1เยโฮชาฟัทก็ล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาฝังพระศพไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ในนครดาวิด และเยโฮรัมโอรสของพระองค์ครอบครองแทนพระองค์
1Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
2พระองค์ทรงมีพระอนุชา ผู้เป็นโอรสของเยโฮชาฟัทคือ อาซาริยาห์ เยฮีเอล เศคาริยาห์ อาซาริยาห์ มีคาเอล เชฟาทิยาห์ เหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นเป็นโอรสของเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์ของอิสราเอล
2He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3พระราชบิดาของเขาทั้งหลายประทานเงิน ทองคำ และของอันมีค่ามากมาย พร้อมกับหัวเมืองที่มีป้อมในยูดาห์ แต่พระองค์ประทานราชอาณาจักรแก่เยโฮรัม เพราะว่าท่านเป็นโอรสหัวปี
3Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.
4เมื่อเยโฮรัมได้ขึ้นครอบครองราชอาณาจักรของราชบิดาของพระองค์และได้สถาปนาไว้แล้ว พระองค์ทรงประหารพระอนุชาของพระองค์เสียหมดด้วยดาบ ทั้งเจ้านายบางคนของอิสราเอลด้วย
4Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and various also of the princes of Israel.
5เมื่อเยโฮรัมทรงเริ่มครอบครองนั้นพระองค์มีพระชนมายุสามสิบสองพรรษา และพระองค์ทรงครอบครองในเยรูซาเล็มแปดปี
5Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6และพระองค์ทรงดำเนินตามมรรคาของกษัตริย์ทั้งหลายแห่งอิสราเอล ตามอย่างที่ราชวงศ์อาหับกระทำ เพราะว่าธิดาของอาหับเป็นมเหสีของพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ชั่วร้ายในสายพระเนตรพระเยโฮวาห์
6He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
7อย่างไรก็ดีพระเยโฮวาห์จะไม่ทรงทำลายราชวงศ์ของดาวิด เพราะเหตุพันธสัญญาซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำไว้กับดาวิด และเหตุที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาว่าจะประทานประทีปแก่ดาวิดและแก่ลูกหลานของพระองค์เป็นนิตย์
7However Yahweh would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.
8ในรัชกาลของพระองค์เอโดมได้กบฏออกห่างจากการปกครองของยูดาห์ และตั้งกษัตริย์ขึ้นเหนือตน
8In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
9แล้วเยโฮรัมก็เสด็จออกไปพร้อมกับบรรดาเจ้านายและรถรบทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงลุกขึ้นในกลางคืนโจมตีคนเอโดม ซึ่งมาล้อมพระองค์และผู้บังคับบัญชารถรบไว้
9Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, along with the captains of the chariots.
10เอโดมจึงได้กบฏออกห่างจากการปกครองของยูดาห์จนทุกวันนี้ ครั้งนั้นลิบนาห์ก็ได้กบฏออกห่างจากการปกครองของพระองค์ด้วย เพราะว่าพระองค์ได้ทรงทอดทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์
10So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day: then Libnah revolted at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers.
11ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก พระองค์ทรงสร้างปูชนียสถานสูงในถิ่นเทือกเขาของยูดาห์ และทรงนำชาวเยรูซาเล็มไปทำการผิดประเวณี และทรงกระทำให้ยูดาห์ทำเช่นกัน
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, and led Judah astray.
12และจดหมายฉบับหนึ่งมาถึงพระองค์จากเอลียาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของดาวิดบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `เพราะเจ้ามิได้ดำเนินในบรรดามรรคาของเยโฮชาฟัทบิดาของเจ้า หรือในบรรดามรรคาของอาสากษัตริย์ของยูดาห์
12A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13แต่ได้เดินในมรรคาของบรรดากษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล และได้นำยูดาห์กับชาวเยรูซาเล็มในการแพศยา อย่างกับการแพศยาแห่งราชวงศ์อาหับ และเจ้าได้ฆ่าพวกน้องชายของเจ้าเสียด้วย ผู้เป็นเชื้อวงศ์บิดาของเจ้า และพวกเขาดีกว่าเจ้า
13but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, like the house of Ahab did, and also have slain your brothers of your father’s house, who were better than yourself:
14ดูเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงนำภัยพิบัติอันยิ่งใหญ่มาเหนือชนชาติของเจ้า ลูกหลานของเจ้า เมียของเจ้า และข้าวของทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า
14behold, Yahweh will strike with a great plague your people, and your children, and your wives, and all your substance;
15และตัวเจ้าเองจะมีความเจ็บป่วยสาหัสด้วยโรคลำไส้ของเจ้า จนกว่าลำไส้ของเจ้าจะออกมาเพราะเหตุโรคนั้นวันแล้ววันเล่า'"
15and you shall have great sickness by disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’”
16ยิ่งกว่านั้น พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเร้าให้ความโกรธของคนฟีลิสเตีย และของคนอาระเบีย ผู้อยู่ใกล้กับคนเอธิโอเปีย มีต่อเยโฮรัม
16Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians:
17และเขาทั้งหลายยกมาต่อสู้กับยูดาห์ และบุกรุกเข้าไปในนั้น และขนข้าวของทั้งสิ้นซึ่งมีในราชสำนัก ทั้งบรรดาโอรสและมเหสีของพระองค์ จึงไม่มีโอรสเหลือไว้ให้แก่พระองค์นอกจากเยโฮอาหาสโอรสองค์สุดท้องของพระองค์
17and they came up against Judah, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18ภายหลังเรื่องเหล่านี้ พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำให้ลำไส้ของเยโฮรัมเป็นโรคซึ่งรักษาไม่ได้
18After all this Yahweh struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19ต่อมาเป็นเวลาสิ้นสองปีลำไส้ของพระองค์ก็ออกมาเพราะโรคนั้น และพระองค์ก็สิ้นพระชนม์ด้วยความทุรนทุรายอย่างยิ่ง ประชาชนของพระองค์มิได้ก่อเพลิงถวายเกียรติแก่พระองค์ อย่างกับก่อเพลิงให้กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์
19It happened, in process of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20เมื่อพระองค์ทรงเริ่มครอบครองนั้น พระองค์มีพระชนมายุสามสิบสองพรรษา และทรงครอบครองในเยรูซาเล็มแปดปี และพระองค์ได้ทรงจากไปโดยไม่มีใครอาลัย เขาก็ฝังพระศพไว้ในนครดาวิด แต่ไม่ใช่ในอุโมงค์ของบรรดากษัตริย์
20Thirty-two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years: and he departed without being desired; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
