1แล้วพวกเขาบอกดาวิดว่า "ดูเถิด คนฟีลิสเตียกำลังรบเมืองเคอีลาห์อยู่และปล้นเอาข้าวที่ลาน"
1David was told, “Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and are robbing the threshing floors.”
2ดาวิดจึงทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า "ควรที่ข้าพระองค์จะไปต่อสู้กับคนฟีลิสเตียเหล่านี้หรือไม่" และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับดาวิดว่า "จงไปต่อสู้คนฟีลิสเตียและช่วยเมืองเคอีลาห์ให้พ้น"
2Therefore David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I go and strike these Philistines?” Yahweh said to David, “Go strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.”
3แต่คนของดาวิดเรียนท่านว่า "ดูเถิด เราอยู่ในยูดาห์นี่ก็ยังกลัวอยู่ ถ้าเราขึ้นไปยังเคอีลาห์สู้รบกับกองทัพของฟีลิสเตียเราจะยิ่งกลัวมากขึ้นเท่าใด"
3David’s men said to him, “Behold, we are afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”
4แล้วดาวิดก็ทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์อีก และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสตอบท่านว่า "จงลุกขึ้นลงไปยังเคอีลาห์เถิด เพราะเราจะมอบคนฟีลิสเตียไว้ในมือของเจ้า"
4Then David inquired of Yahweh yet again. Yahweh answered him, and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
5และดาวิดกับคนของท่านก็ไปยังเคอีลาห์ต่อสู้กับคนฟีลิสเตีย นำเอาสัตว์เลี้ยงของเขาไป และฆ่าฟันเขาทั้งหลายเสียเป็นอันมาก ดังนั้นแหละดาวิดก็ได้ช่วยชาวเมืองเคอีลาห์ให้พ้น
5David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their livestock, and killed them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
6อยู่มาเมื่ออาบียาธาร์บุตรชายของอาหิเมเลคหนีไปหาดาวิดที่เมืองเคอีลาห์นั้น เขาถือเอโฟดลงมาด้วย
6It happened, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.
7มีคนไปทูลซาอูลว่า ดาวิดมาที่เคอีลาห์แล้ว ซาอูลจึงตรัสว่า "พระเจ้าทรงมอบเขาไว้ในมือเราแล้ว เพราะที่เขาเข้าไปในเมืองที่มีประตูและดาล เขาก็ขังตัวเองไว้"
7It was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars.”
8และซาอูลทรงให้เรียกพลทั้งปวงเข้าสงคราม ให้ลงไปยังเคอีลาห์เพื่อล้อมดาวิดกับคนของท่านไว้
8Saul summoned all the people to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
9ดาวิดทราบว่าซาอูลทรงคิดร้ายต่อท่าน ท่านจึงพูดกับอาบียาธาร์ปุโรหิตว่า "จงนำเอาเอโฟดมาที่นี่เถิด"
9David knew that Saul was devising mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod here.”
10ดาวิดกราบทูลว่า "ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ได้ยินแน่ว่า ซาอูลหาช่องที่จะมายังเคอีลาห์เพื่อทำลายเมืองนี้เพราะข้าพระองค์เป็นเหตุ
10Then David said, “O Yahweh, the God of Israel, your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
11ประชาชนชาวเคอีลาห์จะมอบข้าพระองค์ไว้ในมือท่านหรือ ซาอูลจะเสด็จลงมาดังที่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ได้ยินนั้นหรือ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ขอพระองค์ทรงบอกผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์เถิด" และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เขาจะลงมา"
11Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Yahweh, the God of Israel, I beg you, tell your servant.” Yahweh said, “He will come down.”
12แล้วดาวิดจึงกราบทูลว่า "ประชาชนชาวเคอีลาห์จะมอบข้าพระองค์และคนของข้าพระองค์ไว้ในมือของซาอูลหรือ" และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เขาทั้งหลายจะมอบเจ้าไว้"
12Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?” Yahweh said, “They will deliver you up.”
13แล้วดาวิดกับคนของท่านซึ่งมีประมาณหกร้อยคนก็ลุกขึ้นไปเสียจากเคอีลาห์ และเขาทั้งหลายก็ไปตามแต่ที่เขาจะไปได้ เมื่อมีคนไปทูลซาอูลว่า ดาวิดหนีไปจากเคอีลาห์แล้ว ซาอูลก็ทรงเลิกการติดตาม
13Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went wherever they could go. It was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he gave up going there.
14และดาวิดก็อยู่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารตามที่กำบังเข้มแข็งและอยู่ในแดนเทือกเขาแห่งถิ่นทุรกันดารศิฟ และซาอูลก็ทรงแสวงท่านทุกวัน แต่พระเจ้ามิได้มอบท่านไว้ในมือของซาอูล
14David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God didn’t deliver him into his hand.
