¹Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

²ข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างพระนิเวศอันเป็นที่ประทับสำหรับพระองค์ เป็นสถานที่เพื่อพระองค์จะทรงสถิตอยู่เป็นนิตย์"

²But I have built you a house of habitation, and a place for you to dwell in forever.”

³แล้วกษัตริย์ก็ทรงหันพระพักตร์มา และทรงให้พรแก่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง ขณะที่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงยืนอยู่

³The king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

⁴พระองค์ตรัสว่า "สาธุการแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ผู้ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จด้วยพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ ตามที่พระองค์ตรัสไว้ด้วยพระโอษฐ์ต่อดาวิดพระราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าว่า

⁴He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hands fulfilled it, saying,

⁵`ตั้งแต่วันที่เราได้นำประชาชนของเราออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เรามิได้เลือกเมืองหนึ่งเมืองใดในตระกูลอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้น เพื่อจะสร้างพระนิเวศ เพื่อนามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่น และเรามิได้เลือกชายคนใดให้เป็นเจ้านายเหนืออิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา

⁵‘Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:

⁶แต่เราได้เลือกเยรูซาเล็มแล้วเพื่อนามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่น และเราได้เลือกดาวิดแล้วให้อยู่เหนืออิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา'

⁶but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’

⁷ดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าทรงตั้งพระทัยที่จะสร้างพระนิเวศสำหรับพระนามแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล

⁷Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

⁸แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้าว่า `ที่เจ้าตั้งใจสร้างพระนิเวศสำหรับนามของเรานั้น เจ้าก็ทำดีอยู่แล้ว ในเรื่องความตั้งใจของเจ้า

⁸But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart:

⁹อย่างไรก็ตาม เจ้าจะไม่สร้างพระนิเวศ แต่บุตรชายของเจ้าผู้ซึ่งจะออกมาจากบั้นเอวของเจ้าจะสร้างพระนิเวศเพื่อนามของเรา'

⁹nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

¹⁰บัดนี้พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้พระดำรัสของพระองค์ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำนั้นสำเร็จ เพราะข้าพเจ้าได้ขึ้นมาแทนดาวิดราชบิดาของข้าพเจ้า และนั่งอยู่บนบัลลังก์ของอิสราเอล ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงสัญญาไว้ และข้าพเจ้าได้สร้างพระนิเวศสำหรับพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล

¹⁰“Yahweh has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹¹และข้าพเจ้าได้วางหีบไว้ที่นั่น ซึ่งพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่ในนั้น ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำกับชนอิสราเอล"

¹¹There I have set the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with the children of Israel.”

¹²แล้วพระองค์ประทับยืนหน้าแท่นบูชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ ต่อหน้าชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง และกางพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ออก

¹²He stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands

¹³เพราะซาโลมอนได้ทรงสร้างแท่นทองสัมฤทธิ์ ยาวห้าศอก กว้างห้าศอก สูงสามศอก และทรงตั้งไว้กลางลาน และพระองค์ทรงประทับอยู่บนนั้น แล้วพระองค์ทรงคุกเข่าลงต่อหน้าชุมนุมอิสราเอลทั้งปวง และกางพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์สู่ฟ้าสวรรค์

¹³(for Solomon had made a bronze scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)

¹⁴และพระองค์ทูลว่า "ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ไม่มีพระเจ้าองค์ใดเหมือนพระองค์ ในฟ้าสวรรค์หรือที่แผ่นดินโลก ผู้ทรงรักษาพันธสัญญา และทรงสำแดงความเมตตาแก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ผู้ดำเนินอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ด้วยสิ้นสุดใจของเขา

¹⁴and he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven, or on earth; you who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;

¹⁵พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำกับดาวิดบิดาของข้าพระองค์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ตามบรรดาสิ่งซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้แก่ท่าน พระองค์ตรัสด้วยพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์ และพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จในวันนี้ด้วยพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์

¹⁵who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him: yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

¹⁶ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอทรงรักษาสิ่งที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้กับดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ราชบิดาของข้าพระองค์ว่า `เจ้าจะไม่ขาดชายผู้หนึ่งในสายตาของเราที่จะนั่งบนบัลลังก์แห่งอิสราเอล เพื่อว่าลูกหลานทั้งหลายของเจ้าจะระมัดระวังในวิถีทางของเขา ที่จะดำเนินตามราชบัญญัติของเรา อย่างที่เจ้าได้ดำเนินต่อหน้าเรานั้น'

¹⁶“Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.’

¹⁷เพราะฉะนั้น ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ขอพระวจนะของพระองค์จงดำรงอยู่ ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ตรัสกับดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

¹⁷Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David.

¹⁸แต่พระเจ้าจะทรงประทับกับมนุษย์ที่แผ่นดินโลกหรือ ดูเถิด ฟ้าสวรรค์และฟ้าสวรรค์อันสูงที่สุดยังรับพระองค์อยู่ไม่ได้ พระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างขึ้นจะรับพระองค์ไม่ได้ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด

¹⁸“But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house which I have built!

