¹เมื่อซาโลมอนทรงจบคำอธิษฐานของพระองค์แล้ว ไฟได้ลงมาจากฟ้าสวรรค์ไหม้เครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องสัตวบูชาเสีย และสง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็เต็มพระนิเวศ

¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

²ปุโรหิตเข้าไปในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ไม่ได้ เพราะว่าสง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์เต็มพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์

²The priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh filled Yahweh’s house.

³เมื่อบรรดาชนอิสราเอลได้เห็นไฟลงมาและสง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่บนพระนิเวศ เขาทั้งหลายก็กราบซบหน้าลงถึงพื้นหิน และได้นมัสการสรรเสริญพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า "เพราะพระองค์ประเสริฐ เพราะความเมตตาของพระองค์ดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์"

³All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of Yahweh was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever.”

⁴แล้วกษัตริย์และบรรดาประชาชนทั้งหลายได้ถวายเครื่องสัตวบูชาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁵กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนทรงถวายเครื่องสัตวบูชาเป็นวัวสองหมื่นสองพันตัวและแกะหนึ่งแสนสองหมื่นตัว ดังนี้แหละกษัตริย์และประชาชนทั้งปวงได้อุทิศถวายพระนิเวศแห่งพระเจ้า

⁵King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house.

⁶บรรดาปุโรหิตก็ยืนประจำตำแหน่งของตน ทั้งคนเลวีด้วยพร้อมกับเครื่องดนตรีถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งกษัตริย์ดาวิดได้ทรงกระทำเพื่อสรรเสริญพระเยโฮวาห์ เมื่อดาวิดได้ถวายสาธุการด้วยการปรนนิบัติของเขาทั้งหลาย เพราะความเมตตาของพระองค์ดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์ และปุโรหิตก็เป่าแตรข้างหน้าเขา และอิสราเอลทั้งปวงยืนอยู่

⁶The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures for ever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.

⁷และซาโลมอนทรงทำพิธีชำระส่วนกลางของลานซึ่งอยู่ข้างหน้าพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ให้เป็นส่วนบริสุทธิ์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาและไขมันของเครื่องสันติบูชาที่นั่น เพราะว่าแท่นทองสัมฤทธิ์ซึ่งซาโลมอนทรงสร้างไว้นั้น ไม่พอจุเครื่องเผาบูชา เครื่องธัญญบูชาและไขมัน

⁷Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat.

⁸ในครั้งนั้นซาโลมอนทรงถือเทศกาลอยู่เจ็ดวัน และอิสราเอลทั้งปวงอยู่กับพระองค์ด้วย เป็นชุมนุมชนใหญ่ยิ่งนัก ตั้งแต่ทางเข้าเมืองฮามัทจนถึงแม่น้ำอียิปต์

⁸So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt.

⁹และในวันที่แปดเขาทั้งหลายมีการประชุมอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้มีงานมอบถวายแท่นบูชามาเจ็ดวัน และถือเทศกาลเลี้ยงมาเจ็ดวันแล้ว

⁹On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

¹⁰เมื่อวันที่ยี่สิบสามของเดือนที่เจ็ด พระองค์ทรงให้ประชาชนกลับไปเต็นท์ของตน มีใจชื่นบานและยินดีด้วยความดีซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงสำแดงแก่ดาวิด และแก่ซาโลมอน และแก่อิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์

¹⁰On the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹¹ดังนี้แหละซาโลมอนทรงสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์และพระราชวังเสร็จ คือทุกอย่างซึ่งพระองค์ทรงดำริจะกระทำในเรื่องพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์และในเรื่องพระราชสำนักของพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จสิ้น

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house: and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of Yahweh, and in his own house.

¹²แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปรากฏแก่ซาโลมอนเวลากลางคืนและตรัสกับท่านว่า "เราได้ยินคำอธิษฐานของเจ้า และได้เลือกสถานที่นี้สำหรับเราให้เป็นนิเวศแห่งเครื่องสัตวบูชา

¹²Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

¹³ถ้าเราปิดฟ้าสวรรค์มิให้ฝนตก หรือเราบัญชาให้ตั๊กแตนมากินแผ่นดิน หรือส่งโรคระบาดมาท่ามกลางประชาชนของเรา

¹³“If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹⁴ถ้าประชาชนของเราผู้ซึ่งเขาเรียกกันโดยนามของเรานั้นจะถ่อมตัวลง และอธิษฐาน และแสวงหาหน้าของเรา และหันเสียจากทางชั่วของเขา เราก็จะฟังจากสวรรค์ และจะให้อภัยแก่บาปของเขา และจะรักษาแผ่นดินของเขาให้หาย

¹⁴if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁵บัดนี้ตาของเราจะลืมอยู่และหูของเราจะฟังคำอธิษฐานซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายอธิษฐาน ณ สถานที่นี้

¹⁵Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁶เพราะบัดนี้เราได้เลือกสรรและกระทำให้นิเวศนี้เป็นที่บริสุทธิ์เพื่อนามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่นเป็นนิตย์ ตาของเราและใจของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่นตลอดเวลา

¹⁶For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁷ส่วนเจ้า ถ้าเจ้าดำเนินต่อหน้าเราอย่างดาวิดบิดาของเจ้าดำเนินนั้น กระทำตามทุกสิ่งซึ่งเราได้บัญชาแก่เจ้า และรักษากฎเกณฑ์ของเราและคำตัดสินของเรา

¹⁷“As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

¹⁸แล้วเราจะสถาปนาราชบัลลังก์แห่งอาณาจักรของเจ้า ดังที่เราได้กระทำพันธสัญญาไว้กับดาวิดบิดาของเจ้าว่า `เจ้าจะไม่ขาดชายผู้หนึ่งที่จะครอบครองเหนืออิสราเอล'

¹⁸then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.’

¹⁹แต่ถ้าเจ้าหันไปและทอดทิ้งกฎเกณฑ์ของเราและบัญญัติของเราซึ่งเราตั้งไว้ต่อหน้าเจ้า และจะไปปรนนิบัติพระอื่นและนมัสการพระเหล่านั้น

¹⁹But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

²⁰แล้วเราจะถอนรากเขาทั้งหลายออกจากแผ่นดินของเรา ซึ่งเราได้ให้แก่เขา และนิเวศซึ่งเราชำระให้บริสุทธิ์เพื่อนามของเรา เราจะเหวี่ยงออกไปจากสายตาของเรา และเราจะทำให้เขาเป็นคำภาษิตและคำครหาท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งปวง

²⁰then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

²¹และนิเวศนี้ซึ่งสูงส่ง ทุกคนที่ผ่านไปจะประหลาดใจ และกล่าวว่า `ไฉนพระเยโฮวาห์จึงทรงกระทำเช่นนี้แก่แผ่นดินนี้และแก่พระนิเวศนี้'

²¹This house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall say, ‘Why has Yahweh done thus to this land, and to this house?’

²²แล้วเขาทั้งหลายจะตอบว่า `เพราะเขาทั้งหลายทอดทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของเขา ผู้ทรงนำเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และได้ยึดพระอื่น และได้นมัสการพระเหล่านั้นทั้งปรนนิบัติด้วย ฉะนั้นพระองค์จึงได้ทรงนำเหตุร้ายทั้งหมดนี้มาถึงเขาทั้งหลาย'"

²²They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’”