15และดาวิดเห็นว่าซาอูลได้ทรงออกมาแสวงชีวิตของเธอ ดาวิดอยู่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารศิฟที่ป่าไม้
15David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the wood.
16และโยนาธานราชบุตรของซาอูลได้ลุกขึ้นไปหาดาวิดที่ป่าไม้ และสนับสนุนมือของเธอให้เข้มแข็งขึ้นในพระเจ้า
16Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose, and went to David into the woods, and strengthened his hand in God.
17โยนาธานพูดกับเธอว่า "อย่ากลัวเลย เพราะว่ามือของซาอูลเสด็จพ่อของฉันจะหาเธอไม่พบ เธอจะได้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนืออิสราเอล และฉันจะเป็นอุปราช ซาอูลเสด็จพ่อของฉันก็ทราบเรื่องนี้ด้วย"
17He said to him, “Don’t be afraid; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you; and that also Saul my father knows.”
18และทั้งสองก็กระทำพันธสัญญาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ ดาวิดยังค้างอยู่ที่ป่าไม้ และโยนาธานก็กลับไปวัง
18They both made a covenant before Yahweh: and David stayed in the woods, and Jonathan went to his house.
19ฝ่ายชาวศิฟได้ขึ้นไปหาซาอูลที่กิเบอาห์ทูลว่า "ดาวิดได้ซ่อนตัวอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกข้าพระองค์ ในที่กำบังเข้มแข็งที่ป่าไม้ บนเนินเขาฮาคีลาห์ ซึ่งอยู่ใต้เยชิโมนมิใช่หรือ
19Then the Ziphites came up to Saul to Gibeah, saying, “Doesn’t David hide himself with us in the strongholds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of the desert?
20ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอเสด็จลงไปตามสุดพระทัยปรารถนาที่จะลงไป ฝ่ายพวกข้าพระองค์จะมอบเขาไว้ในหัตถ์ของกษัตริย์"
20Now therefore, O king, come down, according to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him up into the king’s hand.”
21และซาอูลตรัสว่า "ขอพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงอำนวยพระพรแก่พวกท่าน เพราะพวกท่านปรานีเรา
21Saul said, “You are blessed by Yahweh; for you have had compassion on me.
22จงไปหาดูให้แน่นอนยิ่งขึ้น ดูให้รู้ว่าเขาอยู่ที่ไหน ใครเห็นเขาที่นั่นบ้าง เพราะมีคนบอกข้าว่า เขาฉลาดนัก
22Please go make yet more sure, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who has seen him there; for it is told me that he deals very subtly.
23เพราะฉะนั้นจงไปสังเกตดูที่ซุ่มว่าเขาซ่อนตัวอยู่ที่ไหน และกลับมาเอาเนื้อความแน่นอนมาบอกเรา แล้วเราจะไปกับท่าน ต่อมาถ้าเขาอยู่ในเขตแผ่นดิน เราจะค้นหาเขาในบรรดาคนยูดาห์ที่นับเป็นพันๆ"
23See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and come again to me with certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall happen, if he is in the land, that I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”
24เขาทั้งหลายก็ลุกขึ้นไปยังศิฟก่อนซาอูล ฝ่ายดาวิดกับคนของท่านอยู่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารมาโอนในที่ราบใต้เยชิโมน
24They arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the Arabah on the south of the desert.
25ซาอูลกับคนของพระองค์ก็แสวงท่าน มีคนบอกดาวิด ท่านจึงลงไปยังศิลาและอยู่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารมาโอน เมื่อซาอูลทรงได้ยินดังนั้นก็ทรงติดตามดาวิดไปในถิ่นทุรกันดารมาโอน
25Saul and his men went to seek him. When David was told, he went down to the rock, and stayed in the wilderness of Maon. When Saul heard that, he pursued David in the wilderness of Maon.
26ซาอูลเสด็จไปฟากภูเขาข้างนี้ ดาวิดกับคนของท่านอยู่ฟากภูเขาข้างโน้น ดาวิดก็รีบหนีจากพระพักตร์ซาอูล เพราะซาอูลกับคนของพระองค์มาล้อมรอบดาวิดกับคนของท่านเพื่อจะจับ
26Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men surrounded David and his men to take them.
27แต่มีผู้สื่อสารคนหนึ่งมาทูลซาอูลว่า "ขอรีบเสด็จกลับ เพราะคนฟีลิสเตียยกกองทัพมาบุกรุกแผ่นดิน"
27But a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come; for the Philistines have made a raid on the land!”
28ซาอูลจึงเสด็จกลับจากการไล่ตามดาวิดไปรบกับฟีลิสเตีย เขาจึงเรียกที่นั้นว่าเส-ลาฮามาเลคอท
28So Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela Hammahlekoth.
29ดาวิดก็ขึ้นไปจากที่นั่นไปอาศัยอยู่ในที่กำบังเข้มแข็งแห่งเอนเกดี
29David went up from there, and lived in the strongholds of En Gedi.