¹⁹แต่ขอพระองค์ทรงสนพระทัยในคำอธิษฐานของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และในคำวิงวอนนี้ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ขอทรงสดับเสียงร้องและคำอธิษฐานซึ่งผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์อธิษฐานต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์

¹⁹Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and to his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you;

²⁰เพื่อว่าพระเนตรของพระองค์จะทรงลืมอยู่เหนือพระนิเวศนี้ทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน คือสถานที่ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ตรัสว่า จะตั้งพระนามของพระองค์ไว้ที่นั่น เพื่อว่าพระองค์จะทรงสดับคำอธิษฐานซึ่งผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จะได้อธิษฐานตรงต่อสถานที่นี้

²⁰that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place where you have said that you would put your name; to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.

²¹และขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำวิงวอนของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ เมื่อเขาอธิษฐานตรงต่อสถานที่นี้ ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับอยู่ในฟ้าสวรรค์อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และเมื่อพระองค์ทรงสดับแล้ว ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงประทานอภัย

²¹Listen to the petitions of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yes, hear from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.

²²เมื่อชายคนใดกระทำบาปต่อเพื่อนบ้านของเขาและถูกบังคับให้ทำสัตย์ปฏิญาณ และเขามาให้คำปฏิญาณต่อหน้าแท่นบูชาของพระองค์ในพระนิเวศนี้

²²“If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swears before your altar in this house;

²³ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับจากฟ้าสวรรค์และขอทรงกระทำ ขอทรงพิพากษาผู้รับใช้ทั้งหลายของพระองค์ ลงโทษผู้กระทำความผิด และทรงนำความประพฤติของเขาให้กลับตกบนศีรษะของตัวเขาเอง และขอทรงประกาศความบริสุทธิ์ของผู้ชอบธรรม สนองแก่เขาตามความชอบธรรมของเขา

²³then hear from heaven, and do, and judge your servants, bringing retribution to the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

²⁴ถ้าอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์พ่ายแพ้ต่อหน้าศัตรูเพราะเขาได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ และเขาหันกลับมาหาพระองค์อีก ยอมรับพระนามของพระองค์ และอธิษฐานและกระทำการวิงวอนต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ในพระนิเวศนี้

²⁴“If your people Israel be struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall turn again and confess your name, and pray and make supplication before you in this house;

²⁵ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ และประทานอภัยแก่บาปของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ และขอทรงนำเขากลับมายังแผ่นดินซึ่งพระองค์ได้พระราชทานแก่เขาทั้งหลายและบรรพบุรุษของเขา

²⁵then hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.

²⁶เมื่อฟ้าสวรรค์ปิดอยู่และไม่มีฝน เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายได้อธิษฐานต่อสถานที่นี้ และยอมรับพระนามของพระองค์ และหันกลับเสียจากบาปของเขาทั้งหลาย เมื่อพระองค์ทรงให้ใจเขาทั้งหลายรับความทุกข์ใจ

²⁶“When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

²⁷ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์ และขอประทานอภัยแก่บาปของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และของอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสอนทางดีแก่เขาซึ่งเขาควรจะดำเนิน และขอทรงประทานฝนบนแผ่นดินของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์พระราชทานแก่ประชาชนของพระองค์เป็นมรดกนั้น

²⁷then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

²⁸ถ้ามีการกันดารอาหารในแผ่นดิน ถ้ามีโรคระบาด ข้าวม้าน รากินข้าว หรือตั๊กแตนวัยบิน หรือตั๊กแตนวัยคลาน หรือศัตรูของเขาทั้งหลายล้อมเมืองในแผ่นดินของเขาไว้รอบด้าน จะเป็นภัยพิบัติอย่างใด หรือความเจ็บอย่างใดมีขึ้นก็ดี

²⁸“If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;

²⁹ไม่ว่าคำอธิษฐานอย่างใด หรือคำวิงวอนประการใด ซึ่งประชาชนคนใด หรืออิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ทั้งสิ้นทูล ต่างก็ประจักษ์ในภัยพิบัติและความทุกข์ใจของเขา และได้กางมือของเขาสู่พระนิเวศนี้

²⁹whatever prayer and supplication be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:

³⁰ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และพระราชทานอภัย และทรงประทานแก่ทุกคนซึ่งพระองค์ทรงทราบจิตใจตามการประพฤติทั้งสิ้นของเขา (เพราะพระองค์เท่านั้นที่ทรงทราบจิตใจแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์)

³⁰then hear from heaven, your dwelling place and forgive, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of the children of men;)

³¹เพื่อว่าเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ยำเกรงพระองค์ และดำเนินในมรรคาของพระองค์ ตลอดวันเวลาที่เขามีชีวิตอาศัยในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งพระองค์พระราชทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย

³¹that they may fear you, to walk in your ways, so long as they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

³²ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เกี่ยวกับชนต่างด้าว ผู้ซึ่งไม่ใช่อิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ เมื่อเขามาจากประเทศเมืองไกล เพราะเห็นแก่พระนามใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์ พระหัตถ์อันมหิทธิฤทธิ์ของพระองค์ และพระกรที่เหยียดออกของพระองค์ เมื่อเขามาอธิษฐานตรงต่อพระนิเวศนี้

³²“Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for your great name’s sake, and your mighty hand, and your outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house:

³³ก็ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับในฟ้าสวรรค์อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และขอทรงกระทำตามทุกสิ่งซึ่งชนต่างด้าวได้ทูลขอต่อพระองค์ เพื่อว่าชนชาติทั้งหลายแห่งแผ่นดินโลกจะรู้จักพระนามของพระองค์ และยำเกรงพระองค์ ดังอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ยำเกรงพระองค์อยู่นั้น และเพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะทราบว่า พระนิเวศนี้ซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างไว้เขาเรียกกันด้วยพระนามของพระองค์

³³then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, and fear you, as does your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.

³⁴ถ้าประชาชนของพระองค์ออกไปกระทำสงครามต่อสู้ศัตรูของเขาทั้งหลาย จะเป็นโดยทางใดๆที่พระองค์ทรงใช้เขาออกไปก็ตาม และเขาทั้งหลายได้อธิษฐานต่อพระองค์ตรงต่อเมืองนี้ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเลือกสรรไว้ และตรงต่อพระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างเพื่อพระนามของพระองค์

³⁴“If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;

³⁵แล้วขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำอธิษฐานของเขาและคำวิงวอนของเขาในฟ้าสวรรค์ และขอทรงให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของเขาคงอยู่

³⁵then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

³⁶ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายกระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ (เพราะไม่มีมนุษย์สักคนหนึ่งซึ่งมิได้กระทำบาป) และพระองค์ทรงกริ้วต่อเขา และพระองค์ทรงมอบเขาไว้ต่อหน้าศัตรู เขาจึงถูกจับไปเป็นเชลยยังแผ่นดินหนึ่งไม่ว่าไกลหรือใกล้

³⁶“If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn’t sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to a land far off or near;

³⁷แต่ถ้าเขาสำนึกผิดในใจในแผ่นดินซึ่งเขาได้ถูกจับไปเป็นเชลย และได้กลับใจและได้อธิษฐานต่อพระองค์ในแผ่นดินที่เขาไปเป็นเชลย ทูลว่า `ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาป และได้ประพฤติชั่วร้ายและได้กระทำความชั่ว'

³⁷yet if they shall repent themselves in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;’

³⁸ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายกลับมาหาพระองค์ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของเขาในแผ่นดินที่เขาไปเป็นเชลย ที่ซึ่งศัตรูกวาดเขาไปเป็นเชลย และอธิษฐานต่อพระองค์ตรงต่อแผ่นดินของเขา ซึ่งพระองค์พระราชทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของเขาทั้งหลาย และต่อเมืองซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงเลือกสรรไว้ และต่อพระนิเวศซึ่งข้าพระองค์ได้สร้างไว้เพื่อพระนามของพระองค์

³⁸if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name:

³⁹แล้วขอพระองค์ทรงสดับคำอธิษฐานและคำวิงวอนของเขาในฟ้าสวรรค์อันเป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ และขอทรงให้สิทธิอันชอบธรรมของเขาคงอยู่ และขอทรงประทานอภัยแก่ประชาชนของพระองค์ผู้ได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์

³⁹then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their petitions, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people who have sinned against you.

⁴⁰ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ บัดนี้ขอพระเนตรของพระองค์ทรงลืมอยู่ และขอพระกรรณของพระองค์สดับคำอธิษฐานแห่งสถานที่นี้

⁴⁰“Now, my God, let, I beg you, your eyes be open, and let your ears be attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.

⁴¹ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า บัดนี้ขอทรงลุกขึ้น เสด็จไปยังที่พำนักของพระองค์ ทั้งพระองค์และหีบแห่งฤทธานุภาพของพระองค์ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า ขอให้ปุโรหิตของพระองค์สวมความรอด และให้วิสุทธิชนของพระองค์เปรมปรีดิ์ในความประเสริฐของพระองค์

⁴¹“Now therefore arise, Yahweh God, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength: let your priests, Yahweh God, be clothed with salvation, and let your saints rejoice in goodness.

⁴²ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า ขออย่าทรงหันหน้าของผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงเจิมไว้นั้นไปเสีย ขอพระองค์ทรงระลึกถึงความเมตตาของพระองค์อันมีอยู่ต่อดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์"

⁴²“Yahweh God, don’t turn away the face of your anointed. Remember your loving kindnesses to David your servant.”
