¹แล้วซาโลมอนทรงประชุมพวกผู้ใหญ่ของอิสราเอล และบรรดาหัวหน้าของตระกูล คือประมุขของบรรพบุรุษคนอิสราเอล ต่อพระพักตร์กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เพื่อจะนำหีบพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์ขึ้นมาจากนครดาวิด คือเมืองศิโยน

¹Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.

²และผู้ชายทั้งสิ้นของอิสราเอลก็ประชุมต่อพระพักตร์กษัตริย์ซาโลมอน ณ การเลี้ยงในเดือนเอธานิม ซึ่งเป็นเดือนที่เจ็ด

²All the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

³พวกผู้ใหญ่ทั้งสิ้นของอิสราเอลมา และพวกปุโรหิตก็ยกหีบ

³All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

⁴และเขาทั้งหลายนำหีบของพระเยโฮวาห์ และพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม และเครื่องใช้บริสุทธิ์ทั้งสิ้นซึ่งอยู่ในพลับพลาขึ้นมา ของเหล่านี้บรรดาปุโรหิตและคนเลวีหามขึ้นมา

⁴They brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these the priests and the Levites brought up.

⁵และกษัตริย์ซาโลมอน และชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นที่ได้ประชุมกันต่อพระองค์ อยู่กับพระองค์ต่อหน้าหีบ ได้ถวายแกะและวัวมากมาย ซึ่งเขาจะนับหรือเอาจำนวนก็ไม่ได้

⁵King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

⁶แล้วปุโรหิตก็นำหีบพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังที่ของหีบ ที่อยู่ในห้องหลังของพระนิเวศ คือในที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุด ภายใต้ปีกเครูบ

⁶The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

⁷เพราะว่าเครูบนั้นกางปีกออกเหนือที่ของหีบ เครูบจึงเป็นเครื่องคลุมเหนือหีบ และไม้คานของหีบ

⁷For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

⁸พวกเขาดึงคานหามของหีบนั้นออกบ้าง จึงเห็นปลายคานหามได้จากที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุด ซึ่งอยู่ข้างหน้าห้องหลัง แต่เขาจะเห็นจากข้างนอกไม่ได้ และคานหามก็ยังอยู่ที่นั่นจนทุกวันนี้

⁸The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there they are to this day.

⁹ไม่มีสิ่งใดในหีบนอกจากศิลาสองแผ่น ซึ่งโมเสสเก็บไว้ ณ โฮเรบ เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำพันธสัญญากับชนอิสราเอล เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์

⁹There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁰และอยู่มาเมื่อปุโรหิตออกมาจากที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุด เมฆมาเต็มพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์

¹⁰It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Yahweh,

¹¹ปุโรหิตจึงยืนปรนนิบัติอยู่ไม่ได้เพราะเมฆนั้น เพราะสง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์เต็มพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์

¹¹so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh.

¹²แล้วซาโลมอนตรัสว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสว่า พระองค์จะประทับในความมืดทึบ

¹²Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

¹³ข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างพระนิเวศอันเป็นที่ประทับสำหรับพระองค์ เป็นสถานที่ถาวรเพื่อพระองค์จะทรงสถิตอยู่เป็นนิตย์"

¹³I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”

¹⁴แล้วกษัตริย์ก็หันมาและทรงให้พรแก่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง (ขณะที่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงยืนอยู่)

¹⁴The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

¹⁵พระองค์ตรัสว่า "สาธุการแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ผู้ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จด้วยพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ ตามที่พระองค์ตรัสไว้ด้วยพระโอษฐ์ต่อดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าว่า

¹⁵He said, “Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

¹⁶`ตั้งแต่วันที่เราได้นำอิสราเอลชนชาติของเราออกจากอียิปต์ เรามิได้เลือกเมืองหนึ่งเมืองใดในตระกูลอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นเพื่อจะสร้างพระนิเวศ เพื่อนามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่น แต่เราได้เลือกดาวิดให้อยู่เหนืออิสราเอลชนชาติของเรา'

¹⁶‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

¹⁷ดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าทรงตั้งพระทัยแล้วที่จะสร้างพระนิเวศสำหรับพระนามแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล

¹⁷“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹⁸แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าว่า `ที่เจ้าตั้งใจสร้างพระนิเวศสำหรับนามของเรานั้น เจ้าก็ทำดีอยู่แล้ว ในเรื่องความตั้งใจของเจ้า

¹⁸But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

¹⁹อย่างไรก็ตาม เจ้าจะไม่สร้างพระนิเวศ แต่บุตรชายของเจ้าผู้ซึ่งจะออกมาจากบั้นเอวของเจ้าจะสร้างพระนิเวศเพื่อนามของเรา'

¹⁹Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

²⁰Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

²¹ข้าพเจ้าได้กำหนดที่ไว้สำหรับหีบที่นั่นแล้ว ซึ่งพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่ในนั้น ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของเรา เมื่อพระองค์ทรงนำเขาทั้งหลายออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์"

²¹There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

²²แล้วซาโลมอนประทับยืนหน้าแท่นบูชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ต่อหน้าชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง และกางพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ออกสู่ฟ้าสวรรค์

²²Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

²³และทูลว่า "ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ไม่มีพระเจ้าองค์ใดเหมือนพระองค์ ในฟ้าสวรรค์เบื้องบน หรือที่แผ่นดินเบื้องล่าง ผู้ทรงรักษาพันธสัญญา และทรงสำแดงความเมตตาแก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ซึ่งดำเนินอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ด้วยสิ้นสุดใจของเขา

²³and he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;

²⁴พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำกับดาวิดบิดาของข้าพระองค์ ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ตามบรรดาสิ่งซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้แก่ท่าน พระองค์ตรัสด้วยพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์ และพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จในวันนี้ด้วยพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์

²⁴who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

²⁵ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอทรงรักษาสิ่งที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้กับดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ราชบิดาของข้าพระองค์ว่า `เจ้าจะไม่ขาดชายผู้หนึ่งในสายตาของเราที่จะนั่งบนบัลลังก์แห่งอิสราเอล เพื่อว่าลูกหลานทั้งหลายของเจ้าจะระมัดระวังในวิถีทางของเขา ที่เขาจะดำเนินไปต่อหน้าเราอย่างที่เจ้าได้ดำเนินต่อหน้าเรานั้น'

²⁵Now therefore, may Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’

²⁶เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ ข้าแต่พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ขอพระวจนะของพระองค์จงดำรงอยู่ ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ตรัสกับผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ คือดาวิดบิดาของข้าพระองค์

²⁶“Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

²⁷แต่พระเจ้าจะทรงประทับที่แผ่นดินโลกหรือ ดูเถิด ฟ้าสวรรค์และฟ้าสวรรค์อันสูงที่สุดยังรับพระองค์อยู่ไม่ได้ พระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างขึ้นจะรับพระองค์ไม่ได้ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด

²⁷But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

²⁸แต่ขอพระองค์สนพระทัยในคำอธิษฐานของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และในคำวิงวอนนี้ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ขอทรงสดับเสียงร้องและคำอธิษฐานซึ่งผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์อธิษฐานต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ในวันนี้

²⁸Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you this day;

²⁹เพื่อว่าพระเนตรของพระองค์จะทรงลืมอยู่เหนือพระนิเวศนี้ ทั้งกลางคืนและกลางวัน คือสถานที่ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ตรัสว่า `นามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่น' เพื่อว่าพระองค์จะทรงสดับคำอธิษฐาน ซึ่งผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จะได้อธิษฐานตรงต่อสถานที่นี้

²⁹that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.

