¹อยู่มาเมื่อซาโลมอนได้สร้างพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์และพระราชวังของกษัตริย์ และบรรดาสิ่งที่ซาโลมอนมีพระประสงค์จะสร้างนั้นสำเร็จแล้ว

¹It happened, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,

²พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปรากฏแก่ซาโลมอนเป็นครั้งที่สอง ดังที่พระองค์ทรงปรากฏแก่ท่านที่กิเบโอน

²that Yahweh appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.

³และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับท่านว่า "เราได้ยินคำอธิษฐานของเจ้าและคำวิงวอนของเจ้าซึ่งเจ้าได้กระทำต่อเรานั้นแล้ว เราได้รับพระนิเวศซึ่งเจ้าได้สร้างนี้ไว้เป็นสถานบริสุทธิ์และได้ประดิษฐานนามของเราไว้ที่นั่นเป็นนิตย์ ตาของเราและใจของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่นตลอดไป

³Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

⁴และถ้าเจ้าดำเนินต่อหน้าเราดังดาวิดบิดาของเจ้าได้ดำเนินด้วยใจซื่อสัตย์ และด้วยความเที่ยงธรรม กระทำทุกอย่างตามที่เราได้บัญชาเจ้าไว้ และรักษากฎเกณฑ์ของเรา และคำตัดสินของเรา

⁴As for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

⁵แล้วเราจะสถาปนาราชบัลลังก์ของเจ้าเหนืออิสราเอลเป็นนิตย์ ดังที่เราได้สัญญากับดาวิดบิดาของเจ้าว่า `เจ้าจะไม่ขาดชายผู้หนึ่งบนบัลลังก์แห่งอิสราเอล'

⁵then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, according as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.’

⁶แต่ถ้าเจ้าหันไปจากการติดตามเรา ตัวเจ้าเองหรือลูกหลานของเจ้าก็ดี และมิได้รักษาบัญญัติของเราและกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา ซึ่งเราได้ตั้งไว้ต่อหน้าเจ้า แต่ไปปรนนิบัติพระอื่นและนมัสการพระนั้น

⁶But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

⁷แล้วเราจะตัดอิสราเอลออกเสียจากแผ่นดินซึ่งเราได้ให้แก่เขาทั้งหลาย และพระนิเวศนี้ซึ่งเราได้กระทำให้เป็นสถานบริสุทธิ์เพื่อนามของเรา เราจะเหวี่ยงออกเสียจากสายตาของเรา และอิสราเอลจะเป็นคำภาษิตและคำครหาท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งปวง

⁷then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

⁸และพระนิเวศนี้ ซึ่งจะเห็นได้ทนโท่ ทุกคนที่ผ่านไปจะฉงนสนเท่ห์ และเขาจะเย้ยหยันและกล่าวว่า `เหตุไฉนพระเยโฮวาห์จึงได้กระทำดั่งนี้แก่แผ่นดินนี้ และแก่พระนิเวศนี้'

⁸Though this house is so high, yet shall everyone who passes by it be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, ‘Why has Yahweh done thus to this land, and to this house?’

⁹แล้วเขาจะตอบว่า `เพราะว่าเขาทั้งหลายได้ทอดทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขา ผู้ได้ทรงนำบรรพบุรุษของเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และได้ยึดถือพระอื่น และนมัสการและปรนนิบัติพระนั้น เพราะฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงนำเหตุร้ายทั้งสิ้นนี้มาเหนือเขาทั้งหลาย'"

⁹and they shall answer, ‘Because they forsook Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and worshiped them, and served them. Therefore Yahweh has brought all this evil on them.’”

¹⁰อยู่มาเมื่อสิ้นยี่สิบปี ซึ่งซาโลมอนได้ทรงสร้างอาคารสองหลัง คือพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระราชวังของกษัตริย์

¹⁰It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of Yahweh and the king’s house

¹¹(ฮีรามกษัตริย์เมืองไทระได้ส่งไม้สนสีดาร์ ไม้สนสามใบและทองคำให้แก่ซาโลมอนตามที่พระองค์มีพระประสงค์แล้ว) กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนจึงทรงประทานหัวเมืองในแผ่นดินกาลิลีให้แก่ฮีรามยี่สิบหัวเมือง

¹¹(now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

¹²แต่เมื่อฮีรามเสด็จจากเมืองไทระเพื่อชมหัวเมืองซึ่งซาโลมอนประทานแก่ท่าน หัวเมืองเหล่านั้นไม่เป็นที่พอพระทัยท่าน

¹²Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they didn’t please him.

¹³เพราะฉะนั้นท่านจึงว่า "พระอนุชาเอ๋ย เมืองซึ่งท่านประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้านั้นเป็นเมืองอะไรอย่างนี้" เขาจึงเรียกเมืองเหล่านั้นว่าแผ่นดินคาบูลจนทุกวันนี้

¹³He said, “What cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” He called them the land of Cabul to this day.

