¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

²ขอพระคุณและสันติสุขซึ่งมาจากพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา และจากพระเยซูคริสต์เจ้า จงมีแก่ท่านทั้งหลายเถิด

²Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³จงสรรเสริญพระเจ้า พระบิดาแห่งพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา พระบิดาผู้ทรงความเมตตา พระเจ้าแห่งการปลอบประโลมใจทุกอย่าง

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;

⁴พระองค์ผู้ทรงปลอบประโลมใจเราในการทุกข์ยากทั้งสิ้นของเรา เพื่อเราจะสามารถปลอบประโลมใจคนเหล่านั้นที่มีความทุกข์ยากอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งได้ ด้วยการปลอบประโลมใจซึ่งตัวเราเองได้รับจากพระเจ้า

⁴who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

⁵เพราะว่าเรามีส่วนทนทุกข์กับพระคริสต์มากฉันใด การปลอบประโลมใจของเราเนื่องจากพระคริสต์ก็มากฉันนั้น

⁵For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

⁶ที่เราทนความทุกข์ยากนั้น ก็เพื่อให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้ความชูใจและความรอด หรือที่เราได้รับการปลอบประโลมใจนั้น ก็เพื่อให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้รับความชูใจและความรอด ซึ่งทำให้ท่านทั้งหลายเพียรสู้ทนความทุกข์เหมือนอย่างเราได้ทนนั้น

⁶But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

⁷เราจึงมีความหวังแน่นอนในท่านทั้งหลาย เพราะเรารู้ว่าท่านทั้งหลายได้มีส่วนในความทุกข์ยากฉันใด ท่านทั้งหลายจะได้มีส่วนในการปลอบประโลมใจฉันนั้น

⁷Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.

⁸พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราอยากให้ท่านทราบถึงความทุกข์ยากที่เกิดแก่เราในแคว้นเอเชีย ซึ่งทำให้เราหนักใจจนเหลือกำลัง จนเราเกือบหมดหวังที่จะเอาชีวิตรอดมาได้

⁸For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

⁹ที่จริงเราคาดว่าเราถึงที่ตายแล้ว แต่ที่เป็นเช่นนี้ก็เพื่อมิให้เราไว้ใจในตนเอง แต่ให้ไว้ใจในพระเจ้าผู้ทรงโปรดให้คนทั้งปวงฟื้นจากความตาย

⁹Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

¹⁰พระองค์ทรงช่วยเราให้พ้นจากความตายอันใหญ่หลวง และพระองค์จะทรงช่วยเราอีก เราไว้ใจพระองค์ว่า พระองค์จะทรงช่วยเราต่อไปอีก

¹⁰who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

¹¹ท่านทั้งหลายจะช่วยเราได้ด้วยการอธิษฐานเพื่อเรา เพื่อว่าคนเป็นอันมากจะได้ขอบพระคุณเพราะเรา เนื่องจากของประทานที่ทรงประทานแก่เรา อันเป็นการทรงตอบคำอธิษฐานของคนเป็นอันมากนั้น

¹¹you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

¹²นี่เป็นสิ่งที่เราชื่นชมยินดีได้ คือใจสำนึกผิดชอบของเราเป็นพยานว่าเราได้ประพฤติตนเป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่โลก และยิ่งกว่านั้นก็คือการประพฤติต่อท่านทั้งหลาย ด้วยน้ำใจบริสุทธิ์ และด้วยความจริงใจซึ่งมาจากพระเจ้า และมิใช่ตามปัญญาฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามพระคุณของพระเจ้า

¹²For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

¹³เพราะว่าเราไม่ได้เขียนเรื่องอื่นถึงท่าน นอกจากเรื่องซึ่งท่านได้อ่านและยอมรับแล้ว และข้าพเจ้าก็หวังว่าท่านจะยอมรับโดยตลอด

¹³For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end;

¹⁴ตามที่พวกท่านยอมรับเราบ้างแล้วว่า ในวันของพระเยซูเจ้าท่านก็ภูมิใจในเราได้ เช่นเดียวกับที่เราจะภูมิใจในท่าน

¹⁴as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

¹⁵และในความไว้ใจนี้ ข้าพเจ้าได้ประสงค์ว่าจะไปเยี่ยมพวกท่านก่อน เพื่อท่านจะได้ประโยชน์สองเท่า

¹⁵In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;

¹⁶ข้าพเจ้าใคร่จะแวะเยี่ยมพวกท่านระหว่างที่เดินทางไปยังแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย และเมื่อข้าพเจ้ากลับจากแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย ก็จะแวะเยี่ยมท่านอีก ท่านก็จะได้ส่งให้ข้าพเจ้าออกเดินทางไปยังแคว้นยูเดีย

¹⁶and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

¹⁷ฉะนั้นเมื่อข้าพเจ้าหมายที่จะทำอย่างนั้น ข้าพเจ้าโลเลหรือ หรือสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้ามุ่งหมายไว้ข้าพเจ้ากะโครงการอย่างเนื้อหนังหรือ ซึ่งพร้อมที่จะกล่าวว่า มา ไม่มา ส่งๆไป

¹⁷When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

¹⁸แต่พระเจ้าทรงสัตย์จริงแน่ฉันใด คำของเราที่กล่าวกับท่านก็มิใช่เป็นคำรับ หรือปฏิเสธ ส่งๆไปแน่ฉันนั้น

¹⁸But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”

¹⁹เพราะว่าพระบุตรของพระเจ้าคือพระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ซึ่งพวกเรา คือข้าพเจ้ากับสิลวานัสและทิโมธี ได้ประกาศแก่พวกท่านนั้น ไม่ใช่ จริง ไม่จริง ส่งๆไป แต่โดยพระองค์นั้นล้วนแต่จริงทั้งสิ้น

¹⁹For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

²⁰บรรดาพระสัญญาของพระเจ้าก็เป็นจริงโดยพระเยซู เพราะเหตุนี้เราจึงพูดว่าเอเมนโดยพระองค์ เป็นที่ถวายเกียรติยศแด่พระเจ้า

²⁰For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen,” to the glory of God through us.

²¹บัดนี้ผู้ซึ่งทรงตั้งเรากับท่านทั้งหลายไว้ในพระคริสต์ และได้ทรงเจิมเราไว้นั้น ก็คือพระเจ้า

²¹Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;

²²และพระองค์ทรงประทับตราเรา และประทานพระวิญญาณไว้ในใจของเราเป็นมัดจำด้วย

²²who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

²³ยิ่งกว่านั้นขอพระเจ้าทรงเป็นพยานฝ่ายจิตใจของข้าพเจ้าว่า ที่ข้าพเจ้ายังไม่ได้ไปถึงเมืองโครินธ์นั้น ก็เพื่อจะงดโทษพวกท่านไว้ก่อน

²³But I call God for a witness to my soul, that I didn’t come to Corinth to spare you.

²⁴เราไม่ใช่เป็นนายบังคับความเชื่อของพวกท่าน แต่ว่าเราเป็นผู้อุปการะความยินดีของท่าน เพราะท่านตั้งมั่นอยู่โดยความเชื่อ

²⁴Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
