¹เมื่อพระราชินีแห่งเชบาทรงได้ยินกิตติศัพท์แห่งซาโลมอนเกี่ยวกับพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระนางก็เสด็จมาทดลองพระองค์ด้วยปัญหายุ่งยากต่างๆ

¹When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to prove him with hard questions.

²พระนางเสด็จมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม พร้อมด้วยข้าราชบริพารมากมาย มีฝูงอูฐบรรทุกเครื่องเทศและทองคำเป็นอันมาก และเพชรพลอยต่างๆ และเมื่อพระนางเสด็จมาถึงซาโลมอนแล้ว พระนางก็ทูลเรื่องในพระทัยต่อพระองค์ทุกประการ

²She came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.

³และซาโลมอนตรัสตอบปัญหาของพระนางทั้งสิ้น ไม่มีสิ่งใดที่ซ่อนอยู่พ้นกษัตริย์ซึ่งพระองค์จะทรงอธิบายแก่พระนางไม่ได้

³Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her.

⁴และเมื่อพระราชินีแห่งเชบาทรงเห็นพระสติปัญญาทั้งสิ้นของซาโลมอน และพระราชวังที่พระองค์ทรงสร้าง

⁴When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

⁵ทั้งอาหารที่โต๊ะเสวย กับบรรดาข้าราชการที่ประจำอยู่ และมหาดเล็กที่คอยรับใช้อยู่ตลอด จนเครื่องแต่งกาย และพนักงานเชิญถ้วยของพระองค์ และการเสด็จขึ้นไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระทัยของพระนางก็สลดลงทีเดียว

⁵and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.

⁶พระนางทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "ข่าวคราวซึ่งหม่อมฉันได้ยินในประเทศของหม่อมฉัน ถึงพระราชกิจและพระสติปัญญาของพระองค์เป็นความจริง

⁶She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.

⁷แต่หม่อมฉันมิได้เชื่อถ้อยคำนั้น จนหม่อมฉันมาเฝ้า และตาของหม่อมฉันได้เห็นเอง และดูเถิด ที่เขาบอกแก่หม่อมฉันก็ไม่ถึงครึ่งหนึ่ง พระสติปัญญาและความมั่งคั่งของพระองค์ก็มากยิ่งกว่าข่าวคราวที่หม่อมฉันได้ยิน

⁷However I didn’t believe the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it. Behold, the half was not told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.

⁸บรรดาคนของพระองค์ก็เป็นสุข บรรดาข้าราชการเหล่านี้ของพระองค์ผู้อยู่งานประจำต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ และฟังพระสติปัญญาของพระองค์ก็เป็นสุข

⁸Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.

⁹สาธุการแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของพระองค์ ผู้ทรงพอพระทัยในพระองค์ และทรงแต่งตั้งพระองค์ไว้บนบัลลังก์แห่งอิสราเอล เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงรักอิสราเอลเป็นนิตย์พระองค์จึงทรงแต่งตั้งให้พระองค์เป็นกษัตริย์ เพื่อว่าพระองค์จะทรงอำนวยความยุติธรรมและความเที่ยงธรรม"

⁹Blessed is Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do justice and righteousness.”

¹⁰แล้วพระนางก็ถวายทองคำหนึ่งร้อยยี่สิบตะลันต์แด่กษัตริย์ ทั้งเครื่องเทศเป็นจำนวนมาก และเพชรพลอยต่างๆ ไม่มีเครื่องเทศมามากมายดังนี้อีก ดังที่พระราชินีแห่งเชบาถวายแด่กษัตริย์ซาโลมอน

¹⁰She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

¹¹ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก กองกำปั่นของฮีรามซึ่งได้นำทองคำมาจากโอฟีร์ ได้นำไม้จันทน์แดงและเพชรพลอยต่างๆจำนวนมากหลายมาจากโอฟีร์

¹¹The navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.

¹²และกษัตริย์ทรงใช้ไม้จันทน์แดงทำเสาพระนิเวศแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์ และสำหรับพระราชวังของกษัตริย์ และทำพิณเขาคู่และพิณใหญ่สำหรับนักร้อง จนทุกวันนี้ก็ไม่เคยมีไม้จันทน์แดงมาหรือเห็นอย่างนี้อีก

¹²The king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.

¹³กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนทรงพระราชทานทุกอย่างแก่พระราชินีแห่งเชบา ตามที่พระนางมีพระประสงค์ นอกจากสิ่งที่พระราชทานมาจากความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของกษัตริย์แล้วสิ่งใดๆที่พระนางทูลขอ ซาโลมอนก็พระราชทาน ดังนั้น พระนางก็เสด็จกลับไปยังแผ่นดินของพระนาง พร้อมกับข้าราชการของพระนาง

¹³King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

¹⁴น้ำหนักของทองคำที่นำมาส่งซาโลมอนในปีหนึ่งนั้นเป็นทองคำหกร้อยหกสิบหกตะลันต์

¹⁴Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,

¹⁵นอกเหนือจากทองคำซึ่งมาจากพ่อค้า และจากการค้าของพวกพ่อค้า และจากกษัตริย์ทั้งปวงของประเทศอาระเบีย และจากบรรดาเจ้าเมืองแห่งแผ่นดิน

¹⁵besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.

