1เยโฮชาฟัทโอรสของพระองค์ครอบครองแทนพระองค์ และทรงเสริมกำลังพลต่อสู้อิสราเอล
1Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.
2พระองค์ทรงวางกำลังพลไว้ในหัวเมืองที่มีป้อมทั้งปวงของยูดาห์ และทรงตั้งทหารประจำป้อมในแผ่นดินยูดาห์ และในหัวเมืองเอฟราอิม ซึ่งอาสาราชบิดาของพระองค์ได้ยึดไว้
2He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตกับเยโฮชาฟัท เพราะพระองค์ทรงดำเนินในทางเบื้องต้นๆของดาวิดราชบิดาของพระองค์ พระองค์มิได้ทรงแสวงหาพระบาอัล
3Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,
4แต่ได้แสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของพระราชบิดาของพระองค์ และดำเนินในพระบัญญัติของพระองค์ มิได้ทรงดำเนินตามการกระทำของอิสราเอล
4but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
5เพราะฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถาปนาราชอาณาจักรไว้ในพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ และสิ้นทั้งยูดาห์ก็นำเครื่องบรรณาการมาถวายเยโฮชาฟัท พระองค์จึงมีทรัพย์มั่งคั่งอย่างยิ่งและมีเกียรติมาก
5Therefore Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.
6พระทัยของพระองค์เข้มแข็งขึ้นในพระมรรคาของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์จึงทรงกำจัดปูชนียสถานสูงและบรรดาเสารูปเคารพเสียจากยูดาห์
6His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7ในปีที่สามแห่งรัชกาลของพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงใช้เจ้านายของพระองค์คือ เบนฮาอิล โอบาดีห์ เศคาริยาห์ เนธันเอล และมีคายาห์ไปสั่งสอนในหัวเมืองของยูดาห์
7Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
8และคนเลวีไปกับเขาด้วยคือ เชไมอาห์ เนธานิยาห์ เศบาดิยาห์ อาสาเฮล เชมิราโมท เยโฮนาธัน อาโดนียาห์ โทบียาห์ และโทบาโดนิยาห์ คนเลวี และพร้อมกับคนเหล่านี้มี เอลีชามา และเยโฮรัม ผู้เป็นปุโรหิต
8and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9และเขาทั้งหลายได้สั่งสอนในยูดาห์ มีหนังสือพระราชบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์ไปกับเขาด้วย เขาเที่ยวไปทั่วหัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นแห่งยูดาห์ และได้สั่งสอนประชาชน
9They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Yahweh with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
10ความหวาดกลัวอันมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ตกอยู่เหนือบรรดาราชอาณาจักรแห่งแผ่นดินต่างๆที่อยู่รอบยูดาห์ และเขาทั้งหลายมิได้ทำสงครามกับเยโฮชาฟัท
10The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
11คนฟีลิสเตียบางพวกได้นำของกำนัลมาถวายเยโฮชาฟัท และนำเงินมาเป็นบรรณาการ และพวกอาระเบียได้นำฝูงแพะแกะ คือแกะผู้เจ็ดพันเจ็ดร้อยตัว และแพะผู้เจ็ดพันเจ็ดร้อยตัวมาถวายพระองค์
11Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12และเยโฮชาฟัททรงเจริญใหญ่ยิ่งขึ้นเป็นลำดับ พระองค์ทรงสร้างป้อมและหัวเมืองคลังหลวงไว้ในยูดาห์
12Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.
13และพระองค์ทรงมีพระราชกิจมากมายในหัวเมืองของยูดาห์ พระองค์ทรงมีทหารเป็นทแกล้วทหารในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
13He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
14ต่อไปนี้เป็นจำนวนตามเรือนบรรพบุรุษของเขาคือ ของยูดาห์ ผู้บังคับบัญชากองพันมี อัดนาห์ผู้บังคับบัญชา พร้อมกับทแกล้วทหารสามแสนคน
14This was the numbering of them according to their fathers’ houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;
15ถัดเขาไปคือ เยโฮฮานัน ผู้บังคับบัญชาพร้อมกับสองแสนแปดหมื่นคน
15and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;
16และถัดเขาไปคือ อามัสยาห์ บุตรชายศิครี เป็นคนอาสาสมัครเพื่อการปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์พร้อมกับทแกล้วทหารสองแสนคน
16and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Yahweh; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17ของเบนยามินคือ เอลียาดา ทแกล้วทหารพร้อมกับคนสองแสนสรรพด้วยธนูและโล่
17Of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
18และถัดเขาไปคือ เยโฮซาบาด พร้อมกับคนติดอาวุธหนึ่งแสนแปดหมื่นคน
18and next to him Jehozabad and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready prepared for war.
19เหล่านี้เป็นข้าราชการของกษัตริย์ นอกเหนือจากผู้ที่กษัตริย์ทรงวางไว้ในหัวเมืองที่มีป้อมทั่วตลอดแผ่นดินยูดาห์
19These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
