¹แม้ข้าพเจ้าพูดภาษาของมนุษย์ก็ดี และภาษาของทูตสวรรค์ก็ดี แต่ไม่มีความรัก ข้าพเจ้าเป็นเหมือนฆ้องหรือฉาบที่กำลังส่งเสียง

¹If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.

²แม้ข้าพเจ้ามีของประทานแห่งการพยากรณ์ และเข้าใจในความลึกลับทั้งปวงและมีความรู้ทั้งสิ้น และแม้ข้าพเจ้ามีความเชื่อทั้งหมดพอจะยกภูเขาไปได้ แต่ไม่มีความรัก ข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่มีค่าอะไรเลย

²If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing.

³แม้ข้าพเจ้ามอบของสารพัดเพื่อเลี้ยงคนยากจน และแม้ข้าพเจ้ายอมให้เอาตัวข้าพเจ้าไปเผาไฟเสีย แต่ไม่มีความรัก จะหาเป็นประโยชน์แก่ข้าพเจ้าไม่

³If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.

⁴ความรักนั้นก็อดทนนานและกระทำคุณให้ ความรักไม่อิจฉา ความรักไม่อวดตัว ไม่หยิ่งผยอง

⁴Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,

⁵ไม่ทำสิ่งที่ไม่บังควร ไม่คิดเห็นแก่ตนเองฝ่ายเดียว ไม่ฉุนเฉียว ไม่ช่างจดจำความผิด

⁵doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

⁶ไม่ชื่นชมยินดีในความชั่วช้า แต่ชื่นชมยินดีในความจริง

⁶doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

⁷ไม่แคะไค้คุ้ยเขี่ยความผิดของเขา และเชื่อในส่วนดีของเขาอยู่เสมอ และมีความหวังอยู่เสมอ และเพียรทนเอาทุกอย่าง

⁷bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

⁸ความรักไม่มีวันสูญสิ้น แม้คำพยากรณ์ก็จะเสื่อมสูญไป แม้การพูดภาษาแปลกๆนั้นก็จะมีเวลาเลิกไป แม้ความรู้ก็จะเสื่อมสูญไป

⁸Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

⁹เพราะที่เรารู้นั้นก็รู้แต่ส่วนหนึ่ง และที่เราพยากรณ์นั้นก็พยากรณ์แต่ส่วนหนึ่ง

⁹For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

¹⁰แต่เมื่อความสมบูรณ์มาถึงแล้ว ความบกพร่องนั้นก็จะสูญไป

¹⁰but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.

¹¹เมื่อข้าพเจ้ายังเป็นเด็ก ข้าพเจ้าพูดอย่างเด็ก คิดอย่างเด็ก ใคร่ครวญหาเหตุผลอย่างเด็ก แต่เมื่อข้าพเจ้าเป็นผู้ใหญ่ ข้าพเจ้าก็เลิกอาการเด็กเสีย

¹¹When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.

¹²เพราะว่าบัดนี้เราเห็นสลัวๆเหมือนดูในกระจก แต่เวลานั้นจะได้เห็นหน้ากันชัดเจน เดี๋ยวนี้ข้าพเจ้ารู้แต่ส่วนหนึ่ง แต่เวลานั้นข้าพเจ้าจะรู้แจ้งเหมือนได้รู้จักข้าพเจ้าแล้วด้วย

¹²For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.

¹³ดังนั้นยังตั้งอยู่สามสิ่ง คือความเชื่อ ความหวังใจ ความรัก แต่ความรักใหญ่ที่สุด

¹³But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
