1อยู่มาในครั้งนั้นคนฟีลิสเตียได้รวบรวมกำลังเพื่อทำสงครามสู้รบกับอิสราเอล และอาคีชตรัสกับดาวิดว่า "จงเข้าใจเถิดว่า ท่านกับคนของท่านจะออกทัพไปกับเรา"
1It happened in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. Achish said to David, “Know assuredly that you shall go out with me in the army, you and your men.”
2ดาวิดทูลอาคีชว่า "ดีทีเดียวพ่ะย่ะค่ะ พระองค์จะได้ทราบว่าผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จะกระทำอะไรได้บ้าง" และอาคีชรับสั่งกับดาวิดว่า "ดีแล้ว เราจะให้ท่านเป็นองครักษ์ของเราตลอดชีพ"
2David said to Achish, “Therefore you shall know what your servant will do.” Achish said to David, “Therefore will I make you my bodyguard for ever.”
3ฝ่ายซามูเอลได้สิ้นชีพแล้ว และคนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงก็ไว้ทุกข์ให้ท่าน และฝังศพท่านไว้ในเมืองรามาห์ ซึ่งเป็นเมืองของท่านเอง และซาอูลทรงกำจัดคนทรงและพ่อมดแม่มดเสียจากแผ่นดิน
3Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. Saul had put away those who had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
4คนฟีลิสเตียก็ชุมนุมกันและมาตั้งค่ายอยู่ที่ชูเนม และซาอูลทรงรวบรวมอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นและเขาทั้งหลายตั้งค่ายอยู่ที่กิลโบอา
4The Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and encamped in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped in Gilboa.
5เมื่อซาอูลทอดพระเนตรกองทัพของคนฟีลิสเตียก็กลัว และพระทัยของพระองค์ก็หวั่นไหวมาก
5When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
6และเมื่อซาอูลทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์ พระเยโฮวาห์มิได้ทรงตอบพระองค์ ไม่ว่าด้วยความฝัน หรือด้วยอูริม หรือด้วยผู้พยากรณ์
6When Saul inquired of Yahweh, Yahweh didn’t answer him, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7ซาอูลจึงรับสั่งกับมหาดเล็กของพระองค์ว่า "จงออกไปหาหญิงที่เป็นคนทรง เพื่อเราจะได้ไปหาและถามเขาดู" และมหาดเล็กก็กราบทูลว่า "ดูเถิด มีหญิงคนทรงคนหนึ่งอยู่ที่บ้านเอนโดร์"
7Then Saul said to his servants, “Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her.” His servants said to him, “Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at Endor.”
8ซาอูลจึงปลอมพระองค์และทรงฉลองพระองค์อย่างอื่นเสด็จออกไปพร้อมกับชายสองคนไปหาหญิงคนทรงในเวลากลางคืน พระองค์ตรัสว่า "ขอทำนายให้ฉันโดยวิญญาณของคนตาย ฉันจะออกชื่อผู้ใดก็ให้เรียกผู้นั้นขึ้นมา"
8Saul disguised himself, and put on other clothing, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, “Please divine to me by the familiar spirit, and bring me up whomever I shall name to you.”
9หญิงคนนั้นจึงทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "ดูเถิด ท่านทราบแล้วว่าซาอูลทรงกระทำอะไร ที่ได้ขจัดคนทรงและพ่อมดแม่มดเสียจากแผ่นดิน ทำไมท่านจึงมาวางกับดักชีวิตของข้าพเจ้าเล่า เพื่อทำให้ข้าพเจ้าถูกประหาร"
9The woman said to him, “Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?”
10แต่ซาอูลทรงปฏิญาณกับหญิงนั้นในพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่แน่ฉันใด เจ้าจะไม่ถูกโทษเพราะเรื่องนี้แน่ฉันนั้น"
10Saul swore to her by Yahweh, saying, “As Yahweh lives, no punishment shall happen to you for this thing.”
11หญิงนั้นจึงทูลถามว่า "ท่านจะให้ข้าพเจ้าเรียกใครขึ้นมา" ซาอูลตรัสว่า "เรียกซามูเอลขึ้นมาให้ฉัน"
11Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up to you?” He said, “Bring Samuel up for me.”
12และเมื่อหญิงคนนั้นเห็นซามูเอล จึงร้องเสียงดัง และหญิงนั้นกราบทูลซาอูลว่า "ไฉนพระองค์จึงทรงล่อลวงหม่อมฉัน พระองค์คือซาอูล"
12When the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice; and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!”
13กษัตริย์ตรัสแก่นางว่า "อย่ากลัวเลย เจ้าได้เห็นอะไร" และหญิงนั้นกราบทูลซาอูลว่า "หม่อมฉันเห็นเทพยเจ้าองค์หนึ่งเสด็จขึ้นมาจากแผ่นดิน"
13The king said to her, “Don’t be afraid. For what do you see?” The woman said to Saul, “I see a god coming up out of the earth.”
