1ฝ่ายเยโฮชาฟัททรงมีทรัพย์มั่งคั่งและเกียรติใหญ่ยิ่ง และพระองค์ทรงกระทำให้เป็นทองแผ่นเดียวกันกับอาหับ
1Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he joined affinity with Ahab.
2ครั้นล่วงมาหลายปีพระองค์เสด็จลงไปเฝ้าอาหับในสะมาเรีย และอาหับทรงฆ่าแกะและวัวมากมายสำหรับพระองค์ และสำหรับพลที่มากับพระองค์ และทรงชักชวนพระองค์ให้ขึ้นไปต่อสู้กับราโมทกิเลอาด
2After certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
3อาหับกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลตรัสกับเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ว่า "ท่านจะไปกับข้าพเจ้ายังราโมทกิเลอาดหรือ" พระองค์ทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นอย่างที่ท่านเป็น ประชาชนของข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นดังประชาชนของท่าน เราจะอยู่กับท่านในการสงคราม"
3Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
4และเยโฮชาฟัทตรัสกับกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลว่า "ขอสอบถามดูพระดำรัสของพระเยโฮวาห์วันนี้เสียก่อน"
4Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh.”
5แล้วกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลก็เรียกประชุมพวกผู้พยากรณ์ประมาณสี่ร้อยคนตรัสกับเขาว่า "ควรที่เราจะไปตีราโมทกิเลอาดหรือ หรือเราไม่ควรไป" และเขาทั้งหลายทูลตอบว่า "ขอเชิญเสด็จขึ้นไปเถิด เพราะพระเจ้าจะทรงมอบไว้ในพระหัตถ์ของกษัตริย์"
5Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
6แต่เยโฮชาฟัททูลว่า "ที่นี่ไม่มีผู้พยากรณ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์อีกสักคนหนึ่งหรือซึ่งเราจะสอบถามได้"
6But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?”
7และกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลทูลเยโฮชาฟัทว่า "ยังมีชายอีกคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งเราจะให้ทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ แต่ข้าพเจ้าชังเขา เพราะเขาพยากรณ์แต่ความร้ายเสมอ ไม่เคยพยากรณ์ความดีเกี่ยวกับข้าพเจ้าเลย คนนั้นคือมีคายาห์บุตรอิมลาห์" และเยโฮชาฟัททูลว่า "ขอกษัตริย์อย่าตรัสดั่งนั้นเลย"
7The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
8แล้วกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลจึงเรียกมหาดเล็กคนหนึ่งเข้ามาและตรัสสั่งว่า "ไปพามีคายาห์บุตรอิมลาห์มาเร็วๆ"
8Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
9ฝ่ายกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลและเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ ต่างประทับบนพระที่นั่ง ทรงฉลองพระองค์ ณ ที่ว่างตรงทางเข้าประตูเมืองสะมาเรีย และผู้พยากรณ์ทั้งปวงก็พยากรณ์ถวายอยู่
9Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10และเศเดคียาห์บุตรชายเคนาอะนาห์ จึงเอาเหล็กทำเป็นเขา และพูดว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `ด้วยสิ่งเหล่านี้ เจ้าจะผลักคนซีเรียไปจนเขาทั้งหลายถูกทำลาย'"
10Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
11และบรรดาผู้พยากรณ์ก็พยากรณ์อย่างนั้น ทูลว่า "ขอเสด็จขึ้นไปราโมทกิเลอาดเถิด และจะมีชัยชนะ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงมอบเมืองนั้นไว้ในพระหัตถ์ของกษัตริย์"
11All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
12และผู้สื่อสารผู้ไปตามมีคายาห์ได้บอกท่านว่า "ดูเถิด ถ้อยคำของบรรดาผู้พยากรณ์ก็พูดสิ่งที่ดีแก่กษัตริย์ดุจปากเดียวกัน ขอให้ถ้อยคำของท่านเหมือนอย่างถ้อยคำของคนหนึ่งในพวกนั้น และพูดแต่สิ่งที่ดี"
12The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
13แต่มีคายาห์ตอบว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่แน่ฉันใด พระเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าตรัสว่าอย่างไร ข้าพเจ้าจะพูดอย่างนั้น"
13Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what my God says, that will I speak.”
14และเมื่อท่านมาเฝ้ากษัตริย์ กษัตริย์ตรัสถามท่านว่า "มีคายาห์ ควรที่เราจะไปตีราโมทกิเลอาดหรือ หรือเราไม่ควรไป" และท่านทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "ขอเชิญเสด็จขึ้นไปและจะมีชัยชนะ เขาทั้งหลายจะถูกมอบไว้ในพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์"
14When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
15แต่กษัตริย์ตรัสกับท่านว่า "เราได้ให้เจ้าปฏิญาณกี่ครั้งแล้วว่า เจ้าจะพูดกับเราแต่ความจริงในพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์"
15The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”
16และท่านทูลว่า "ข้าพระองค์ได้เห็นคนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงกระจัดกระจายอยู่บนภูเขา อย่างแกะที่ไม่มีผู้เลี้ยง และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า `คนเหล่านี้ไม่มีนาย ให้เขาต่างกลับยังเรือนของตนโดยสันติภาพเถิด'"
16He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them return every man to his house in peace.’”
17กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลจึงทูลเยโฮชาฟัทว่า "ข้าพเจ้ามิได้บอกท่านแล้วหรือว่า เขาจะไม่พยากรณ์สิ่งดีเกี่ยวกับข้าพเจ้าเลย แต่สิ่งชั่วร้ายต่างหาก"
17The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
18และมีคายาห์ทูลว่า "ฉะนั้นขอสดับพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ ข้าพระองค์ได้เห็นพระเยโฮวาห์ประทับบนพระที่นั่งของพระองค์ และบรรดาบริวารแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ยืนข้างๆพระองค์ข้างขวาพระหัตถ์และข้างซ้าย
18Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า `ผู้ใดจะเกลี้ยกล่อมอาหับกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล เพื่อเขาจะขึ้นไปและล้มลงที่ราโมทกิเลอาด' บ้างก็ทูลอย่างนี้ บ้างก็ทูลอย่างนั้น
19Yahweh said, ‘Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
20แล้วมีวิญญาณดวงหนึ่งมาข้างหน้าเฝ้าต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ทูลว่า `ข้าพระองค์จะเกลี้ยกล่อมเขาเอง' และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับเขาว่า `จะทำอย่างไร'
20A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’
21และเขาทูลว่า `ข้าพระองค์จะออกไปและจะเป็นวิญญาณมุสาอยู่ในปากของผู้พยากรณ์ของเขาทุกคน' และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า `เจ้าไปเกลี้ยกล่อมเขาได้ และเจ้าจะทำได้สำเร็จ จงไปทำเช่นนั้นเถิด'
21“He said, ‘I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go forth, and do so.’
22เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ ดูเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงใส่วิญญาณมุสาในปากของเหล่าผู้พยากรณ์ของพระองค์ พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงลั่นพระวาจาเป็นความร้ายเกี่ยวกับพระองค์"
22“Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
23แล้วเศเดคียาห์บุตรชายเคนาอะนาห์ได้เข้ามาใกล้และตบแก้มมีคายาห์พูดว่า "พระวิญญาณของพระเยโฮวาห์ไปจากข้าพูดกับเจ้าได้อย่างไร"
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?”
24และมีคายาห์ตอบว่า "ดูเถิด เจ้าจะเห็นในวันนั้น เมื่อเจ้าเข้าไปในห้องชั้นในเพื่อจะซ่อนตัวเจ้า"
24Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
25และกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลตรัสว่า "จงจับมีคายาห์ พาเขากลับไปมอบให้อาโมนผู้ว่าราชการเมือง และแก่โยอาชราชโอรส
25The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
26และว่า `กษัตริย์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เอาคนนี้จำคุกเสีย ให้อาหารแห่งความทุกข์กับน้ำแห่งความทุกข์ จนกว่าเราจะกลับมาโดยสันติภาพ'"
26and say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
27และมีคายาห์ทูลว่า "ถ้าพระองค์เสด็จกลับมาโดยสันติภาพ พระเยโฮวาห์ก็มิได้ตรัสโดยข้าพระองค์" และท่านกล่าวว่า "บรรดาชนชาติทั้งหลายเอ๋ย ขอจงฟังเถิด"
27Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you peoples, all of you!”
28กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลกับเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์จึงเสด็จขึ้นไปยังราโมทกิเลอาด
28So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
29และกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลตรัสกับเยโฮชาฟัทว่า "ข้าพเจ้าจะปลอมตัวเข้าทำศึก แต่ท่านจงสวมเครื่องทรงของท่าน" และกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลก็ทรงปลอมพระองค์ แล้วทั้งสองพระองค์เข้าทำสงคราม
29The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
30ฝ่ายกษัตริย์ประเทศซีเรียทรงบัญชาบรรดาผู้บัญชาการรถรบของพระองค์ว่า "อย่ารบกับทหารน้อยหรือใหญ่ แต่มุ่งเฉพาะกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล"
30Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
31และอยู่มาเมื่อผู้บัญชาการรถรบแลเห็นเยโฮชาฟัท เขาทั้งหลายก็ว่า "เป็นกษัตริย์อิสราเอลแล้ว" เขาจึงหันเข้าไปจะสู้รบกับพระองค์ และเยโฮชาฟัททรงร้องขึ้น และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงช่วยพระองค์ พระเจ้าทรงให้เขาทั้งหลายออกไปเสียจากพระองค์
31It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32และอยู่มาเมื่อผู้บัญชาการรถรบเห็นว่าไม่ใช่กษัตริย์อิสราเอล ก็หันรถกลับจากไล่ตามพระองค์
32It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
33แต่มีชายคนหนึ่งโก่งธนูยิงเดาไป ถูกกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลเข้าระหว่างเกล็ดเกราะและแผ่นบังพระอุระ พระองค์จึงรับสั่งกับคนขับรถว่า "หันกลับเถอะ พาเราออกจากการรบ เพราะเราบาดเจ็บแล้ว"
33A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn your hand, and carry me out of the army; for I am severely wounded.”
34วันนั้นการรบก็ดุเดือดขึ้น และกษัตริย์อิสราเอลก็พยุงพระองค์เองขึ้นไปในรถรบของพระองค์หันพระพักตร์เข้าสู้ชนซีเรียจนถึงเวลาเย็น แล้วประมาณเวลาดวงอาทิตย์ตกพระองค์ก็สิ้นพระชนม์
34The battle increased that day. However the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and about the time of the going down of the sun, he died.