¹⁴ฮีรามได้ส่งทองคำหนึ่งร้อยยี่สิบตะลันต์ให้แก่กษัตริย์

¹⁴Hiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.

¹⁵นี่เป็นเรื่องแรงงานเกณฑ์ ซึ่งกษัตริย์ซาโลมอนได้เกณฑ์เพื่อสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระราชวังของพระองค์ และป้อมมิลโล และกำแพงกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และฮาโซร์ และเมกิดโด และเกเซอร์

¹⁵This is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build the house of Yahweh, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

¹⁶ฟาโรห์กษัตริย์อียิปต์ได้ยกทัพขึ้นมายึดเมืองเกเซอร์และเอาไฟเผาเสีย และได้ฆ่าคนคานาอันซึ่งอยู่ในเมืองนั้น และได้ยกเมืองนั้นให้แก่ธิดาของท่านเป็นสินสมรสคือ มเหสีของซาโลมอน

¹⁶Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a portion to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

¹⁷ซาโลมอนจึงสร้างเกเซอร์ขึ้นใหม่ และสร้างเมืองเบธโฮโรนล่าง

¹⁷Solomon built Gezer, and Beth Horon the lower,

¹⁸ทั้งเมืองบาอาลัทและเมืองทัดโมร์ในถิ่นทุรกันดารในแผ่นดิน

¹⁸and Baalath, and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land,

¹⁹ทั้งบรรดาหัวเมืองคลังหลวงที่ซาโลมอนมีอยู่ และหัวเมืองสำหรับรถรบของพระองค์ และหัวเมืองสำหรับพลม้าของพระองค์ และสิ่งใดๆซึ่งซาโลมอนมีพระประสงค์จะสร้างในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ในเลบานอน และทั่วแผ่นดินซึ่งอยู่ในอาณาจักรของพระองค์

¹⁹and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

²⁰ประชาชนทั้งปวงซึ่งเหลืออยู่จากคนอาโมไรต์ คนฮิตไทต์ คนเปริสซี คนฮีไวต์ และคนเยบุส ผู้ซึ่งไม่ใช่คนอิสราเอล

²⁰As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel;

²¹ลูกหลานของเขาที่เหลืออยู่ในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งประชาชนอิสราเอลไม่สามารถจะทำลายให้สิ้นได้ บุคคลเหล่านี้ซาโลมอนทรงเกณฑ์ให้เป็นทาสอยู่จนทุกวันนี้

²¹their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon raised a levy of bondservants to this day.

²²แต่ประชาชนอิสราเอลนั้น ซาโลมอนหาได้ทรงกระทำให้เป็นทาสไม่ เขาทั้งหลายเป็นทหาร เป็นข้าราชการ เป็นผู้บังคับบัญชาของพระองค์ เป็นนายทหารของพระองค์ เป็นผู้บังคับการรถรบของพระองค์และเป็นพลม้าของพระองค์

²²But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

²³เหล่านี้เป็นเจ้าหน้าที่ชั้นผู้ใหญ่เหนือพระราชกิจของซาโลมอนจำนวนห้าร้อยห้าสิบคน เป็นผู้ดูแลประชาชนที่ทำงาน

²³These were the chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, five hundred fifty, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work.

²⁴แต่ธิดาของฟาโรห์ได้ขึ้นไปจากนครดาวิด ถึงพระตำหนักของพระนางเองซึ่งซาโลมอนได้สร้างให้พระนาง แล้วพระองค์จึงสร้างป้อมมิลโล

²⁴But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her: then he built Millo.

²⁵ปีละสามครั้ง ซาโลมอนได้ทรงถวายเครื่องเผาบูชา และเครื่องสันติบูชาบนแท่นบูชา ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสร้างถวายพระเยโฮวาห์ ทรงเผาเครื่องหอมบนแท่นบูชาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ ดังนั้นพระองค์จึงสร้างพระนิเวศจนสำเร็จ

²⁵Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to Yahweh three times a year, burning incense with them, on the altar that was before Yahweh. So he finished the house.

²⁶กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนทรงสร้างกองเรือกำปั่นที่เอซีโอนเกเบอร์ ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้เอโลท บนฝั่งทะเลแดงในแผ่นดินเอโดม

²⁶King Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds , in the land of Edom.

²⁷และฮีรามได้ส่งข้าราชการและพลเรือผู้ซึ่งคุ้นเคยกับทะเลไปกับกองกำปั่นพร้อมกับข้าราชการของซาโลมอน

²⁷Hiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

²⁸เขาทั้งหลายไปถึงเมืองโอฟีร์ และนำทองคำมาจากที่นั่น จำนวนสี่ร้อยยี่สิบตะลันต์และนำมาถวายกษัตริย์ซาโลมอน

²⁸They came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