¹⁶กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนทรงสร้างโล่ใหญ่สองร้อยอันด้วยทองคำทุบ โล่อันหนึ่งใช้ทองคำหกร้อยเชเขล

¹⁶King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.

¹⁷และพระองค์ทรงสร้างโล่สามร้อยอันด้วยทองคำทุบ โล่อันหนึ่งใช้ทองคำสามมาเน และกษัตริย์ทรงเก็บโล่ไว้ในพระตำหนักพนาเลบานอน

¹⁷he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

¹⁸กษัตริย์ทรงกระทำพระที่นั่งงาช้างขนาดใหญ่ด้วย และทรงบุด้วยทองคำอย่างงามที่สุด

¹⁸Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.

¹⁹พระที่นั่งนั้นมีบันไดหกขั้น พนักหลังของพระที่นั่งนั้นกลมข้างบน และสองข้างพระที่นั่งมีที่วางพระหัตถ์ มีสิงโตสองตัวยืนอยู่ข้างๆที่วางพระหัตถ์

¹⁹There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.

²⁰มีสิงโตอีกสิบสองตัวยืนอยู่ที่นั่นบนหกขั้นบันไดทั้งสองข้าง เขาไม่เคยทำในราชอาณาจักรใดๆเหมือนอย่างนี้

²⁰Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.

²¹ภาชนะทั้งสิ้นสำหรับเครื่องดื่มของกษัตริย์ซาโลมอนทำด้วยทองคำ และภาชนะทั้งสิ้นของพระตำหนักพนาเลบานอนทำด้วยทองคำบริสุทธิ์ ไม่มีที่ทำด้วยเงินเลย เงินนั้นถือว่าเป็นของไม่มีค่าอะไรในสมัยของซาโลมอน

²¹All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

²²เพราะว่ากษัตริย์มีกองกำปั่นเมืองทารชิช เดินทะเลพร้อมกับกองกำปั่นของฮีราม กองกำปั่นเมืองทารชิชนำทองคำ เงิน งาช้าง ลิง และนกยูงมาสามปีต่อครั้ง

²²For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

²³ดังนี้แหละ กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนจึงได้เปรียบกว่าบรรดากษัตริย์อื่นๆแห่งแผ่นดินโลกในเรื่องสมบัติและสติปัญญา

²³So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

²⁴และทั่วทั้งโลกก็แสวงหาที่จะเข้าเฝ้าซาโลมอน เพื่อจะฟังพระสติปัญญาซึ่งพระเจ้าพระราชทานไว้ในใจของท่าน

²⁴All the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

²⁵ทุกคนก็นำเครื่องบรรณาการของเขามา เป็นเครื่องทำด้วยเงิน เครื่องทำด้วยทองคำ เครื่องแต่งกาย เครื่องอาวุธ เครื่องเทศ ม้า และล่อ ตามจำนวนกำหนดทุกๆปี

²⁵They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

²⁶ซาโลมอนทรงสะสมรถรบและพลม้า พระองค์ทรงมีรถรบหนึ่งพันสี่ร้อยคัน และพลม้าหนึ่งหมื่นสองพันคน ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงให้ประจำอยู่ที่หัวเมืองรถรบ และอยู่กับกษัตริย์ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

²⁶Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁷และกษัตริย์ทรงกระทำให้เงินนั้นเป็นของสามัญในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเหมือนก้อนหิน และทรงกระทำให้มีสนสีดาร์มากมายเหมือนไม้มะเดื่อแห่งหุบเขา

²⁷The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁸ม้าอันเป็นสินค้าเข้าของซาโลมอนมาจากอียิปต์ พร้อมด้วยเส้นด้ายสำหรับผ้าป่าน และบรรดาพ่อค้าของกษัตริย์รับเส้นด้ายสำหรับผ้าป่านนั้นมาตามราคา

²⁸The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.

²⁹จะนำรถรบคันหนึ่งเข้ามาจากอียิปต์ได้ในราคาหกร้อยเชเขลเงิน ม้าตัวหนึ่งหนึ่งร้อยห้าสิบ ดังนั้นโดยทางพวกพ่อค้าเขาก็ส่งออกไปยังบรรดากษัตริย์ทั้งปวงของคนฮิตไทต์ และบรรดากษัตริย์ของซีเรีย

²⁹A chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