14พระองค์ถามนางว่า "รูปร่างของเขาเป็นอย่างไร" และนางตอบว่า "เป็นผู้ชายแก่ขึ้นมา มีเสื้อคลุมกายอยู่" ซาอูลก็ทรงทราบว่าเป็นซามูเอล พระองค์ทรงโน้มพระกายลงถึงดินกราบไหว้
14He said to her, “What does he look like?” She said, “An old man comes up. He is covered with a robe.” Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and showed respect.
15แล้วซามูเอลพูดกับซาอูลว่า "ท่านรบกวนเราด้วยเรียกเราขึ้นมาทำไม" ซาอูลทรงตอบว่า "ข้าพเจ้ามีความทุกข์หนัก เพราะคนฟีลิสเตียกำลังมาทำสงครามกับข้าพเจ้า และพระเจ้าทรงหันจากข้าพเจ้าเสียแล้ว มิได้ทรงตอบข้าพเจ้าอีกเลย ไม่ว่าโดยผู้พยากรณ์ หรือโดยความฝัน เพราะฉะนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงขอเรียกท่านขึ้นมาเพื่อท่านจะได้แจ้งว่า ข้าพเจ้าจะกระทำประการใดดี"
15Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up?” Saul answered, “I am very distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.”
16และซามูเอลตอบว่า "ในเมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงหันจากท่านเสียแล้ว และเป็นศัตรูของท่าน ท่านจะมาถามข้าพเจ้าทำไมเล่า
16Samuel said, “Why then do you ask of me, since Yahweh has departed from you and has become your adversary?
17พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงกระทำแก่ท่านอย่างที่พระองค์ตรัสบอกทางข้าพเจ้าแล้วนั้น เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงฉีกราชอาณาจักรนั้นออกเสียจากมือของท่าน และทรงมอบให้แก่คนใกล้เคียง คือดาวิด
17Yahweh has done to you as he spoke by me. Yahweh has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, even to David.
18เพราะท่านมิได้เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์ มิได้กระทำตามพระพิโรธของพระองค์ที่ทรงมีต่ออามาเลข ฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์จึงทรงกระทำสิ่งนี้แก่ท่านในวันนี้
18Because you didn’t obey the voice of Yahweh, and didn’t execute his fierce wrath on Amalek, therefore Yahweh has done this thing to you this day.
19ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงมอบอิสราเอลพร้อมกับตัวท่านไว้ในมือของคนฟีลิสเตีย พรุ่งนี้ตัวท่านพร้อมกับบุตรชายทั้งหลายของท่านจะอยู่กับเรา และพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงมอบกองทัพอิสราเอลไว้ในมือของคนฟีลิสเตียด้วย"
19Moreover Yahweh will deliver Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Yahweh will deliver the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines.”
20แล้วซาอูลก็ทรงล้มลงเหยียดยาวบนพื้นดินในทันที กลัวยิ่งนักเพราะถ้อยคำของซามูเอล และไม่มีกำลังเหลืออยู่ในพระองค์ เพราะไม่ได้เสวยพระกระยาหารมาตลอดวันหนึ่งกับคืนหนึ่งแล้ว
20Then Saul fell immediately his full length on the earth, and was terrified, because of the words of Samuel. There was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
21หญิงนั้นก็เข้ามาหาซาอูล และเมื่อนางเห็นว่าพระองค์ตกพระทัยมาก จึงทูลว่า "ดูเถิด หญิงผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ก็ย่อมเชื่อฟังรับสั่งของพระองค์ ยอมเสี่ยงชีวิต และยอมฟังพระดำรัสที่พระองค์ตรัสสั่งทุกประการ
21The woman came to Saul, and saw that he was very troubled, and said to him, “Behold, your handmaid has listened to your voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have listened to your words which you spoke to me.
22เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอพระองค์จงฟังเสียงหญิงผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์บ้าง ขอหม่อมฉันได้ถวายพระกระยาหารต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์สักหน่อยหนึ่ง ขอพระองค์เสวย เพื่อพระองค์จะทรงมีพระกำลังเมื่อกลับตามทางของพระองค์"
22Now therefore, please listen also to the voice of your handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength, when you go on your way.”
23พระองค์ก็ทรงปฏิเสธ รับสั่งว่า "ไม่กิน" แต่มหาดเล็กกับหญิงนั้นอ้อนวอนพระองค์ พระองค์ก็ทรงฟังเสียงของเขา พระองค์ทรงลุกขึ้นจากพื้นดินประทับบนเตียง
23But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, constrained him; and he listened to their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat on the bed.
24หญิงนั้นมีลูกวัวอ้วนอยู่ในบ้านตัวหนึ่ง ก็รีบฆ่าเสีย เอาแป้งมานวดปิ้งทำขนมปังไร้เชื้อ
24The woman had a fattened calf in the house. She hurried and killed it; and she took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread of it.
25นางก็นำมาถวายแก่ซาอูลและทรงเสวยกับให้มหาดเล็ก เขารับประทาน แล้วก็ทรงลุกขึ้นเสด็จกลับไปในคืนนั้น
25She brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