³⁰และขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำวิงวอนของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และของอิสราเอลชนชาติของพระองค์ เมื่อเขาอธิษฐานตรงต่อสถานที่นี้ ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับอยู่ในฟ้าสวรรค์ อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และเมื่อพระองค์ทรงสดับแล้ว ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงประท่านอภัย

³⁰Listen to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place. Yes, hear in heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

³¹เมื่อชายคนใดกระทำการละเมิดต่อเพื่อนบ้านของเขา และถูกบังคับให้ทำสัตย์ปฏิญาณ และเขามาให้คำปฏิญาณต่อหน้าแท่นบูชาของพระองค์ในพระนิเวศนี้

³¹“If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swear before your altar in this house;

³²ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ และขอทรงกระทำและทรงพิพากษาผู้รับใช้ทั้งหลายของพระองค์ กล่าวโทษผู้กระทำความผิด และทรงนำความประพฤติของเขาให้กลับตกบนศีรษะของตัวเขาเอง และขอทรงประกาศความบริสุทธิ์ของผู้ชอบธรรมสนองแก่เขาตามความชอบธรรมของเขา

³²then hear in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

³³เมื่ออิสราเอลชนชาติของพระองค์พ่ายแพ้ต่อหน้าศัตรู เพราะเขาได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ ถ้าเขาหันกลับมาหาพระองค์อีก และยอมรับพระนามของพระองค์ และอธิษฐานและกระทำการวิงวอนต่อพระองค์ในพระนิเวศนี้

³³“When your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house:

³⁴ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ และประทานอภัยแก่บาปของอิสราเอลชนชาติของพระองค์ และขอทรงนำเขากลับมายังแผ่นดินซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงพระราชทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของเขาทั้งหลาย

³⁴then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.

³⁵เมื่อฟ้าสวรรค์ปิดอยู่ และไม่มีฝน เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายได้อธิษฐานต่อสถานที่นี้ และยอมรับพระนามของพระองค์ และหันกลับเสียจากบาปของเขาทั้งหลาย เมื่อพระองค์ทรงให้เขาทั้งหลายรับความทุกข์ใจ

³⁵“When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

³⁶ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ และขอทรงประทานอภัยบาปของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสอนทางดีแก่เขา ซึ่งเขาควรจะดำเนิน และขอทรงประทานฝนบนแผ่นดินของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงพระราชทานแก่ชนชาติของพระองค์เป็นมรดกนั้น

³⁶then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

³⁷ถ้ามีการกันดารอาหารในแผ่นดิน ถ้ามีโรคระบาด ข้าวม้าน รากินข้าว หรือตั๊กแตนวัยบิน หรือตั๊กแตนวัยคลาน หรือถ้าศัตรูของเขาทั้งหลายล้อมเมืองของเขาไว้รอบด้าน จะเป็นภัยพิบัติอย่างใด หรือความเจ็บไข้อย่างใด มีขึ้นก็ดี

³⁷“If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;

³⁸ไม่ว่าคำอธิษฐานอย่างใด หรือคำวิงวอนประการใดซึ่งประชาชนคนใด หรืออิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ทั้งสิ้นทูล ต่างก็สำนึกถึงเรื่องภัยพิบัติแห่งจิตใจของเขาเอง และได้กางมือของเขาสู่พระนิเวศนี้

³⁸whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

³⁹ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และพระราชทานอภัยและทรงกระทำ และทรงประทานแก่ทุกคนซึ่งพระองค์ทรงทราบจิตใจตามการประพฤติทั้งสิ้นของเขา (เพราะพระองค์คือพระองค์เท่านั้นที่ทรงทราบจิตใจแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์)

³⁹then hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men;)

⁴⁰เพื่อว่าเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ยำเกรงพระองค์ตลอดวันเวลาที่เขาทั้งหลายอาศัยในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงประทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย

⁴⁰that they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

⁴¹ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกเกี่ยวกับชนต่างด้าว ผู้ซึ่งไม่ใช่อิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ เมื่อเขามาจากประเทศเมืองไกล เพราะเห็นแก่พระนามของพระองค์

⁴¹“Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for your name’s sake

⁴²(เพราะเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ยินถึงพระนามใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์ และถึงพระหัตถ์อันมหิทธิฤทธิ์ของพระองค์ และถึงพระกรที่เหยียดออกของพระองค์) เมื่อเขามาอธิษฐานตรงต่อพระนิเวศนี้

⁴²(for they shall hear of your great name, and of your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;

⁴³ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และขอทรงกระทำตามทุกสิ่งซึ่งชนต่างด้าวได้ทูลขอต่อพระองค์ เพื่อว่าชนชาติทั้งหลายแห่งแผ่นดินโลกจะรู้จักพระนามของพระองค์และเกรงกลัวพระองค์ ดังอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ยำเกรงพระองค์อยู่นั้น และเพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะทราบว่า พระนิเวศนี้ซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างไว้เขาเรียกกันด้วยพระนามของพระองค์

⁴³hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.

