¹ให้ทุกคนถือว่าเราเป็นผู้รับใช้ของพระคริสต์ และเป็นผู้อารักขาสิ่งลึกลับของพระเจ้า

¹So let a man think of us as Christ’s servants, and stewards of God’s mysteries.

²ยิ่งกว่านี้ฝ่ายผู้อารักขาเหล่านั้นต้องเป็นคนที่สัตย์ซื่อทุกคน

²Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful.

³สำหรับข้าพเจ้าการที่ท่านทั้งหลายหรือมนุษย์ผู้ใดจะตัดสินตัวข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าถือว่าเป็นเรื่องเล็กน้อย ถึงแม้ข้าพเจ้าเองก็มิได้ตัดสินตัวข้าพเจ้า

³But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man’s judgment. Yes, I don’t judge my own self.

⁴เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้ว่าข้าพเจ้ามีความผิดสถานใด ถึงกระนั้นข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่พ้นการพิพากษา ท่านผู้ทรงพิพากษาตัวข้าพเจ้าคือองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า

⁴For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.

⁵เหตุฉะนั้นท่านอย่าตัดสินสิ่งใดก่อนที่จะถึงเวลาจนกว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะเสด็จมา พระองค์จะทรงเปิดเผยความลับที่ซ่อนอยู่ในความมืดให้แจ่มกระจ่าง และจะทรงเผยความในใจของคนทั้งปวงด้วย เมื่อนั้นทุกคนจะได้รับคำชมเชยจากพระเจ้า

⁵Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

⁶พี่น้องทั้งหลาย สิ่งเหล่านั้นที่ข้าพเจ้าได้นำมากล่าวเปรียบเทียบถึงตัวข้าพเจ้าและอปอลโล ก็เพื่อประโยชน์ของท่านทั้งหลาย เพื่อให้ท่านทั้งหลายเรียนแบบของเรา มิให้ยกย่องคนหนึ่งคนใดเกินกว่าที่เขียนบอกไว้แล้ว มิให้ยกคนหนึ่งคนใดข่มผู้อื่น

⁶Now these things, brothers, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to think beyond the things which are written, that none of you be puffed up against one another.

⁷ผู้ใดเล่ากระทำให้ท่านวิเศษกว่าคนอื่น ท่านมีอะไรที่ท่านมิได้รับมา ก็เมื่อท่านได้รับมา เหตุไฉนท่านจึงโอ้อวดเหมือนกับว่าท่านมิได้รับเลย

⁷For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn’t receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

⁸ท่านทั้งหลายอิ่มหนำแล้วหนอ ท่านมั่งมีแล้วหนอ ท่านได้ครองเหมือนกษัตริย์โดยไม่มีเราร่วมด้วยแล้วหนอ ข้าพเจ้ามีความปรารถนาให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้ขึ้นครองจริงๆเพื่อเราจะได้ขึ้นครองกับท่าน

⁸You are already filled. You have already become rich. You have come to reign without us. Yes, and I wish that you did reign, that we also might reign with you.

⁹เพราะข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงตั้งเราผู้เป็นอัครสาวกไว้ในที่สุดปลาย เหมือนผู้ที่ได้ถูกปรับโทษให้ถึงตาย เพราะว่าโลกคือทั้งทูตสวรรค์และมนุษย์มองดูเราด้วยความพิศวง

⁹For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. For we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men.

¹⁰เราทั้งหลายเป็นคนเขลาเพราะเห็นแก่พระคริสต์ และท่านทั้งหลายเป็นคนมีปัญญาในพระคริสต์ เราทั้งหลายมีกำลังน้อยแต่ท่านทั้งหลายมีกำลังมาก ท่านทั้งหลายมีเกียรติยศแต่เราทั้งหลายเป็นคนอัปยศ

¹⁰We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.

¹¹จนถึงเวลานี้เราก็ทั้งหิวและกระหาย เปลือยเปล่าและถูกโบยตี และไม่มีที่อาศัยเป็นหลักแหล่ง

¹¹Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place.

¹²เราทำการหนักด้วยมือของเราเอง เมื่อถูกด่าเราก็อวยพร เมื่อถูกข่มเหงเราก็ทนเอา

¹²We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.

¹³เมื่อถูกใส่ร้ายเราก็อ้อนวอน เรากลายเป็นเหมือนกากเดนของโลกและเหมือนราคีของสิ่งสารพัดจนถึงบัดนี้

¹³Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

¹⁴ข้าพเจ้ามิได้เขียนข้อความเหล่านี้เพื่อจะให้ท่านได้อาย แต่เขียนเพื่อเตือนสติในฐานะที่ท่านเป็นลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า

¹⁴I don’t write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

¹⁵เพราะในพระคริสต์ถึงแม้ท่านมีครูสักหมื่นคนแต่ท่านจะมีบิดาหลายคนก็หามิได้ เพราะว่าในพระเยซูคริสต์ข้าพเจ้าได้ให้กำเนิดแก่ท่านโดยข่าวประเสริฐ

¹⁵For though you have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, I became your father through the Good News.

¹⁶เหตุฉะนั้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงขอให้ท่านทำตามอย่างข้าพเจ้า

¹⁶I beg you therefore, be imitators of me.

¹⁷เพราะเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าจึงได้ใช้ทิโมธีลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นคนสัตย์ซื่อในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าให้มาหาท่าน เพื่อนำท่านให้ระลึกถึงแบบการประพฤติของข้าพเจ้าในพระคริสต์ ตามที่ข้าพเจ้าสอนอยู่ในทุกคริสตจักร

¹⁷Because of this I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every assembly.

¹⁸แต่บางคนทำผยองราวกับข้าพเจ้าจะไม่มาหาท่าน

¹⁸Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.

¹⁹แต่ถ้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงโปรด ข้าพเจ้าจะมาหาท่านในไม่ช้านี้ และข้าพเจ้าจะหยั่งดู มิใช่ถ้อยคำของคนที่ผยองเหล่านั้นแต่จะหยั่งดูฤทธิ์อำนาจของเขา

¹⁹But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing. And I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.

²⁰เพราะว่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้ามิใช่เรื่องของคำพูดแต่เป็นเรื่องฤทธิ์เดช

²⁰For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

²¹ท่านจะเอาอย่างไร จะให้ข้าพเจ้าถือไม้เรียวมาหาท่าน หรือจะให้ข้าพเจ้ามาด้วยความรักและด้วยใจอ่อนสุภาพ

²¹What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
