทำสำเร็จ ถ้าเจ้าจะระมัดระวังที่จะปฏิบัติตามกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชากับโมเสสเกี่ยวกับอิสราเอล จงเข้มแข็งและกล้าหาญเถิด อย่ากลัวและอย่าท้อถอยเลย
13Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Yahweh gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong, and courageous. Don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.
14และดูเถิด เราได้จัดเตรียมไว้เพื่อพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ด้วยความยากเหนื่อยอย่างยิ่ง เป็นทองคำหนักหนึ่งแสนตะลันต์ เงินหนักหนึ่งล้านตะลันต์ ทองสัมฤทธิ์และเหล็กเหลือที่จะชั่ง เพราะมีมากมายเหลือเกิน เราได้จัดเตรียมตัวไม้และหินด้วย เจ้าจะเพิ่มเติมเข้าอีกก็ได้
14Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of Yahweh one hundred thousand talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone; and you may add to them.
15ยิ่งกว่านั้นเจ้ามีคนทำงานมากมาย คือช่างสกัดหิน ช่างก่อ ช่างไม้ และช่างฝีมือทุกชนิด
15There are also workmen with you in abundance, cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of men who are skillful in every kind of work:
16ส่วนทองคำ เงิน ทองสัมฤทธิ์ และเหล็กนั้นก็มีมากมายเหลือที่จะนับได้ ลุกขึ้นทำไปเถิด ขอพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับเจ้า"
16of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may Yahweh be with you.”
17ดาวิดทรงบัญชาประมุขทั้งปวงของอิสราเอลให้ช่วยซาโลมอนโอรสของพระองค์ด้วยว่า
17David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
18"พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าทรงสถิตอยู่กับเจ้ามิใช่หรือ และพระองค์มิได้ประทานการหยุดพักสงบแก่เจ้าทุกด้านหรือ เพราะพระองค์ทรงมอบชาวแผ่นดินนี้ไว้ในมือของเรา และแผ่นดินนั้นก็ราบคาบต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์และต่อหน้าประชาชนของพระองค์
18“Isn’t Yahweh your God with you? Hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh, and before his people.
19บัดนี้จงตั้งจิตตั้งใจของเจ้าที่จะแสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า จงลุกขึ้นสร้างสถานบริสุทธิ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า เพื่อว่าหีบพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็ดี และเครื่องใช้อันบริสุทธิ์ของพระเจ้าก็ดี จะได้นำเอามาไว้ในพระนิเวศที่จะสร้างขึ้นเพื่อพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์"
19Now set your heart and your soul to seek after Yahweh your God. Arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of Yahweh God, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of Yahweh.”