⁴⁴ถ้าประชาชนของพระองค์ออกไปทำสงครามต่อสู้ศัตรูของเขาทั้งหลาย จะเป็นโดยทางใดๆที่พระองค์ทรงใช้เขาออกไปก็ตาม และเขาทั้งหลายได้อธิษฐานต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ตรงต่อเมืองซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเลือกสรรไว้ และตรงต่อพระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างสำหรับพระนามของพระองค์

⁴⁴“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to Yahweh toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;

⁴⁵ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำอธิษฐานของเขาและคำวิงวอนของเขาในฟ้าสวรรค์ และขอทรงให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของเขาคงอยู่

⁴⁵then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

⁴⁶ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายกระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ (เพราะไม่มีมนุษย์สักคนหนึ่งซึ่งมิได้กระทำบาป) และพระองค์ทรงกริ้วต่อเขา และทรงมอบเขาไว้กับศัตรู เขาจึงถูกจับไปเป็นเชลยยังแผ่นดินของศัตรูนั้น ไม่ว่าไกลหรือใกล้

⁴⁶If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn’t sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;

⁴⁷แต่ถ้าเขาสำนึกผิดในใจในแผ่นดินซึ่งเขาได้ถูกจับไปเป็นเชลยและได้กลับใจ และได้ทำการวิงวอนต่อพระองค์ในแผ่นดินของผู้จับเขาไปเป็นเชลย ทูลว่า `ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาป และได้ประพฤติชั่วร้ายและได้กระทำความชั่ว'

⁴⁷yet if they shall repent in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned, and have done perversely; we have dealt wickedly;’

⁴⁸ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายกลับมาหาพระองค์ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของเขาในแผ่นดินแห่งศัตรูทั้งหลายของเขา ผู้ซึ่งจับเขาไปเป็นเชลย และอธิษฐานต่อพระองค์ตรงต่อแผ่นดินของเขา ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงประทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของเขาทั้งหลาย คือเมืองซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงเลือกสรรไว้ และพระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างไว้เพื่อพระนามของพระองค์

⁴⁸if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:

⁴⁹ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำอธิษฐานและคำวิงวอนของเขาในฟ้าสวรรค์ อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และขอทรงให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของเขาคงอยู่

⁴⁹then hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, your dwelling place, and maintain their cause;

⁵⁰และขอทรงประทานอภัยแก่ประชาชนของพระองค์ผู้ได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ และทรงประทานอภัยต่อการละเมิดทั้งหลายของเขา ซึ่งเขาได้กระทำต่อพระองค์ และให้เขาเป็นที่เมตตาของคนเหล่านั้นที่จับเขาทั้งหลายไปเป็นเชลย เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้รับความเมตตาจากเขา

⁵⁰and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

⁵¹(for they are your people, and your inheritance, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);

⁵²ขอพระเนตรของพระองค์จงลืมอยู่ต่อคำวิงวอนของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และต่อคำวิงวอนของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ ขอทรงสดับบรรดาเรื่องที่เขาทั้งหลายร้องต่อพระองค์

⁵²that your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.

⁵³เพราะพระองค์ทรงแยกเขาจากท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งหลายของแผ่นดินโลก ให้เป็นมรดกของพระองค์ ตามซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสทางโมเสส ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า ในเมื่อพระองค์ทรงนำบรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายออกจากอียิปต์"

⁵³For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh.”

⁵⁴ครั้นซาโลมอนทรงจบคำอธิษฐาน และคำวิงวอนทั้งสิ้นนี้ต่อพระเยโฮวาห์แล้ว ก็ทรงลุกขึ้นจากหน้าแท่นบูชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ ที่ซึ่งทรงคุกเข่าพร้อมกับกางพระหัตถ์สู่ฟ้าสวรรค์

⁵⁴It was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

⁵⁵และพระองค์ทรงประทับยืน และทรงให้พรแก่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นด้วยเสียงดังว่า

⁵⁵He stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

⁵⁶"สาธุการแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ ผู้ทรงพระราชทานการหยุดพักแก่อิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ ตามซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้ทุกประการ พระสัญญาอันดีทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสัญญาทางโมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์นั้นไม่ล้มเหลวสักคำเดียว

⁵⁶“Blessed be Yahweh, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.

⁵⁷ขอพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราทั้งหลายสถิตกับเราดังที่พระองค์ได้สถิตกับบรรพบุรุษของเรา ขอพระองค์อย่าทรงละเราหรือทอดทิ้งเราเสีย

⁵⁷May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us, nor forsake us;

⁵⁸เพื่อพระองค์ทรงโน้มจิตใจของเราให้มาหาพระองค์ ที่จะดำเนินในทางทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ และรักษาบรรดาพระบัญญัติของพระองค์ กฎเกณฑ์ของพระองค์ และคำตัดสินของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงบัญญัติไว้แก่บรรพบุรุษของเรา

⁵⁸that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.

⁵⁹ขอให้ถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ของข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้วิงวอนขอต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ ให้อยู่ใกล้พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของพวกเราทั้งวันและคืน และขอให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์คงอยู่ และให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์คงอยู่ ตามต้องการแต่ละวัน

⁵⁹Let these my words, with which I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near to Yahweh our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;

⁶⁰เพื่อบรรดาชนชาติทั้งหลายแห่งแผ่นดินโลกจะทราบว่าพระเยโฮวาห์นั้นเป็นพระเจ้า ไม่มีองค์อื่นเลย

⁶⁰that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God. There is none else.

⁶¹เพราะฉะนั้นขอให้จิตใจของท่านทั้งหลายบริสุทธิ์ต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเรา คือที่จะดำเนินอยู่ในกฎเกณฑ์ของพระองค์ และรักษาพระบัญญัติของพระองค์ ดังในเวลานี้"

⁶¹“Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.”

⁶²แล้วกษัตริย์และชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงที่อยู่กับพระองค์ได้ถวายเครื่องสัตวบูชาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

⁶²The king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁶³และซาโลมอนได้ถวายเครื่องสันติบูชา ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ คือวัวสองหมื่นสองพันตัว และแกะหนึ่งแสนสองหมื่นตัว กษัตริย์และคนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงจึงอุทิศถวายพระนิเวศแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์

⁶³Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Yahweh, two and twenty thousand head of cattle, and one hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.

⁶⁴ในวันเดียวกันนั้นกษัตริย์ทรงทำพิธีชำระส่วนกลางของลาน ซึ่งอยู่หน้าพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะว่าที่นั่นพระองค์ได้ถวายเครื่องเผาบูชา และธัญญบูชา และส่วนไขมันของสันติบูชา เพราะว่าแท่นทองสัมฤทธิ์ซึ่งอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์นั้นเล็กเกินไป ไม่พอรับเครื่องเผาบูชาและธัญญบูชา และส่วนไขมันของสันติบูชา

⁶⁴The same day the king made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too little to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings.

⁶⁵ซาโลมอนจึงทรงฉลองเทศกาลในเวลานั้น พร้อมกับอิสราเอลทั้งปวง เป็นชุมนุมมโหฬาร มีคนมาตั้งแต่ทางเข้าเมืองฮามัทจนถึงแม่น้ำแห่งอียิปต์ ต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเรา เป็นเจ็ดวันและเจ็ดวันคือสิบสี่วัน

⁶⁵So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

⁶⁶ในวันที่แปดพระองค์ทรงให้ประชาชนกลับ เขาทั้งหลายก็ถวายพระพรแด่กษัตริย์ และกลับไปสู่เต็นท์ของตน ด้วยจิตใจชื่นบานและยินดี เนื่องด้วยความดีทั้งสิ้นซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และแก่อิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์

⁶⁶On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David his servant, and to Israel his people.
